Great review as always. That Orifo company sure gets around, they're in Scandinavian, German, Austrian and British rations and it's all good quality. If I saw any of their stuff in the supermarket, I'd be buying it.
Nearly identical to Finnish Defence Forces rations they had in 2016 when I did my year of conscription. Those ones also had blå band meals, beef jerky, fazer gums, those exact same nuts, etc. If I remember correctly the price for 24h ration is around 90€, if items are picked up individually (everything in there can be found in grocery stores and are commercial items). There was not a single time I could eat everything included in one day, there was so much food in there. :D
I wish the American main entrees were this size and the meals look like they have a home cooked look. I do like the porridge deal that beats anything we can field. But wow 4000+ calories. I'd be using your daughter for taste testing as "Lil' Miss Gusto" it would be interesting to see how kids view these meals. Love the homage to Steve 1989, great vid.
Awesome review RC! Great looking items, I'm trying to track down some of these myself. The company that makes these said they could ship a full case to Canada... but the total cost with shippint... excessive to say the least. Haha
Minor additional info: This seems to be a Generation 6 ration. 24H Meals don't print it anywhere on their bags, but I'm pretty sure it's a Gen 6. For a 4-course ration you managed to make a nice compact review! Working on a 4 course review myself, but I'm already past 40 minutes and not done yet :(
Nice video dude! "Nice hiss" is a nice inside joke :D I tried US MRE from 2016 menu Meatballs with marinara sauce, the MRE was pretty blant and it only smelled good but had no taste. Thought it will be better.
I'm also coming here via Steve 1989 and I must say that I really like RC Gusto's style and presentation. Cannot stand the review shows, where the presenter always shouts and exaggerates everything. This here (and Steve's of course) is comprehensive, interesting and strangely comforting to watch. Keep up the good work!
This sure bring me back when I was in "Lumpen" :D haha there is a reason with Pasta with Meat sauce, it supposed to be a "Bland food" in Sweden like "everyday food". Another one is "Ärt soppa" pea soup, that give you nasty smelling fart. Also Coffee is a must in Scandinavia after Breakfast and Lunch. You can really piss off a Swede if they don't get coffee after lunch in which they expect the coffee to be "included" in the lunch menu.
Sexual Shaq I try not to waste food. Typically, I film these 24hr reviews over the course of a full day, so that's my food for the day. However, this was double what I eat on a heavy day, so I shared some with my kids (they love the sweet stuff), saved other parts for later.
That raspberry energy bar looks great. I would have put the peanuts in with the potatoes for the lunch bit, but that's me. Keep up the good work Gusto!
Here in Scandinavia it's not common to drink coffee with cream and sugar, which may explain the lack of any sugar or creamer for the coffee. We tend to drink it black.
That is one hell of a ration. An individual soldier could stretch that into two days without being too hungry. I bet special forces could get a week out of that pouch.
They are huge for a simple reason. the Artic weather, you will easily burn 2x the amounts of calories a day walking in snow up to your knees then if your out for a stroll anywhere else. :)
Wow I am a grown man and that ration could take me two days almost to eat. Well I guess the people this is designed for are soldiers and the country is cold. Still a bunch of food though. Do the isotonic beverages similar to Powerade or Gatorade in the US??? I guess you said more tart than sweet. I think korma is either an Indian or Pakistani dish. I was wondering if the pasta was supposed to be like the American version of Asian food. Like sweet sour pork??? An observation many MRE type rations outside the US seem to have more natural things. I tried this week a dehydrated chicken teriyaki from mountain house. It was pretty good but reminded me of those canned lachoy Asian noodles and canned veggies and sauce. Great job RC Gusto😉 have you considered Patreon??? I would pledge a dollar or two.
Great review !! Da Svedish cook also ! Disregard the bullshit messages friend. Keep up the good work ! All meals good, but, Chicken Korma and potato , and , the Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pasta entrees ruled the show however. All other items did look good !!!!!!!!!! The Jerky bites, remind me of the ones in the Canadian IMP's. Very hard ! Ok., and Ky., Both are in the way of the lovely weather this time of year. Tornado Alley. I continue to enjoy, yours, and all the other reviewers. Most of us appreciate the time, effort, expense, time away from family, you all go through, to do this for us subscribers. Peace, John, Magnum !! Be safe.
Well they are rare but not that rare we reviewed one last summer and Synthpeter did i too in the meantime. I think Drew got this ration from us, so this was Mali batch made for Swedish UN in Africa we got from our friends working for UN in Bamako.
This was one of the first international rations we reviewed, this 4 course and UN Halal. Strange but this bag designs keep stuff inside safer then the boxed rations... www.mreinfo.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5721 the one I had www.mreinfo.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6780&hilit=
emoanarchist96 I looked for this one for a few months. You can search for that brand--just usually can't ship to the US. You can check out the forums on mreinfo also
firehair4d I try not to waste food--these are usually my meals for the day...filmed throughout the day. I usually eat the rest off camera and share the sweets with my kids
Yes, we have something similar called Nutella in the States. There have been a couple times where I just took a spoon and ate the stuff out of the jar.
Hey, where's that special ration for cold weather(or something like that)? the one where you put a powder beverage tablet in your mouth (Cause you thought it was a vitamin supplement), screamed, and edited it out? I can't find it...(was it another Swedish ration?) wait, found it. thought you deleted it for a sec lol... Yeah it wasn't Swedish it was dutch...
Bryce Piper I try not to waste food. I usually shoot these 24hr packs throughout the day and this is my food for the day. However, this is double what I usually eat on a heavy day, so I shared some with my kids (they love the sweet stuff) and saved some for later.
smooth peanut butter - Yuck. Give me crunchy / on the topic of peanuts, the US rations dont have salt in them Whatttt ??? Yes. Yes Im a spoilt princess whom wants salt and crunchy Peanuts Im thinking that 'coating' on the last lot of peanuts is actually part of their shell. and that shell has absorbed the flavours Do you eat the rest of the meal off camera ? Good Review, thanks
CAT G.Blondecat the coating was a almost like a batter of flavorings. Not a natural part of the peanut. But it was good. I usually film throughout the day and the items are my meals for the day. However, these gigantic rations are way more than I eat in a day, so I save parts for later. I also share some with my kids. They love the sweet stuff.
Shane K I believe because everyone is in NATO and they have it that way in case soldiers from other nations are eating them. Same in France and Spanish ones etc. I believe I heard that from gundog in a review is his. In US most things are in English Spanish French since so much trading w Mexico Us and Canada who have French speakers.
Idk why but it pissed me off when he said it calls for 500 ml of water and his cup only holds 400 except i saw heaps more space in tbe cup 😭 and you hardly ate any breakfast at least steve eats the entire tray
Young Bodybuilder They're super rare. There's a review online of one single component of a Turkish MRE, but they're next to impossible to get since Turkey doesn't let them be sold and they take it very seriously.
I love how you guys are quoting Steve1989, goes to show how infectious his quotes are.
nice!
CthulhuInc - Double Nice 👍
nice hiss
Marth he's been my biggest supporter. Just a great dude and a wealth of knowledge on the subject
RC Gusto - Yeah, he's really an expert, but he knows how to have fun with it too.
I officially lost my shit at "Nice hiss"....great video, m8!
Love your descriptions, and the steve1989 quote got me laughing lol thanks for the awesome reviews!
giving such a lovely combat ration tells me that the Swedes clearly love their troops!
J.R. Caldoon good stuff!
Great review as always. That Orifo company sure gets around, they're in Scandinavian, German, Austrian and British rations and it's all good quality. If I saw any of their stuff in the supermarket, I'd be buying it.
Hi im from sweden just found you and subscribed from you first video i watched. Keep up the good work👍👍👍
Razernils welcome and thank you!
LOL Love the Swedish chef. Great review, love these rations. Food looks great
Great review, everything looks really good. Enjoying these cant wait for more ;)
I may be late but the ration is used with flameless heaters supplied separatly. They got included in later issues.
Martin H thank you for the intel!
Nearly identical to Finnish Defence Forces rations they had in 2016 when I did my year of conscription. Those ones also had blå band meals, beef jerky, fazer gums, those exact same nuts, etc.

Donald Parlett jr I would involve my kids, but kiwidude already does that. I try not to copy as much as possible in this niche
RC Gusto I know but I thought I'd suggest it as kids can be a bit unpredictable ( I have two boys)
@@rcgusto2427 not like he does anymore
Awesome review RC!
Great looking items, I'm trying to track down some of these myself.
The company that makes these said they could ship a full case to Canada... but the total cost with shippint... excessive to say the least. Haha
BTemple yeah, for some reason, I had a heck of a time finding this. Took a few months to track one down
Minor additional info: This seems to be a Generation 6 ration. 24H Meals don't print it anywhere on their bags, but I'm pretty sure it's a Gen 6. For a 4-course ration you managed to make a nice compact review! Working on a 4 course review myself, but I'm already past 40 minutes and not done yet :(
so fun to watch your videos RC..cheers
Coincidently, I own the exact same knife that you used to open up the pack. Great to see a new video!
Travis Gilmore that's my edc knife. I like kershaw.
RC Gusto its quite a good knife. I absolutely love mine
Nice video dude! "Nice hiss" is a nice inside joke :D I tried US MRE from 2016 menu Meatballs with marinara sauce, the MRE was pretty blant and it only smelled good but had no taste. Thought it will be better.
I had to laugh when I saw the Muppet thumbnail. Brilliant.
TheStwat glad you liked it

Love this big MREs. Great video.
Great review, thank you !
A tin of surstromming and some tunnbrod would be appropriate.
This sure bring me back when I was in "Lumpen" :D haha there is a reason with Pasta with Meat sauce, it supposed to be a "Bland food" in Sweden like "everyday food".

Really great detailed review, well done.
Do you eat it all or toss. It seem like a waste if you toss it all.
Btw, you and steve1989 vids are so informative and relaxing. Love your content!
Sexual Shaq I try not to waste food. Typically, I film these 24hr reviews over the course of a full day, so that's my food for the day. However, this was double what I eat on a heavy day, so I shared some with my kids (they love the sweet stuff), saved other parts for later.
I had one of these and it was truly exceptional
That raspberry energy bar looks great. I would have put the peanuts in with the potatoes for the lunch bit, but that's me. Keep up the good work Gusto!
Mark Barnett it was very good. Thanks for watching!
Here in Scandinavia it's not common to drink coffee with cream and sugar, which may explain the lack of any sugar or creamer for the coffee. We tend to drink it black.
Great job. I wonder how many pounds you put on with that gigantic package. And I can safely say we ALL look forward to more help from the bunchkin!
Rocky Raab thanks! I felt rather heavy after reviewing this one
Rocky Raab. Ha ha, I was just thinking the same thing. I would have to shoot that video over two days because I just couldn't handle that much food.
I had the same reaction as your baby. I giggled a bit when the peanut butter tooted! Lol!
Good review man !
very nice video....and great charity!
That is one hell of a ration. An individual soldier could stretch that into two days without being too hungry. I bet special forces could get a week out of that pouch.
M Ouija it was a massive pack. It's easily double what I usually eat in a day
They are huge for a simple reason. the Artic weather, you will easily burn 2x the amounts of calories a day walking in snow up to your knees then if your out for a stroll anywhere else. :)
_"Zwei peanuts were walking down the strasse, and one was assaulted...peanut."_
the "spread" is not a sandwich spread, its a candy item, you bite the corner off and squeeze it into your mouth.
FE NG that's good to know! Thanks for watching
Great job. Keep it up dude.
The licorice hard candy was salty, was it made out of sugar?
I like how you mentioned the storm in Oklahoma, we hardly got anything.
LocJope where in OK were you?
Noble.
love the moomin wrapper
Dang it! I was hoping there was sone sort of awesome influence from the Swedish Chief! 😆
We need a USA distributor for these !
They have a vegan ration i need! Great video buddy!
that drank looks like it glows in the dark
Now there's an MRE that would satisfy for sure! Stay safe down there in "Tornado Alley"

Licorice is popular all over Europe. The Dutch love it as well.
You nearly had me ROFL with the "Nice Hiss" .........

I subbed and I came from steve1989 channel
What kinds of circumstances *non arrmy* would you eat these meals for? are they practical for camping?
khryssy B they are fantastic for camping/hiking
Thank you for replying! Will see if i can grab some online - thank you RC x
khryssy B if you want the freshest/longest shelf life, look at XMRE or Meal Kit Supply. Essentially same as US MREs
Awesome! would you say you can get them cheaply over to the U.K as i know USA to UK shipping can be super not cheap.
grate job mate👍like always
and do you actually eat it for breakfast , lunch and dinner or all together
MADJAX 2940 I typically film in segments throughout the day and eat the food as my meals for the day...I share the sweet stuff with my kids
Well they are rare but not that rare we reviewed one last summer and Synthpeter did i too in the meantime. I think Drew got this ration from us, so this was Mali batch made for Swedish UN in Africa we got from our friends working for UN in Bamako.
Crombat Rations relatively speaking here...I've been trying to find one of these for months. It's probably a function of my relatively few contacts.
Crombat Rations I can't believe I missed your review of this. I thought I had seen all of your videos.
This was one of the first international rations we reviewed, this 4 course and UN Halal. Strange but this bag designs keep stuff inside safer then the boxed rations...

RCGusto, at the dinner I heard thunder, was it stormy outside?
He shows the storm in the video.
The Swedish chef, this is how the American dialect sounds to the rest of the world..
Clearly the Swedes love their military! Outstanding chow!
Out of curiosity, why didn't you mix the beverage powders in the bigger measuring cup? Great vid as always!
Rob Houston I've become so used to that cup that I couldn't switch. Honestly 500ml would have been to dilute in my opinion
I am going to join the Swedish army .
is there anywhere i can buy this or is it just waiting for one to show up?
emoanarchist96 I looked for this one for a few months. You can search for that brand--just usually can't ship to the US. You can check out the forums on mreinfo also
Do you eat all of the food like what do you do with it when the camera cuts away
firehair4d I try not to waste food--these are usually my meals for the day...filmed throughout the day. I usually eat the rest off camera and share the sweets with my kids
Nut-cream, sounds interesting.
Arie Heath agreed. I was expecting more comments on that one...
its a hazelnut type of candy spread, We can buy it in most of our stores and we just eat it as it is, not on bread or anything
Yes, we have something similar called Nutella in the States. There have been a couple times where I just took a spoon and ate the stuff out of the jar.
we also have Nutella but its nothing like it :)
Duckman that makes sense. It was really sweet, lots of sugar. Good flavor. I was expecting nutella, but it was definitely different
The jumpcut and caption from Gusto Junior was funnier than it should have been.
AgentTasmania the peanut butter "toot" cracked her up. She loves to watch me film this stuff.
I would eat everything but the hazelnut spread. It would take me a few days.
The nut spread is usually just eaten as candy.
Du är bäst 🙏

Btw purple flavour in sweden is not grape it is viola (the flower) flavored.

18:25 - the cutest toot in TH-cam history.
keep up the reviews gusto!
will do!
RC Gusto how did you feel like when you wrote his name? :D
When you leave a response comment TH-cam automatically has it typed there for you.
LelleHD wow...I didn't even notice the name. I just typed a reply. Will edit. I don't want those kinds of words on my channel. I apologize
LelleHD edited
lets get this out onto a tray.
Nice!
I think we can now all saftely assume the political ideology of Gusto's viewerbase based upon their comments.
Commissar Dog Tell me about it, the state of some of these comments really depresses me. Anyway, nice review.
Can you?
why so little coffee?
Forgot to remove the dessidicant
I wish people would cut the bread into slices instead of just ripping it in half D:
Seems to be about the right size for me and the wife to split camping.
Do you finish all this food? Or just review it and toss it.
Bryce Piper I think he said in one video he eats it later.
Bryce Piper I try not to waste food. I usually shoot these 24hr packs throughout the day and this is my food for the day. However, this is double what I usually eat on a heavy day, so I shared some with my kids (they love the sweet stuff) and saved some for later.
RC Gusto Do You Have That Copy Pasted?
The swedes sure like their unique food flavors in mre's.
"H-weet Bread"
Old English word for wheat is actually hwæt so maybe he's just a time traveler.
I think this ration was mispacked, I think you received one too many isotonic drinks, but they stiffed you on the hot chocolate.
smooth peanut butter - Yuck. Give me crunchy / on the topic of peanuts, the US rations dont have salt in them Whatttt ???

is it Halal?
Bork, Bork, Bork!!!!
Well at least you didn't break out into an Abba song! Hehehe...
What? Nobody ran with the 'nut cream' comments?
Idk why but I laugh when you say beverage
I cringe.
K Davis I feel
Those quotes :D
I love dinner #sweetandsourpasta
Why did they label it all in English ?
Shane K I believe because everyone is in NATO and they have it that way in case soldiers from other nations are eating them. Same in France and Spanish ones etc. I believe I heard that from gundog in a review is his.
In US most things are in English Spanish French since so much trading w Mexico Us and Canada who have French speakers.
i came for the hweat!
There it is in cross section - Gusto
Peanut butter was thick because you didn't kneed it. And you don't pronounce the h in wheat.
Nice hiss -steve
BlownToBitz had to...that guy is awesome
RC Gusto yeah Steve is amazing
Idk why but it pissed me off when he said it calls for 500 ml of water and his cup only holds 400 except i saw heaps more space in tbe cup 😭 and you hardly ate any breakfast at least steve eats the entire tray
I HAVE GAY OSTEO DEPPRESION SYNDROME I eat everything, just not always on camera for time conservation.
That cookies and cream bar is terrifyingly black! Most cookies and cream items where I'm from are a cream color with black cookie chunks
Cheryl Muffin it was really dark brown, like an Oreo cookie
24Hour Meal = Owned by Fazer Company.
Hahaha it's pretty sad when I have the same sense of humor as a 3 year old. XD
4600 calories holy shit! I eat much less than the half of that in a day!
Pally Pal try walking in snow with combat weight backpacks all day. U burn it all I promise.
You don't need to try the orange again.
Joe McballZ it liked it, it was there, so I drank it.
RC Gusto I kinda like your reviews a little more because you sort of get right to the point. so it's like.....you already tried that. lol
do Turkish MRE please :-)
Young Bodybuilder They're super rare. There's a review online of one single component of a Turkish MRE, but they're next to impossible to get since Turkey doesn't let them be sold and they take it very seriously.
Conrad Russo yeah i've never seen 24H Turkish MRE
I'm from Oklahoma.
kennybigmac81 where in OK?
I live in lawton.
I am Swedish.
lol nice hiss
