You have a point definitely, but those tires' grooves are so full of mud and crap that near as makes no difference... They might as well be on slicks lol
Like they want one car to purposely look bad. I'm always writing about tires but they are not showing which ones they use for each car, which they should for off road challenges.

@@pbart9821 most can be had with different tires from the factory. Plus, anyone doing any off-roading in these won't run the stock tires anyway, so it's stupid not to put them all on the same off-road tire
@stefanpetrov8 Land Rover doesn't offer offroad tyres like Jeep and Ineos and when you want to put a good set of muddies on it you cant cause its rim is too big at 20 inches, most offroaders dont have larger than a 17 or 18 inch. If you watch TFL when they put it against a Bronco and Wrangler the tyre literally popped off on a tiny rock
I've been following Carwow for more than 5 years, watched almost all their videos, and this was FAR THE MOST ENTERTAINING ONE! Big congrats to the Carwow team!
That drag race like that on flat mud is all about tyres. You want a chunky spread out tread and not too wide so that it digs in and doesnt float on top. A fiesta with the right tyres would ace it. Fun but I think they all need to be on the same tyre to test the vehicles.
As a Jeep owner ( thanks to my youth in Detroit), I’m delighted with the win. I currently have a Wrangler SWB. Very rare animal here in Cork. (Ireland). Keep ‘em coming- very enjoyable.
You can make this much more succinct: the Wrangler is the best rock crawler, the Grenadier is the best for trails/ruts, and the Defender is the best for showing people how cool you are on the morning trip to school. Love my Defender, but it is 100% a pavement princess that just talks about off-roading.
It really is a good off road vehicle, but it has to have the correct tires for the job... give it that, and its awesome. It been put thoroughly through its paces on multiple channels on YT and it really is a great 4x4... its stock tires? Not so much!

If it’s not at a LR dealership having warranty work , that’s assuming you can get it insured . Only joking , good car but the grenadier is built like a tank and built to last with almost all the components being hand picked best in class partners . Don’t forget the grenadier has 5 seats £79k and the 3 door LR tested was over £90k for a two seater is ridiculous !
The bloke with the buggery handle (pony tail) has no clue about diff locks and low range. He decides to use low range on a flat surface, on mud to win a drag race. Clever boy.
Curious why the V6 or 392 Jeep Wrangler was not tested instead. Seems like from a price, torque, and horsepower perspective it would have been more in line with the others....??

And I don’t mean in the traditional sense of the Rover reputation; I mean, you need a laptop to interface with it to remedy the most basic of issues.
The Rally cross race was insane 🤣🔥 Remember, When doing this off-road challenges, you might as well install all-Terrain Tires to all the cars to maximize their off-road capabilities👍🏾
I find it weird that Land Rover sells you an offroader with road tires from New, that just doesn't make any sense, even lexus with the LX sells it from the dealer with either all-surface or offroad tires depending on what you want
coz land rover knows most of the customers r not going offroad anyways that's y they're competing against compact suv's when it comes to ride & handling however they still offer u all terrain tyres before purchase
Fun video. Agree with others that all 3 vehicles should have had the same make / model of tire. Also, always run 4 high for sloppy mud. Definately helps sling mud from the treads and keeps the tires biting.

But it's what comes from the factory for each 😂 FYI for next time, the Wrangler can be run in 4H with rear locker engaged if you have ESC/Traction Control off and in Offroad+ mode. Also, from memory Offroad+ in 4L isn't what you want if you need wheel speed, it's programmed for slower rock crawling. 4L without Offroad+ enabled would have performed better on the muddy hill I believe. And it doesn't make sense to run the sway bar disconnect at speed when you'd actually want it connected haha. Not to mention it'll re-connect itself at speeds above 25km/h 'ish anyway. Looked like a lot of good fun though!
My new Defender was pretty rubbish in a muddy field, until l changed the stock road biased tyres for some Goodyear Wranglers. lt made a big difference, although fuel economy fell a little. l can't tell what tyres are fitted to the Defender in this test, but l think the two LWB live axle vehicles had the edge.
Awesome vehicles, either is ridiculously capable for a weekend getaway, and all have their own special traits. I’d go the comfort of the LR for a weekend adventure. Thanks Matt🤘

The Ineos is the first real challenge to the Jeep in decades. All the other challenges have been 'It's better on-road'. Mud isn't really where the Wrangler was designed, it's a different sort of setup than the rocks and obstacles Wranglers are typically used on. Something like the Power Wagon is more a mudding vehicle. But it's way too big for English roads.
Wild to see the Wrangler Rubicon with Sport Fenders and bumper. Over here in the states we get high clearance fender flares (they're even with the hood) and that bumper style is much closer to what's on a Sport (our Rubis have a big gap between the bumper and fenders). I'm sure it's due to regulations across the pond.
This was really enjoyable to watch. I'd love to see the same for American SUVs based in the US and then maybe the middle east too (like Oman) where they have MGs, Patrols, etc.

I know there a bit of fun and I do enjoy them but for for off roading all vehicles need to run the same tyre otherwise it's pointless.
Much like Pikes Peak Hillclimb cars actually. All cars should also have passed the crash test before it even ready for Hill Climbing events.

The Grenadier is really starting to grow on me, I absolutely love it. Tough choice between a Defender 110 and a Grenadier for me.
It depends on what you plan to do with it, if you plan on off-roading the grenadier wins, but the 110 is just so much better on road

The 16” rim will not clear the brake calipers. The smallest rim that will fit on the Defender is an 18” rim, but only if you buy the four cylinder.
