This sure bring me back when I was in "Lumpen" :D haha there is a reason with Pasta with Meat sauce, it supposed to be a "Bland food" in Sweden like "everyday food".
Another one is "Ärt soppa" pea soup, that give you nasty smelling fart.
Also Coffee is a must in Scandinavia after Breakfast and Lunch. You can really piss off a Swede if they don't get coffee after lunch in which they expect the coffee to be "included" in the lunch menu.
A tin of surstromming and some tunnbrod would be appropriate.
giving such a lovely combat ration tells me that the Swedes clearly love their troops!

I wish the American main entrees were this size and the meals look like they have a home cooked look. I do like the porridge deal that beats anything we can field. But wow 4000+ calories. I'd be using your daughter for taste testing as "Lil' Miss Gusto" it would be interesting to see how kids view these meals. Love the homage to Steve 1989, great vid.
Donald Parlett jr I would involve my kids, but kiwidude already does that. I try not to copy as much as possible in this niche

Great review as always. That Orifo company sure gets around, they're in Scandinavian, German, Austrian and British rations and it's all good quality. If I saw any of their stuff in the supermarket, I'd be buying it.

Nearly identical to Finnish Defence Forces rations they had in 2016 when I did my year of conscription. Those ones also had blå band meals, beef jerky, fazer gums, those exact same nuts, etc.
If I remember correctly the price for 24h ration is around 90€, if items are picked up individually (everything in there can be found in grocery stores and are commercial items).
There was not a single time I could eat everything included in one day, there was so much food in there. :D
Minor additional info: This seems to be a Generation 6 ration. 24H Meals don't print it anywhere on their bags, but I'm pretty sure it's a Gen 6. For a 4-course ration you managed to make a nice compact review! Working on a 4 course review myself, but I'm already past 40 minutes and not done yet :(
I may be late but the ration is used with flameless heaters supplied separatly. They got included in later issues.

Great review !! Da Svedish cook also ! Disregard the bullshit messages friend. Keep up the good work ! All meals good, but, Chicken Korma and potato , and , the Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pasta entrees ruled the show however. All other items did look good !!!!!!!!!! The Jerky bites, remind me of the ones in the Canadian IMP's. Very hard ! Ok., and Ky., Both are in the way of the lovely weather this time of year. Tornado Alley. I continue to enjoy, yours, and all the other reviewers. Most of us appreciate the time, effort, expense, time away from family, you all go through, to do this for us subscribers. Sexual Shaq I try not to waste food. Typically, I film these 24hr reviews over the course of a full day, so that's my food for the day. However, this was double what I eat on a heavy day, so I shared some with my kids (they love the sweet stuff), saved other parts for later.
I think we can now all saftely assume the political ideology of Gusto's viewerbase based upon their comments.

I'm also coming here via Steve 1989 and I must say that I really like RC Gusto's style and presentation. Cannot stand the review shows, where the presenter always shouts and exaggerates everything. This here (and Steve's of course) is comprehensive, interesting and strangely comforting to watch. Keep up the good work!

The company that makes these said they could ship a full case to Canada... but the total cost with shippint... excessive to say the least. Haha
BTemple yeah, for some reason, I had a heck of a time finding this. Took a few months to track one down
the "spread" is not a sandwich spread, its a candy item, you bite the corner off and squeeze it into your mouth.

That is one hell of a ration. An individual soldier could stretch that into two days without being too hungry. I bet special forces could get a week out of that pouch.
M Ouija it was a massive pack. It's easily double what I usually eat in a day
They are huge for a simple reason. the Artic weather, you will easily burn 2x the amounts of calories a day walking in snow up to your knees then if your out for a stroll anywhere else. :)

Im thinking that 'coating' on the last lot of peanuts is actually part of their shell. and that shell has absorbed the flavours

CAT G.Blondecat the coating was a almost like a batter of flavorings. Not a natural part of the peanut. But it was good.
I usually film throughout the day and the items are my meals for the day. However, these gigantic rations are way more than I eat in a day, so I save parts for later. I also share some with my kids. They love the sweet stuff.
Hey, where's that special ration for cold weather(or something like that)? the one where you put a powder beverage tablet in your mouth (Cause you thought it was a vitamin supplement), screamed, and edited it out? I can't find it...(was it another Swedish ration?)

Well they are rare but not that rare we reviewed one last summer and Synthpeter did i too in the meantime. I think Drew got this ration from us, so this was Mali batch made for Swedish UN in Africa we got from our friends working for UN in Bamako.
Crombat Rations relatively speaking here...I've been trying to find one of these for months. It's probably a function of my relatively few contacts.

This was one of the first international rations we reviewed, this 4 course and UN Halal. Strange but this bag designs keep stuff inside safer then the boxed rations...

Nice video dude! "Nice hiss" is a nice inside joke :D I tried US MRE from 2016 menu Meatballs with marinara sauce, the MRE was pretty blant and it only smelled good but had no taste. Thought it will be better.
Peanut butter was thick because you didn't kneed it. And you don't pronounce the h in wheat.

its a hazelnut type of candy spread, We can buy it in most of our stores and we just eat it as it is, not on bread or anything
Yes, we have something similar called Nutella in the States. There have been a couple times where I just took a spoon and ate the stuff out of the jar.

An observation many MRE type rations outside the US seem to have more natural things.
I tried this week a dehydrated chicken teriyaki from mountain house. It was pretty good but reminded me of those canned lachoy Asian noodles and canned veggies and sauce.

Here in Scandinavia it's not common to drink coffee with cream and sugar, which may explain the lack of any sugar or creamer for the coffee. We tend to drink it black.
I would eat everything but the hazelnut spread. It would take me a few days.

Pretty disheartening to see the Swedish government is just as motivated by money as the good ol' USA. What kind of combat situation would it be advisable to carry around BRIGHT RED packaging?
Grape? Who the flip flavours sweeties grape? Nice fruits but subtle taste unsuitable for sucking sweets imo. Sympathy @ USA

I think this ration was mispacked, I think you received one too many isotonic drinks, but they stiffed you on the hot chocolate.

Idk why but it pissed me off when he said it calls for 500 ml of water and his cup only holds 400 except i saw heaps more space in tbe cup 😭 and you hardly ate any breakfast at least steve eats the entire tray

Why did they label it all in English ?
Shane K I believe because everyone is in NATO and they have it that way in case soldiers from other nations are eating them. Same in France and Spanish ones etc. I believe I heard that from gundog in a review is his.
In US most things are in English Spanish French since so much trading w Mexico Us and Canada who have French speakers.

Good point RC Gusto. Just saying America out of all the countries has the biggest weight issues. It stems from the fact that many Americans think a family size bag of chips is one serving. Some claim they can't help it. I call bullshit on that. You can help it just stop eating whatever it is when you have had enough to satisfy your hinger. :)
