- Chair Yoga 28 Day Series - Some Seated, More Standing. In today’s practice, we’ll explore poses for our 28 day journey including seated revolved Crescent lunge. You’ll only need a chair for today’s class.
Welcome to Bottoms Down Chair Yoga. I’m Carol and I’m happy you’ve chosen to spend this time together to stretch, lengthen and strengthen your body.
This 33 minute yoga practice is day 16 of our 28 day yoga journey together. Join us as we build our practice from the ground up. We warm up gently and center our work on our breath and mindful movements to build strength and improve focus.
You’ll only need a chair. We’ll start seated and move to a standing position and return to seated.

My wife and I are doing this together..... we are really enjoying it. We are sadly taking the night off due to our walking program..... 7 miles today. I am afraid to stand. But we will continue tomorrow and get our butts in the seats. THANK YOU SO MUCH

I'll add my grateful thanks for your generous service Carol. I am feeling so much more limber and strong, along with quiet heart and clear thinking! I am building strength for a knee replacement later in the year and this is working well.

Well I am a little confused!! I was unable to do my usual practice yesterday morning, as I had to leave the house quite early, so I was really looking forward to continuing with Day 14. At the end, you mentioned it was the end of Day 16! It was a great practice! So, tomorrow, I will need to go back to Day 14l Thank you Carol! Namaste xx

Just completed Day 16 and so enjoying these virtual classes, can see how much it has progressed from Day 1.
Unfortunately I haven't managed to give myself 30 minutes each day otherwise would have nearly been to Day 28!

From the first shoulder drop I knew this would feel amazing. I skipped a day because I went to Savannah and spent time with daughter, when I showed her one of your videos and she shared with me one of hers. I am noticing first side explanations are typically longer workout than second side follow up and it’s usually my second side which is much tighter than my first so will try to start with my “off” side in future and see how that works for me. Otherwise I need to keep punching pause to give me more time in second side, though that worked too. Thx!

Hello! I really love this workout chair yoga! I am with you in day 16, it is the first time practicing yoga so my balance is not good, any advice to work on my balance? Thank you and greetings from Portugal!
Welcome my friend from Portugal! I'm so glad you are joining us. Balance is a challenge for many of us. The key is to keep working on it and practicing. It will get better, I promise, if you keep working at it. There is a playlist on the Bottoms Down TH-cam channel that focuses on balance. 🤔having trouble with (don’t remember the name of the pose🙄let’s just say the sit-up in the chair😏) my feet keep coming up 😬can you HELP😏, now can I work up to it?

Hello! It's very common for people's feet to want to lift during "Good Mornings". It's a matter of working on it, strengthening the core muscles so that the hips and hip flexors stay out of it. The hip flexors are very strong and just want to help. Keep focused on keeping the feet down, build a little more strength in the abdominal muscles and you'll get there! Keep up the great work.
If I have a problem doing certain poses, should I re do that certain day until I can do it? When I don't do one properly, I get discouraged n it literally makes me want to cry.
Please don't be so hard on yourself. I try to give enough modifications and variations so that you can find a way to feel successful in every class. There are many, many poses that I can't do well. But I know that there are also many poses that I can do well. So I focus on my successes. I see no benefit in repeating a class just to master a specific pose, unless it's something you feel in your heart you want to do. Be gentle with yourself and enjoy the journey. I hope this helps and keep me posted.
