- 'The Raggedy Doctor by Amelia Pond' is a short Doctor Who story written by Steven Moffat and narrated by Caitlin Blackwood, who played Amelia Pond in the TV series.
This video was released as part of the #FishCustard global simulcast watch-along of the Doctor Who episode 'The Eleventh Hour', which took place on Friday 3 April 2020 (the 10th anniversary of its first broadcast in 2010).
It was home-produced remotely during the 'lockdown' period of the COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020.
All involved in the making of this video contributed their time and talent for free. You guys should bring Steven Moffat back on for the 60th anniversary (if that ever happens), unless he dies. He may be a bit of a goose at writing but he’s good at it, especially endings and beginnings

That part was perfect because it shows that even though Amelia was obsessed with the doctor she knew that she was safe as long as she had Rory in her life, it also shows that she actually does love him and care about him it's adorable xx

COVID-19 may be awful but these extra pieces of content for Doctor Who are truly beautiful. I like to think that this is Amy, as a teenager, looking back at a short story she wrote as a child. Also, the writing really does come across as if it’s a child’s vernacular. Beautiful work, Moffat.

I absolutely love this. distils The entire amy/Rory saga perfectly... The way young Amy refers to Rory seemingly dismissively but at heart a recognition of what he means to her. Beautiful

Moffat and Murray Gold. Bring them back and I think Doctor Who could be saved, but Chibnal is destroying it. Jodie is fine. It's not her. It's the writing and Chibnal's attempt to make his mark by destroying all the Who canon.

I take issue with the idea that"Jodie is fine" . She's boring and doesn't have the ability to sell the idea of being a two thousand year old alien. No charisma and comes across as a limp noodle. Not against the idea of a woman playing the Doctor, but Jodie's not the one. Forget Michelle Gomez as missy, think what might be if she'd been cast as the Doctor.

I love how Rory's unconditional love just never faded. No matter how many times Amy forgot about him, he knew, deep down, that she loved him. Especially with all the "Except Rory's" :D
Now I want a spin-off show based on Young Amelia's efforts on chasing monsters.

I've said numerous times that Angels Take Manhattan is the culmination of one of the greatest love stories of all time. Beyond Tristan und Isolde, or Romeo and Juliet, it's Rory and Amy. The boy who guarded his love for 2000 years and the girl who waited a lifetime to be rescued. Their sacrifices for each other are only rivaled by the Doctor and River.

Lovely writing and animation. Amazing that Moff can be away from DW for over 2 years and nail it so perfectly.
This video makes a stronger bond/connection of Series 6 which is episode 10 "The Girl Who Waited" and Episode 11 "The God Complex"
In episode 10, where she talks to her future self about Rory... the most beautiful man she ever met...

I just realised for the first time, Mels grew up listening to Amelia talk about her Raggedy Doctor... and then Mels MARRIED him. Some best friend!
Nah he wasn't a love interest for little Amelia more like a father figure :) Someone to take her away and be her dad and teach her how to fight the world full of monsters. Meanwhile Mels was brainwashed to hunt and kill him. So psychologically its like incest trying to marry some guy you thought of as a father figure when you were a small girl but its not like that psychologically if you were brainwashed to be his assassin when you were a child.

A shame that season 5 used the crack to make it that Amy forgot about a lot of the stuff that's happened throughout her life. Think about it, she grew up and lived through a lot of the alien invasions of the RTD era. I think it would have been interesting to see Amy's perspective on things like Big Ben being destroyed by an alien spaceship, The Army of Ghosts, the Titanic almost crashing into Buckingham Palace, the Dalek Invasion and 27 planets, and all the while wondering where "The Raggedy Doctor" is. "Is he there fighting the monsters?" "Does he even know the earth is under attack?" Or at least had her bring that kind of stuff up.
Can you imagine Murray Gold's music underscoring this?? Like, when she mentions the Raggedy Doctor, they could play a more mournful setting of "I am the Doctor" as he's a memory she's fond of but beginning to think never happened.
