Yes but even though that's true the Jeep would still be the best because the specs are just there and I've seen them in person they are literally outstanding this terrain totally sucked you should see them do wicked rock crawling in Factory form like the one in the video. It looks like some of the blame, at least, belongs to the tires, and lack of articulation and travel in the front suspensions of the Ineos and Land Rover.
Better tires would grab and climb out of the ruts, and a lack of suspension travel and articulation can restrict the ability to get out of a deep rut as well.

The front cross axle locker is not engaged on that Grenadier. Further, a different line is taken by the vehicles that succeeded in the climb vs those that didn’t. Not a great comparison where it really counts.

Problem with the Grenadier is that it is very heavy and it doesn't have the travel or the articulation that the Jeep does. The Grenadier is trying to be able to tow a lot and handle better on the road while the Jeep is only purely an off-road vehicle go look at Jeep testing grounds and look at what the Rock crawl with from the factory. Over here in America that Rubicon can go on ridiculous rock crawling trails that that Defender could never do with any tires because it lacks the articulation and the lockers up front and the long travel and you can't manually adjust anything. The deepest lower it is lighter it has long travel tons of articulation it's just outstanding you should see what it can do. Great review! For those who complain that the Inneos should have been on the same tyres as the Jeep Wrangler, that is what Inneos provided for $85,000. The Jeep tested wasn’t even the best off roader they sell! For $72k Jeep supplies it with a factory lift kit and 35 inch/315 mud terrain tyres. I guess then the next argument would be the Inneos should then be tested with an after market lift kit and bigger wheels. Oh and an after market disconnect-able sway bar…. Do all that and you are looking at $100k + with now no warranty to compete against a stock Jeep.

Yeah people don't get it. I'm like come on just look at the specs. It's lighter and has more travel and has articulation it has full lockers it's just no contest at all. I feel like people who still try to think the new Defender is going to do so good are people that just don't understand these Concepts and they're just more into the name of the vehicle and the look. You could tell me the specs of what the jeep has and what everything else has and I would know what's going to do better without even seeing it do better. Here in America people take rubicons on rock crawling Trails totally factory specs and climb up boulders

l changed the tyres on my new Defender for the Goodyear Wrangler and it's much better off road.
The standard tyres are poor in mud, so l am surprised the Defender did as well as this on effectively road tyres.
However out of all these l would take the Wrangler, it's a true classic and looks right at home on that terrain.

I had a 2020 Defender First Edition 110 D240 between June 2020 and March 2023, did 23000 miles in it on Duratrac AT’s with a lot of moderate/ heavy offroad stuff and I could manually lock the centre diff and change the amount of slippage but my 2023 D250 90 HSE doesn’t have that program as standard - it’s part of an option pack that I didn’t tick the box for but I did opt for the rear eDiff. In both cars it was interesting to see how hard the eDiffs work in wet conditions on the road as well as off it. Having owned a TDI 300 90 for 26 years prior to changing to the D240 110 there’s no way I would go back to the old style either, the old one might have been hugely capable offroad but 75% of my miles are on the tar and the new ones are great offroad but superb on it, especially the D250 which could very easily be a licence looser……….
The 110 used for the video is a PHEV which runs the P300 petrol engine (the smallest engine in the range) and the electric motor - on road it gives near Defender V8 performance but also not great fuel consumption once you’ve used up the 21 miles real world electric range.

Or you can just get the Jeep and it's way better because it's lighter it has a lower center of gravity it has manual lockers it has manual locking transfer case with a better ratio and better differential hearing and way more suspension travel and articulation and it can do rock crawling Trails right up Boulders in factory specs while the defender will just get all stiff and tall and spin and grab and want to flip backwards because the traction control doesn't let it do things smoothly unless you're on moist surfaces like England
