I still don’t know how to respond to that. The best part was that this same guy was married at the time… and his wife left him six months later. Karma.

My intuition buzzed. I felt horrified. It was like a marking point that the culture was about to tank. It did. Gaslighting, losing very good employees, promoting terrible employees, loading more work onto the hard workers. Demoted me without telling me, including decreasing my pay..Then ASKED why I was still doing that job. Oh! Because I was never told I wasn'! Toxicity so thick there. I left the company after having these exact interviews in this video...being called in multiple times. Woof.

"You need to put the company first"
I distinctly remember when the company was having financial difficulties, and everybody had to take a week of furlough (unpaid vacation). Our department manager spoke to us and told us "I will continue working through my furlough days.......all of you can do whatever you want".
Several weeks later, the company continued having problems and was forced to lay people off.
Well.......guess who gets laid off?.....................Yup......our department manager.
We didn't have the heart to ask him "Are you going to continue working through your lay-off days?"

People at work are not your friends. Do not over share details of your personal life. Do not gossip. Other people may tell you something about a coworker, but don’t repeat it to another coworker. Just be professional, be on time. And don’t think that HR will actually help you. They work for the company and will advise you in a way that protects the company. And if you are always running to them with a problem, you will be perceived as a problem.
Try your best to stay in your job at least 2 years to gain experience and show stability. Always keep your resume up to date. Don’t burn bridges, because you may need a good reference should you decide to leave for another job.
Don’t give anyone the ammunition to say bad things about you. People probably still will, but ignore it. Just smile and say hi to even the most horrible people. Don’t make yourself a target.

I'm at the point in my career where I don't move like this - when you're young and just starting these may be the tips to live by, but now if I accept a position and realize it is not for me, I'm not staying.

@@LifeChange35 Agree that this advice applies mostly to younger folks starting out, but there are some things that could apply to anyone.
I have given this advice to my youngest daughter, and it has helped a lot. She stays away from anyone that gossips and promotes drama. In her current job, she recently received news she’d be kept on in her department, while others were fired. She also got a raise and a bonus. Being professional and hard working has definitely benefited her.

@@galaxyglitterlatte4664 Thank you! It’s unfortunate, but it happens in all jobs, small or big companies, private sector or government, in all types of industries. I’m retired now, so I’ve seen a lot and experienced a lot. I was not part of any office clique, and did not want to join in on the gossip and rumor mongering. I was pressured to, but held my own. I was always very independent minded and disliked being around people who would bond over gossiping about others. And I was targeted for it, and excluded. But I have always believed that you cannot be excluded from something you want no part of.

What has not been discussed here is HOW Veronica got on their (management) radar to begin with. She may have been running her mouth to a co-worker who later repeated what she heard. Veronica may have been on the phone with a friend while at work and thought she was in the room alone, but someone overheard her conversation. Perhaps management was snooping online in Veronica's social media and found some untowardly stuff that Veron said about her employer... it could have been any one of a NUMBER of different things. The point is- KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT ALWAYS AND DON'T TRUST ANYONE. Work is employment not enjoyment.

Clearly you haven't watched or understood her many videos. Veronica is acused of having an attitude and being a trouble making employee BECAUSE she is keeping her ground! The abusive company always tries to manipulate her to sacrifice her life for the company for no benefits and she is always keeping her ground! I understand that situation too well as I am Veronica in my own life in the abusive and corrupt work environment in Romania

They have to pretend that you’re all one big happy family , then your usefulness is over and you’re cast aside . Work to live and never give more than you need to as you can do a hundred good things but will only ever be remembered for that one mistake.

What I find interesting about these videos and what I receive from them is now that women are saying: NO to the BS, whether it is personal, occupational or financial relationships. It's funny how people are getting triggered by it and presenting a threatening and hostile atmosphere if the woman doesn't comply. These videos are very helpful for me as a nurse to take up for myself, especially around Doctors whether man or woman because they must take a class in medical school titled: the staff is there to kiss my @$$ 101, followed by treat your nurse like $h*t 201. When I am hiring a contractor for MY home with MY money, it's funny how the transaction and quality of work depends on how impressionable I am as eye candy to the contractor and if not, me DEMANDING a good job when I am the one paying the money is making me out to be a "karen" when I take up for myself. Interesting....
