My 23 Pilot had a missing tire pressure sensor. I think it was scarier than serious but they took care of it and my car has been trouble free for a year, 12K, and I am happy with my decision. I did a lot of research on this engine before I signed on the dotted line. ‘Love your videos! Thank you!
A tire pressure sensor? That's like a $5 part. 10 years ago, we never had tire pressure sensors. We would actually spend 60 seconds and measure all 4 tires manually with a pressure gauge.
Early build ‘23 Elite owner with 17.5k miles now. Most reliable new Honda I’ve owned. Nothing has broken or stopped working so far. No warped rotors! Wireless charging is a bust IMO and have a 6.8mm panel gap on driver door (but still shuts with the typical Honda quality thud). Overall super smooth vehicle and very happy.
Thanks for sharing and happy your having an overall positive experience. Yeah the wireless charges across both Honda and Acura lineups are basically useless with my phone 😅
Recently, a Honda service advisor told me it won’t charge when Apple Car Play is connected (possibly draws too much power vs what can be recharged through wireless).
Correct, my previous new Hondas have had warped rotors, warped windshield moulding, bad head units, and other various recalls within year 1. It’s been different so far with my particular ‘23 Pilot.
Love the info as always.. I have a 2023 Honda Pilot Elite.. I love the vehicle... So do my family and friends.. I spoke so highly of the Pilot my brother went and got one.... As for issues only thing I have had problem with is passenger 2nd row electric automatic seat fold and slide not working anymore... Appt 1/19 Balise Honda in Springfield MA... I will drop a follow up in the comments when I find out what happened, why and how they addressed the situation... Thanks for all the great current content... Wish you and your family all the best in the new year...
So far in 2700 miles it has been amazing over the last 2 months. Super smooth and quiet. Nice solid quality interior with Zero squeaks rattles or anything over large bumps or small bumps. Smooth Jseries engine. Trans and awd is also smooth. Drive train is smooth as a luxury vehicle buy just not that powerful. Feels very well built. Inside and out. Top notch Bose system too. 24 elite black/brown interior looks sharp but in a very understated and under the radar type of way. Hope it’s built to last like my older Hondas and Acura.
@@brenttitus2134 it’s nothing for long term impressions of the vehicle. But it gives me a pretty good first impression. But that’s how it is with a car this new. We won’t know how they really are until about 5 years or more later. I’m hoping it’s kind of like my older Honda experiences that resulted in owning the car at least 15 years. Had previously owned since new a 1990 civic, 2005 accord coupe, 2003 Acura TL, 2010 civic, 23 crv and now this 24 pilot. Always kept the vehicle within our family. Always been great. But who knows how the 23 crv and 24 pilot will be like.
Thanks for your input and sounds like you’re having a great experience and hopefully it stays that way. I’ll be looking into getting into one soon, maybe at the MMC.
Thanks for the updates! I know this video refers to the 2023 Pilot but as a side note, in 2016 we purchased a brand new Honda Pilot Touring with the 9at. It currently has 58,000 miles and to date we have had absolutely no issues with it. Hoping with regular maintenance, it continues that way for several years to come as these are not cheap vehicles
2k miles on my 2024. Like others said, transmission downshifts for no reason if u take your foot off the gas. But the shifting up is smooth. My wife loves it.
I use eco mode and seems to be the smoothest I've personally found so far. Might be a lower power curve, but is smooth for me. 2024 Elite.@@BCautosolutions
No issues on these Pilots for us yet, but we haven't sold too many Pilots. Really hope they fixed the rotor issues. On my 3rd set in my Passport. Really trying to hold out for a new gen Passport, but every time I drive a new Pilot I seriously consider it even though I have no use for a 3rd row. It drives amazing.
Yeah they drive real nice and i prefer over the 6 and 9at, for that reason alone it’s worth it. Excited to see what the new passport looks like but for me at this point of my life I need a 3rd row. Seems like your on the other side of that coin 👍🏻
@@BCautosolutions I am probably the only person that really likes the ZF9. Older ones were really bad, but my 21 shifts great. Haven't done a transmission replacement on one yet. Mostly just TCM and shift button issues like you said in the vid. Have done a few 10 speeds. The older 6 speeds are non stop issues lately.
'23 Pilot Elite with 4000 miles. Only issue we've had is the battery was drained over night. Took the vehicle to the dealer and they could not figure out what drained it. Great car so far. I'm not real big on the high engine rev when starting from a stopped position
Great review! When you think of all the moving parts and tech in todays cars, and that this is a first year production, those are very minimal problems IMO.
No problem so far with my 23 Elite with 2500 miles but will have the dealer fix the pull strap for the third row seat when the first service is due because the velcro is facing the wrong way so the strap won't stay put!
Great review as usual, sad to see gear shifter goes into buttons as you mentioned too risky near the cup holders, and a nightmare if you have kids in the car.
You should see what BMW does. They have heated and cooled cupholders. You don't even have to spill the drink for it to break. The condensation off the cup alone kills the electronics.
Only annoyance in my 2500miles of ownership is a rough 8-7 downshift while cruising around 60-70mph. Repeatable every time and many others on the forums have commented on the same issue . Very little assistance from dealers stating “it is a trait of the car”. Hopefully a software update in the future will address it. Not a huge annoyance but to a lifelong manual transmission driver, it feels like a gear grind and makes me cringe. Rest of the shifts are butter smooth and if you are more aggressive with the throttle at this speed, it drops to 6th gear which goes in smooth.
@@BCautosolutions on forums I have read such issues in both the 23 & 24 models. My 23’ doesn’t seem to exhibit this problem. Also it seems some of the transmissions are made in Mexico.
@@downgeard ok just checked a 01/2023 production date pilot and no updates available on engine or trans. Will check every few months to see if something comes out.

I wish the Pilot was also built in the Marysville plant where they currently build the RDX and MDX. I think that facility is better than the one in Alabama where the Pilot is built.
Tbh I talk to plenty of people both on service and body shop facilities and the build quality in the USA overall atleast for Honda and Acura is disappointing.
Appreciate the video! Looking to get the wife into a '24 later this year when interest rates come down. Especially with new cars and all the technology these days I think it's best avoiding the first model year of a redesign so they can work out the small issues.
Honda is offering 3.9% still, at least through the end of February. I don't know what credit score is required to qualify though. Money market accounts are paying 5% (for the time being) so that's what I did (take the 3.9% APR deal for 48 months.)
i have a 2023 Honda Pilot Trail sport, love your channel. I been looking for a video on how to install oil catch can, but can't find anything out there yet. i was wonder if you can do a video for it. Thank you
I have the Honda Pilot 2023 Elite. I too am also concerned about liquids and food dropping in the shifter console. I have had a very small accident or two wondering at which point will I see an issue. I did have an issue with Apple Car Play refusing to connect for about a week. And just like that the issue went away. Other than that…no issues and completely satisfied with my purchase. In it for the long term!
Happy New Year! If you have already covered (video) "sticky steering wheel" issue on some Honda and Acura vehicles, please point me in the right direction, so I can check it out. If not, could you please make a video about this, indicating the real issue and what is being done to remedy this. Thank you!
Happy new year. Yes I just made a video on this exact topic earlier this week, for now it’s just a civic inspection/replacement of steering rack recall.
Got our 23Elite at the beginning of Feb 23. We drive a lot and we're at 28k miles to date. Other than the puddle lights (known issue not exclusives to Pilots) being replaced at around 10k, there's been no issues. We had a 16 Pilot EXL that this replaced and it's light years ahead of the old generation cars.
@@BCautosolutions Thanks pal! Do you have a transmission fluid change video out? Looked through your videos and didn't see one. Need to do ours next oil change and want to see what I'm getting into.
Thanks very much for making this video - we just drove home a 2024 Pilot Elite yesterday, putting about 80 miles on it. Thankfully it was rattle-free (those really bug the crap out of me) as it should be brand new. Love it so far (for the 20 hours of ownership) 🙂 Do you know what running changes have been made on the assembly line since the 2023 came out? Hopefully those window problems have been addressed. Overall though it sounds like it's been a solid release of a brand new model. This is my first Honda, so I'm crossing my fingers that it will make me proud by running great for at least the next decade (we still have a 2001 Suburban so we keep our cars until the wheels fall off.) Quick question that you have probably addressed already: I'm a stickler for proactive maintenance, so, at what mileage would you recommend replacing the timing belt (and whatever is nearby)? I would much rather pay the price of the replacement belt versus the price of a new engine :-) :-) And what other maintenance do you suggest I do earlier than what the manual says? For example, I really like changing the oil on a new engine around 500 - 1,000 miles just to get any of the bits of metal that will come free like any other normal car engine. What do *you* suggest? And, if I pay for my own early oil change, will the Honda dealership change it (as part of the 2-year "free" maintenance) at the recommended interval, or must the light come on indicating 15% remaining oil life before they will do the change? So anything else that you think ought to be in the maintenance schedule that isn't, or ought to be at a more frequent interval, please let us all know. Thanks again, and Happy New Year!
First of all congrats and best luck. All the issues we encounter get reported back to Honda so hopefully they addressed those first year bugs and hiccups. I’m all about proactive maintenance, I have a video on this from a few months back. I personally like to do my first oil change at 1k, then at 2k, then every 3k from there one. Timing belt, water pump, and drive belt at 90-105k or at 7 year mark. It’s too early To tell if any seals may need to be addressed at that time due to the new vtc system but on the old engines (non vtc) no seals typically leaked with the exception of the oil pump seal, that’s a case by case situation. Keep up with the maintenance (all fluids every 30k, filters once a year, wipers every 6 months, rotates every other oil change and you should be in good shape. If you change your oil on your own and are trying to use the free maintenance just simply don’t reset the maintenance minder when doing your own oil changes and take it in when the 15% finally shows up.
@@BCautosolutionsThanks very much, I'll go find that video. What you say here sounds like excellent advice. I have an independent shop do my oil changes so I'll remind them not to reset the maintenance minder. Thanks again!
@@BCautosolutions Hey, thanks again for your help. In your initial reply to me, you said you have a video on maintenance. Our Elite has been solid overall until recently we noticed a water spot on the headliner. Pano roof leak they said it was the sunroof frame so they got that swapped out but still in shop since the headliner is on back order. Can’t wait to get it back been over a month.
@@BCautosolutionsup here in Canada where I’m located because of the snow and freezing rain, I get my vehicles without sunroof or panoroof due to those leaking concerns with any brand.

Hello! Love your videos, please keep sharing this important info. I have a 2023 Pilot EX-L that has been flawless until now. After taking the family to OCNJ for vacation I noticed when parking one night that the steering wheel/column was making a clicking sound when turning either way while parallel parking. Asked the wife if she heard this and she did also. We went to the boardwalk for a few hours and when we returned the steeringwas as quiet as usual. Weird right. Couple of nights later made the same drive and the clicking returned while parking! Came back 2 hrs later and no noise. Now it’s becoming a bit more frequent and I’m a little concerned. Others on the “piloteer”website have the same issue. I ran my VIN through the Honda website and no recall for steering rack on my model which was manufactured in 6/23. Have you heard of this issue and is there a fix? Been driving Hondas for 34 years and this is a first. Please advise, thank you!
@@JohnParke-s7h thanks for sharing! May be something as simple as a clock spring going bad. Take it to your local dealer and try to have the noise recorded before getting there. May help if they can’t duplicate on demand. Lmk what they come up with and best of luck!
i have the 2023 honda pilot base model and all my dashboard lights came on monday, went away then came back the next day. brought it into the dealership and was told the left rear wheel sensor needs to be replaced. i was told i was the 4th car to brought in for this issue - except the other 3 for the for the right rear wheel sensor. i have less than 5000 miles on mine and bought it in august
im having problems too I have 2023 pilot elite 4 times is been at the dealer, they change rear differential sensor. on the dashboard light saying "all wheel drive system problem only front wheels may be powered" they backorder on parts, they want to change the rear axel. honda pilot 2023 a lot of problems
I was able to fix my warped rotors on my 2020 Pilot by performing a brake bedding procedure. I was able to get the rotors hot enough to even out the brake pad material on the rotors. Still on the original pads and rotors with 87K kms (54K miles).
The fact that you gotta bed Honda brakes but not on any other manufacturer is crazy to me. Apparently people haven’t had brake issues on the 2023 Pilot though. Apparently they fixed this issue?
I have 18K miles on my elite. My puddle lights went out within a month. From what I hear the replacements stop working too, so I'm not even going to have them fixed. The other issue is when the HVAC fan is on during cold days something rattles until the cabin warms up. Again, not sure if it's even worth fixing. Plus it would be nearly impossible to replicate at the dealer by the time I drive there and it has warmed up. Other than that, I absolutely love my Pilot.
@@BCautosolutions As I'm slowing down I suppose it starts at 30 or 35 MPH, so I usually feel 2-3 gears grab. I've seen a few other people in the forums with the same issue.
thank you for all the videos, can you show me where the AC drainage hose on the 2023 Honda Pilot Trail sport. i notice a bad smell coming out of my AC. I like to clean out the drainage hose to see if it help. Thank you
Got a 2024 Pilot a months ago. Adaptive Cruise Control randomly disengages on dry day. Windshield liquid sensor keeps lighting up every time I break. Taking to a dealer next week.
Not intended to be a smart-ass comment, but is your windshield washer fluid topped off? I had this happen on other vehicles where the fluid is just at the right spot for the light to not come on when driving, but the minute you apply the brakes, the fluid shifts in the reservoir to activate the low fluid level sensor.
@@BCautosolutions took it to the dealer and they replaced the faulty sensor. They were not able to reproduce the cruise control issue. I suspect the cruise control overheats and disengages, but not sure how to prove it.
Great car so far but only have 2700 miles on it. The right side door did lock and wouldn't open. Scheduled for hinda to take a look at it but then it started to work again🤷♂️
Does this ruin the headliners? And if so are they replacing it? Looking at getting a ‘24 if I can get the right price. Would hate to smell or see any water damage after a faulty panoramic roof!

One BiG thing Irks me. Im in Canada and i got the 23 trailsport. It didnt come with all the 369 camera and other features like the US versions. I WISH i could have this corrected by Honda .
I have a tapping sound from the engine when I start it. Im not sure if it's lifter noise or direct injection. Is this normal? It does go away after the car is driven. Honda also short filled the oil by a qt which I'm not happy about.
My driver side puddle light just started flickering, and yeah it kinda makes it look a bit unreliable or cheap. When we first bought it the rear hatch harness was not staying attached/sealed where it enters the body and would have been letting water in coming off the roof, dealer fixed it quickly though.
I have 2023 model, I have had the puddle light issue twice on the front passenger door, also on the front passenger seat on the outboard side of the seat the plastic snap that holds the seat cover tight to the seat frame has come loose twice.
These newer engines seem to be thirsty for oil. My first oil change was done at 3k, which alert was given of low oil level of 50%. Current oil levels at 9k is 30% but I’m considering just adding oil cause honda care only covers 2 oil changes per year at due recommended 6k miles intervals. Bummer there are alot of issues in the first few thousand miles of owner ship. Starting to see they’re affecting the market value of these models and basically giving them out at drastically reduced below msrp prices these days since few many people would purchase them due to inventory build up and strategic production release.
Coming from toyota and changing into a pilot elit 23 from rav4 limited i can see the different pros and cons both brands have but overall quality control is very low on honda. Ny rav 4 was a model from japan not US or canada made, so quality control was tight but honda had paint spectcles i see fogging on my hood paint light painting over weld points. Welds not even grinded smooth is almost as if they were in a rush. Rear passenger seat had a big burn pattern like someone took an iron and pressed it against the seat. Honda dealer told me it was normal nd i can always have the seats changed under warranty "supposedly " My driver side puddle light went out. My driver rear seat in second row window shade rip off randomly and rolled back into the door. My passenger side roof rail had a loose weather strip somehow it came loose broke umoff and vonstantly whipped on the roof. Took it to the dealer they ripped it off and other new strip they said is on back order and i have to wait though. Ive nvr mounted anything on the roof racks so this was just failure. Maybe is a honda thing or a pilot thing but when you let go of the wheel the car always pulls left. I had 3 alignments done. Dont let them fool you with the automated aligment the machine reads when you bring your car into the honda dealer, most dealers have this new built in aligmenet in the floor where a computer reads your tire tread and alignemmet. I pused for a real alignemet done by the laser mavhine and they realized i did have a mis alginenent. They supposedly correct it but my car was still pulling left then they thought of aligning ny sterring wheel because my honda badge on my sterring whel was crooked. Car still pulls to the left. I gave up. The automatic cruise control, dont count on it it works when it wants to work. Itl pick days where the car whil drive onto another lane without reason. Is not consitent on my toyota i was able to let it steer without issues as long as is not a hard curve but with honda i cant trust it. All i can is the pilot is very spvious and is something toyotras dont really offer since they go for the low roof sporty roof. I tested it in the snow storm we had here in ny yesterday and there where some scary moments but regained control. It did well. I dont like the hard set safety features. The car wont accelerate if your door is ajar or open. Sometimes itl let you but innan emergency this can be fatal if your tryna run away from say.. a wild animal if your offroading or camping or a zombie hoard. Your car wont take offf because someone in panic left the door open. That to me is stupid. Also auto start will cool the car to 72 degrees only. Toyota lets u autor start and the car cools to wme setting you had it as in full balat ac on a hot day. I appreciate the setting it has on autostart for einter time , if is less than 42 degreess itl trun on the heated sterring wheel heared seats and heat the car to 72 degrees. I also appreciate honda giving us for free the roll down windows with key remote option. Sometjing toyota would charge you for. Like i said , theres pros and cons. If you get an elite please know the car is going to sag on the left read side. The rear left wheel has a compartment above it for the wheel replacement items, so the metal jack and bar and other equipemnt is all located there thus creating weight on the suspension so the car sags a little so dont go thinkin u have a bad tire or your suspension is bad. I advise you blast the heat on your new pilot when you get it to stress out the heater and get whatever new fumes it may produce. It is very toxic. When i started using the heat there would be times id get this horrible smeel of like burnt rubber or wires in the car. I assumed it was the heater off gasing since i got the car in the summer and i am now in the winter time. Ofgas it so u dont have to deal with it with your family. If your curious to what this smell is like youl always smell it when you step out of the car for soem reaosn when you get out of th pilot theres this heat wave under the car it bruns your legs and has a mechanical burnt smell. Same smell that sneaks inside the cabin with the heater. But is always there atleast in my pilot elite.
Even though I don’t’ have a pilot I’m making a comment because someone else might experience this issue. Have a 22 Passport, interior drivers side and passenger door handles are intermittently difficult to open, they just have a lot of resistance when actuating them and then most time they work normal. Just curious if you have seen this. Thanks
Yeah could well be. I think it’s a mixed bag here of reasons although none of them that truly concern me at this point. We shall see how they unfold long term tho.
Love my 2023 Honda pilot touring, no issues until today saw multiple errors including “transmission system problems and blind spot system problems” while the ‘D’ flashed between D and P. @@BCautosolutionsI stopped the car for a good 45 minutes and parked in shade and the error messages disappeared. I do live in fort Lauderdale Florida, and it very hot here at the moment. So i was wondering if the temperature may have anything to do with it.
Because despite how updated it is, it's still a "J Series" engine. They have all had timing belts since introduced in 1996. It's technically not a brand new/all new engine.
Why timing chain? When I was looking to buy the Pathfinder the chain is recommended to be changed 88k to 120k miles. The Pilot every 60k miles to 100k miles or every 7yrs. My friend had a B18/B20 turbo charged Type R(DC 2, JDM) making 570whp running on a timing belt and that never gave. I had built B16/B20 NA EK3 (JDM) running 215whp on the factory timing belt no issues for years. We blew engines and gearboxes before a belt ever gave up. In fact Honda been run timing belts since the 60s. Now I moved to NA where there is a fear with timing belts and Turbos..why?
'Cuz timing belts are keewwwl! Complete the ensemble with a choke, spark-regulator, and a carburetor... and add an extra $10k to the MSRP. Or, just find an old Citation X-11 for kicks-n-giggles.
Done 2 engines at our dealer already. Same issue. Comprised rear bank head gasket. Both vehicles. Both had a split in the gasket in the same spot. Almost like when assembling the gasket they folded it. Other than that no real issues that arent major.
Appreciate your input, where was the split exactly? To be clear, short block and back head was replaced and sent back for research? Also were they overheating with coolant loss, misfiring, etc? Thanks
Honda wanted the engine intact. So both got long blocks. 1 was torn down and the other was replaced due to the same reason. We could put a scope in the cylinder and see exactly where the coolant was leaking. Matched the previous one we had torn apart. Concerns were no heat in cabin in the rear and white smoke on start up. No overheating. Split was right dead center along the rear gasket. Perfectly center on the middle cylinder hole. Top to bottom of gasket. Literally like it was folded.
@Hondamobilemechanic crazy part is the vins were twins. Made according to the VIN, right after one another. I don't think it will be an issue, likely just manufacturing error. Keep up the good work, love watching your videos!
Bought ours new a year ago…so far: leaking sunroof (dealer had it for 2-1/2 months waiting on parts). New headliner replacement, drivers seat motor failure, front windshield factory defect with spots in between laminated glass was replaced, rear brake light trim piece replaced because it was falling off…and only 10k miles. Worst Honda we have had. And that is a shame because we have bought Hondas for years.
5,600+ miles in and no issues mechanically. Will keep an eye on the seals. Only issue I’ve had is the front passenger regulator being changed under warranty. Seemed to have been an issue from factory as that was noted the first time I used the window during rainfall. Only other issue to bring to the dealers attention are the seam sealers. A few of them on the doors have not been applied properly. My driver’s door has this amd it’s usually where there are angles. I am aware of others having this as well (have seen pics). Seems to have improved as my friends 24 models doesn’t have it.

Puddle light burn out after 2 weeks we got it. Now after 2 months the other puddle light burn out now too. Spray nozzle for the front camera is missing when we got it. Guy at honda service told that is the way it. Need to take a picture of the pilot in their showroom that mine has missing nozzle.
1 year and 20,000 miles on the odometer. Another 2 burnt out puddle lights. 3rd row headrest mechanism internally broke, warranty work for the dealer to tear apart the seat to replace it. Radio connectivity is less than stellar. Takes awhile for it to boot up. Gas mileage is definitely less than my 20 Pilot. Nice car but so many dumb little problems. I opted for the 120k extended warranty from Saccucci Honda online, a lot cheaper than the selling dealer.

Interesting suggestion. I have a 2020 RDX with the 2.0 turbo and it is a very torquey engine in low RPMs and has strong power. Smooth, too. Doubt it would be much of a gas mileage gain, however, over the V6.

My 23 Pilot had a missing tire pressure sensor. I think it was scarier than serious but they took care of it and my car has been trouble free for a year, 12K, and I am happy with my decision. I did a lot of research on this engine before I signed on the dotted line. ‘Love your videos! Thank you!
That’s bizarre for sure. Awesome to hear the positive experience, thanks and best of luck.
A tire pressure sensor? That's like a $5 part. 10 years ago, we never had tire pressure sensors. We would actually spend 60 seconds and measure all 4 tires manually with a pressure gauge.

@@avery4528 yeah the concept is great but real world application is not realistic. Thanks for sharing

This is my first Honda, so I'm crossing my fingers that it will make me proud by running great for at least the next decade (we still have a 2001 Suburban so we keep our cars until the wheels fall off.)
Quick question that you have probably addressed already: I'm a stickler for proactive maintenance, so, at what mileage would you recommend replacing the timing belt (and whatever is nearby)?
It’s too early
To tell if any seals may need to be addressed at that time due to the new vtc system but on the old engines (non vtc) no seals typically leaked with the exception of the oil pump seal, that’s a case by case situation.

These newer engines seem to be thirsty for oil. My first oil change was done at 3k, which alert was given of low oil level of 50%. Welds not even grinded smooth is almost as if they were in a rush.
Rear passenger seat had a big burn pattern like someone took an iron and pressed it against the seat. Honda dealer told me it was normal nd i can always have the seats changed under warranty "supposedly "

Thanks
I have not seen that particular issue. I would take it to your local dealer, possible something going on with the latch or cable.
@3:19 that’s what she said! But in all seriousness, are some of these quality issues related to the auto worker’s struck that’s been going on?
Yeah could well be. I think it’s a mixed bag here of reasons although none of them that truly concern me at this point. We shall see how they unfold long term tho.

Very odd, have not had any issues otherwise and will be asking the dealership about it as when i take it for an oil change very soon. Would love to know your thoughts ow if anyone else has seen this.

Surprised that they kept a timing belt. Why not go to a timing chain.
Because despite how updated it is, it's still a "J Series" engine. They have all had timing belts since introduced in 1996. It's technically not a brand new/all new engine.
Don't wanna spend money on R&D
@@sizzlacalunjibecause it’s an expensive maintenance item every 100k miles and you don’t have to worry with timing chains?
'Cuz timing belts are keewwwl! Complete the ensemble with a choke, spark-regulator, and a carburetor... and add an extra $10k to the MSRP.
Or, just find an old Citation X-11 for kicks-n-giggles.
Is it normal for the rear brake pads to wear out faster than the front in a 10th gen accord?
Yes it is
Done 2 engines at our dealer already.

@@curtisjordan9210 the earth dreams (besides the incorrect bearing ones) have been ultra reliable. Vcm has not been an issue
@@BCautosolutions Here’s a summary of Honda’s VCM issues from 2018 to 2024:
- **2018-2019 Honda Accord, Pilot, Odyssey**: Engine misfires, rough idling, and hesitation when VCM switched cylinders. Many owners also saw the **Check Engine Light** come on, and the system caused uneven engine wear.
- **2020 Honda Ridgeline**: Jerky transitions between cylinder modes and **increased oil consumption** were the main complaints, causing engine wear.
- **2021-2022 Honda Pilot, Accord**: VCM problems persisted with rough transitions and engine misfires, even though Honda began to move away from the system in favor of turbocharged engines.
- **2023-2024 Honda Pilot**: Reports of **transmission lag** and **engine misfires** continued, and some users had to replace wiring harnesses. VCM-related issues have led some owners to disable the system themselves.
These problems have continued without being fully resolved...
@@curtisjordan9210 nope
@@BCautosolutions So, you hit me with a simple “nope” like I'm wrong? Sounds like someone is in denial.
Honda’s Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) issues have been widely reported for **years**-this isn't me making things up. Here’s the cold, hard truth:
- **2018-2019 models** (Accord, Pilot, Odyssey) had **engine misfires**, **rough idling**, and issues with the VCM system causing **uneven engine wear**. It’s not a small issue, it’s documented by owners and mechanics alike.
- **2020 models** (like the Ridgeline) had problems with **jerky transitions** between cylinder modes and **increased oil consumption**, causing engine wear.
- **2023-2024 Honda Pilots** are still seeing reports of **engine misfires**, transmission lag, and wiring harness failures that have left cars in the shop for weeks.
These problems have been brought up repeatedly by drivers, forums, and mechanics. People are even disabling the system themselves because Honda hasn’t properly fixed it.
So, why exactly are you in denial? Do the homework, and stop ignoring the facts.
@@curtisjordan9210 yes most of those things you listed are:
Injector failures for misfires
Horrible trans maintenance causing the fluid to burn out and drivings horribly
Failed torque converters
And a normal vcm/non vcm transition which Honda has done a great job mitigating.
Poor oil change practices (partially due to Hondas horrible algo) lead to more issues than anything.
