This video was specially created for #NewNewYork, the worldwide tweetalong of the Doctor Who episodes 'New Earth' and 'Gridlock' on Saturday 30 May 2020.
Written by Russell T Davies, starring Anna Hope as Novice Hame and featuring music by Murray Gold, this video was home-produced remotely during the 'lockdown' period of the COVID-19 outbreak in May 2020.

Wait... Did the Tenth Doctor go and visit her just before he went and regenerated? Like all the other people he went and said goodbye to? That's so amazing.
I think, this is exactly that. I wonder, if eleven or twelve or thirteen comes back to new earth, and finds out about the long trap, too. I wonder, if the tie in with the song of Akathen is a hint on some connection and the Doctor will spring or defuse the trap.
Maybe, new earth is old earth transported there by some mysterious cosmic entity just before the sun of our original solar system explodes.
It possible.

David Tennant says "hello" and we cry. He says he's on a final journey and we cry. He sits with Novice Hame and tells stories and we cry. Because everything ends and that's sad, but everything begins again too and that's always happy.

I don't miss him, this story was.....ok
In hindsight, his writing did reach some tall heights that I hadn't appreciated til now.
I always loved RTD, I am shocked to hear how much abuse he received from so-called fans. If that's how they behave, then they deserve all the tosh that Chibnall serves them.

So, last Monday I lost my Dad. He passed in his sleep and I am still not ok. Thank you Doctor Who for a beautiful story and a beautiful message. I wonder is a wonderful way to live.

I lost my Novice Hame, my mother, to this pandemic. Yes, this beautiful piece made me cry because I still have tears of mourning to shed. Tears even for myself as the last of my line of Wonderers. But in my living memory their memories live and still keep my wonderings company. And for that, and every creative act that reminds me to continue that loving heritage -like this animation- I could not be more grateful. My tears came with Farewell, Sarah Jane.
This is the Doctor Who I miss.
Also as short as ten's life was, it seems he spent a large portion of it infected with radiation visiting everyone he ever met.
I bet he was about 950 by the time he saw them all
If you ignore that 11 said he was 907 near the start of his run. I'd say 10 spent around 2 weeks visiting everyone.

@@Thekellin1 one fan theory is that 9 spent a lot of time in between leaving rose and popping back (to her) a couple seconds later and telling her the tardis is also a time machine. This is even used in a short story written for the 50th.

This beautiful video is another reminder that Russell T Davies brought heart to this series. No attempts to be cleverer than thou. No efforts made to be extra funny. Nothing politically correct for the sake of it. Just a man with a pen, who closed his eyes and expanded a universe he grew up loving, so all of us could experience that joy with him. What a wonderful way to start a new week and a new month. ♥

The wonder of Doctor Who. It’s a great description.
Sigh...my feels are hit in the feels. This is the power of great storytelling. At its best, Doctor Who truly is about time travel, but not just for him. It's about us, and the magic that RTD somehow tapped into during his tenure. I wish that the current Doctor had a writer and show runner that just "felt" what this show is really about. The new show is so mired in trying to tell us why the new doctor is better than everyone that has come before that it forgets what the Doctor truly is about - its about HOPE, and hope appeals to all of us, no matter our race, gender, sexual orientation, political ideology. Hope is the one thing that ties us all together as humanity, and it is the exact thing that is missing from the new show. Thank you for this, all of you involved, for the tears and the smiles and the wistfulness of it. It's been a long time coming.
Chibnall wanted to kind of return back, to the Classic Who without drama, it was a very action-oriented show, without much reflection, but with a lot of mysteries. Maybe it didn't work out.

I like the idea that Hame discovered New Earth was actually Old Earth. When Earth was going to be destroyed in The End of The World, a later Doctor finally couldn't bear the thought of Earth ever ending and came back at the very last second, when on one was looking, to save it. He pulled the Earth across the Universe to a new home where it would be safe. Remember, no one actually saw the Earth be destroyed. Of course, the plants had changed and evolved over the years.
