- This is a hard to find ration, generously provided by BlackDogBob from MREinfo.com. This calorie dense 24 hour ration was a delight to explore. I was told that Steve1989 will be reviewing a Menu B soon, so check that out. Also, Crombat Rations reviewed a UN Halal menu A.

You're fast :). Thanks for the shout out! Also if you want add as annotation there is 3xVegetarian and 3xHindu beside 3xHalal and 3xWestern menues. If you know commercial product similar to this Isotonic drink please let me know. That chocolate isn't the best even when it looks new. UN ration was my first bigger unknown ration to explore and it's still one of the best in my opinion. Beside some strange decisions they made like including only one wet napkin in it and just one set of cutlery.

I've always found it fascinating to be provided the nutritional information on a meal that you would be consuming in a disaster moment in your life.
Admiral Preparedness these are required to provide not only a caloric requirement, but a nutritional balance to meet military requirements. On some US MRE items, there is even a graphic to explain the importance of maintaining this balance in terms of performance and stamina.
I just wonder how many really read the information while consuming them. Good to have it on the packaging if they are bored and need something to read. :)

Well if you used American's, i'd be mostly fat and diabetes.
This menu should give your guts a workout, chilli, beans, fibre drink, sugar free sweets that are basically a laxative, the perfect combo for a day on the 'throne' :)

The vanilla cake actually looked better than many others I've watched. Especially considering it was technically out of date.

Very interesting ration. I wonder who it is issued to and under what circumstances. Humanitarian? Armies who don't provide their own rations? UN Peacekeepers? The latter seems most likely.

Lots of food, LOTS of beans good review and you need a medal for downing all those beans and chick peas.
Yeah you've got to watch out for those sugar free sweets. I once had some sugar free fruit slices they were individually wrapped for a reason it only took 3 to clear me out. Very tasty though probably tastier than the ones with sugar.

If you're ever constipated, have yourself some of those sugar-free candies. "Mild laxative effect"? Hell, nooooooo! As a Type 2 diabetic, I accidently had one too many sugar-free candies when I first got diagnosed with diabetes. I spent three days in the bathroom. Wow! I never did that ever again! Werther's makes some pretty damn good sugar-free candies.
seeing as the U.N. would use European based items, I'm going to guess that the coffee is from Germany so using the whole 8 oz pack of sugar with it wouldn't make it too sweet. I'd be interested to see if one of the two remaining western menus has a proper breakfast meal.

I don't think you needed to eat the beans and the chilli together they could have made an extra for breakfast .
But that's a decent size ration foshor you could streach that a few days if needed
I don't know why these are kept scarce, they could sell a million of them.
I wish civilian M.R.E.'s in the USA made those isotonic drink powders with little or no food coloring. I think Americans get too weirded out if a dry powder drink doesn't "look" like grape or cherry. I think we rely much too heavily on artificial taste/color.

haricot beans tend not to have flavour, may be confusing in that beans lacking the usual spice blend.
Wonder why they would put sugar free sweets in MRE, troops would need the energy from sugar not the fluxes from too much isomalt. Suspect UN must of got good discount on large amount of them.
J Baldwin my guess is for the laxative effect--but there's so much fiber in this ration that it doesn't seem like constipation would be as much of a problem with this rat.
