@@lordgodamenra8075 carwow is good for fun drag racing, nothing scientific or precise. They don't take too long to get to the races either, they just take a minute to show us what they are racing and cars hp and tq.

-However- distracting edits, what is useful is to see two things, the specs of the cars (like charge levels, ludicrous settings etc) and a clearly view of the launch and full race. Keep up the great work!!

Ridiculious comparison! A model S P100D with 2 motors (together 100 kW) and ludicrous mode against a Standerd Range 75 kw one motor model 3. And what about the version of model X? You should compare the 3 performance models against eachother. Then you get a better picture.

It's amazing how much faster the Model S P100D is over the otherwise very fast Model 3P. The Roadster is going to be crazy. SpaceX package is going to be untouchable. Light-years ahead of the next best thing at 1/10 the price.
All well and good, but what about a video showing what kind of servicing these cars require and the cost involved? I've not seen any motoring channel cover that? (if anyone has covered it please feel free to let me know, so I can watch it, many thanks)
You don't service a Tesla. Just an MOT after 3 years.
You're right it would be a great video for those that aren't owners. Party tricks aside, owners want to know things like you've mentioned. Not sure why channels don't concentrate on that.
Either way I'll give you an answer as an owner. Had it 2 years now, driven 110k km (yes that's heaps in that time haha) still haven't serviced it once. Servicing is not compulsory and furthermore if you do do a service they said they don't really so much, just check wiper fluid, brakes and whatnot. No mechanical parts are changed because barely anything can go wrong mechanically.
On top of that, they have an 8 year unlimited km warranty on anything battery and motor related, so you're covered for 8 years for anything that would cost you a lot to replace. The only thing you need to be wary of is things like the door handles, screen failing and for that you have a 4 year warranty (km on that warranty wary from region to region I believe but I could be wrong)
Tesla recommend changing the cabin filter and getting the brake fluid checked every 2 years.
Tesla recommend an air conditioning service every 2 years for Model S, every 4 years for Model X and every 6 years for Model 3.
That's it.
"Unlike gasoline cars, Tesla cars require no traditional oil changes, fuel filters, spark plug replacements or emission checks. As electric cars, even brake pad replacements are rare because regenerative braking returns energy to the battery, significantly reducing wear on brakes."

The Model X suspension was not set to low, no SOC provided, no car mode information, no software version used, no 0-60 time, no 1\4 mile time, video wayyy over edited and no single continuous shot of the entire race = worthless video + huge waste of my time.

I still believe if Tesla opened the M3 to its maximum possible output it would match the MS as it's lighter. Tesla obviously want to nerf it so it doesn't harm MS sales.
That's just speculation. The S has a larger battery: 100kWh compared to the 75kWh in the 3. The 100kWh battery allows more power to be drawn from the pack, the Model S is simply more powerful than the 3, even with the extra weight.

@@StefABtv as the owner of two Teslas, I can confirm they do have a motor sound under acceleration. There's a whine from the electric motors, it's pretty awesome!

I think the model X needs to be in ulta low suspension due to the drive shaft angle wear issue. It will be in lower power as tested or about 1 second slower to 60.
The model S is the best tesla no secret in that, waiting for the plague version and the roadster haha

Introduction to video... looking to buy an electric car / Tesla, which one do you get? (on this test, based purely on acceleration). With a price difference of, I guess, about £60000 between the cars shown here, seems like an unlikely premise for the decision making process of a buyer.
A drag race without any times, is not a drag race.
Take the Model S and get some performance car to race it against and then put an identical car on a trailor behind the Tesla and repeat the drag. It will be fun seeing the other vehicle being beaten by its counterpart on a trailor behind a Tesla.

P100D is awesome!. Guys you might need to add stats to your videos as it will be interesting to see what the 0-60, standing quarter mile times are between the cars. Good race though.
I get 11.5 seconds for the 1/4 mile in my Tesla Model 3 Performance Stealth.

Please encourage Tesla to make a Miata/BRZ/86 competitor. The model three Tesla is more of a BMW 3 series competitor. So, a RWD two door sports car. More of a focus on driving than outright performance.
Interesting. Its Physics. The Model S and X use an induction motor for the rear drive, these motors were developed by Tesla (both Mr and the manufacturer) in fact also co invented by Galileo Ferraris and they have been around since 1880, they have big torque are hyper reliable along with 83 to 97% efficiency depending on load/rpm. Tesla used induction motors for both front and rear but it was debatable that torque could be put down on the front wheels so when Tesla developed the more efficient rare earth magnet reluctance motors for the Model 3 (but less torque landen at low rpm ) they put that in the front of S and X as well.
S being lighter than X accelerates quickest.
Induction motors draw more current than the reluctance and as a result both S and X with reluctance front motors have more energy available to the rear induction motor just where you need it for acceleration so they are even quicker off the line in the latest "raven" versions yet when in cruise the software transfers more work to the front motor so S and X go further to.
I haven't finished yet. Model 3 uses reluctance motors front and rear they are smaller and lighter better suited to the smaller car and being a later development chassis Tesla have been able to engineer it lighter, simpler (uses steel and alloy) and to accommodate second generation battery cells that are more energy dense than used in Model S and X so essentially a lighter package, although Model 3 does not use the grunty induction motor in the rear it is comparatively lighter in the battery so still accelerates well.

To confuse the issue a couple of months ago Tesla released an over the air free update to Model 3 giving 5% more power how cool is that!. Then last month in addition offered a 1/2 second 0-60 improvement to the Model 3 long range for £1,500 again over the air ( just order it on your phone app).
Basically Teslas are quick and just keep getting quicker and better on range and sometimes this is an over the air update overnight just like your phone. Wait till the next round of Tri motor plaid drive Model S and battery investor day in March as Tesla is working on even more advanced batteries (they have their own battery factory in Nevarda, biggest footprint in the world so they can do this) these cars will get even better.

Were you using the top x as the p100d of that. If you did not, why because you had the p100d s but not the p100d x? Because the x will beat the 3 considerably because it does 2.9 and the new raven now does 2.7 0-60 where the performance 3 does 3.2
These guys think in old terms. It is relevant to put the Teslas in the right mode, show their SOC (state of charge) and mention, if they got the Software Performance upgrade...

My Model 3 Performance got totaled yesterday in a car accident. Car "didnt see me" well for about the same price as my 2020 Model 3 Performance i can pick up a slightly older P100D. I think i may do this!

@AlixiumMusic I ended up getting another Model 3 performance. It was used but it had the FSD and was red with white interior which is what I wanted. I was thinking about the P100d but I wanted something with newer features and had more life in the warenty. The P100D is a little quicker but I decided on having better technology.
What exactly are you missing feature wise between a 2019 P100D and a 2021+ Model 3? Pretty sure a P100D has more luxury features than a Model 3 right? Or are you referring to just the software updates and features? @@SkeenDogger
