    I'd studied the wavebird board awhile back; but not in this kind of detail. It's nice to know what all the circuitry at the bottom does and how it functions without it.
    This is an extremely good mod, and an excellent use of the wavebird.

    The one thing I didn't liked from the wavebird was that one never knew how much battery was left until it was too late (lost many smash games from this). So you could add a gameboy advance light to the front indicating how much battery the controller has, it would make it even more awesome n.n

Now we have a way to power our controller mods no mater what they may be like sticking an 8bitdo GBros Adapter into all the empty space of a pdp wired fightpad or just stick the batteries directly into a power a gamecube controller for switch.

    This is great and I was hoping you might have some advice for me. I have a wavebird that turns on but does not send out a signal. I know my receiver is working as I used it with my other wavebirds. Channel 3 does not work either btw. Should I take apart the antenna and see if any of those components are bad? Thats probalby going to be my next step.

    • @Madmorda
      @Madmorda  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First, try changing the channel on the receiver. If it connects to wavebird A, it will sometimes not connect to wavebird B on the same channel until you change it and then change it back

    • @RatchetsLPs
      @RatchetsLPs 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tried this again and no juice. I'm currently going backwards off of each of the 7 pins making sure components are functioning and continuity is achieved. I'm unsure if the crystal resonator would be working correctly but I did get 98.8kohms and 1.68 volts when testing without power running through. @@Madmorda

    • @RatchetsLPs
      @RatchetsLPs 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have the correct resistance on each resistor from your document of necessary components. I've also verified voltage to EEPROM and to the antenna. Capacitors for crystal resonator are functioning correctly I do believe. I'm thinking take antenna off though it won't be easy and checking those components. If you have any extra info on the antenna board that might help me please let me know. Thank you so much!

    • @Madmorda
      @Madmorda  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, but why would I? If the cable is 3 feet long and the controller is an inch tall, the likelihood of the cable getting yanked out of the controller gets pretty high. Also then it wouldn't fit in your pocket well. That's why I used extension cables with mine.

    You might not see this comment, but I need to repair one specific component on my wavebird controller... It's got a LOT of cosmetic damages but the component that needs replacing is the entirety of the z button. the switch and plastic button itself. I would like to get the schematic. To see if there's a way to add the rumble feature. My first guess is that it might be possible if they use the same processor with the same firmware (or a firmware that still has rumble implemented). It might be a matter of pulling out a wire from the pin of the processor that runs the rumble motor and maybe getting a small motor like the ones antena cellphones used to use back in the early 2000's
