    What YOU get:
Strong. Left and right side brackets are made of a single piece to stand drops and tough conditions!
The SUR-RON / SEGWAY Pedal Kit V4.0 plus the SUR-RON / SEGWAY Power Kit Add-on for Pedal Kits V4.0 & V3.0, plus the SUR-RON / SEGWAY Electronic Pedal Assist Kit Add-on upgrade.
This pedal kit WILL propel your ebike both mechanically and electronically. You get a carefully designed split sprocket to install on the jackshaft WITHOUT UNINSTALLING IT, a high quality freewheel with hub, a 34 link bicycle chain with master link so you can easily install on uninstall, a 3 position sensor, a controller, and a cadence sensor!
Cadence sensor to detect pedal speed.
Three Position Handlebar Switch: Throttle only, pedals only or both (greater speed between pedals and throttle), the system will compare and transmit to the controller the higher speed.
Compatible with chain or belt drives
    NEW! Allows chain tension adjustment
A pedal kit that lets your rear suspension WORK. The original pedal kit is located directly on the rear swingarm, therefore it does not spring your weight... you will feel the difference immediately going over obstacles, plus the turning is greatly improved!
Compatible with chain or belt drives
    Chain guard must be removed
Plug and Play pedal kit fixed to the frame! You just disassemble the existing side brackets and install the pedal kit.
Easy setup. Adjust the kit to your bike using the stainless steel collars. You may easily change between pedals or footpegs (and you have two footpeg positions!), crank puller needed. Just install the footpegs or the cranks without removing the pedal kit, you can also remove the spindle. You choose!
Maintenance free. New design is maintenance free since it has sealed cartridge bearings.
Brace bar. Also works as a brace bar
Reduced wobble. Little to no wobble of the chain and improved in this V3.0, since it is not connected to the main drive chain, a common problem with the OEM kit.
Cranksets compatible. This kit is compatible with JIS square tapered cranksets, no major crank offset is required. If the crank has no offset, the maximum compatible length is 160mm. OEM Crankset is compatible.
Aluminium made in order to reduce weight. With a weight of around 4.3 Lb (2.0 kg). The spindle is made of stainless steel.
Durable Materials. Parts made of aluminum and stainless steel. It will last a long time.
OEM Look. Discrete installation, all cables hidden!
Propels the bike using the bike's battery.
    * With original sprocket, original controller, and flat road.
Cranks not included in this version unless added.
Pedals not included in this version unless added.

Installed on friend's Sur Ron last night. The new kit is excellent, well-thought-out and well-made. The video is excellent, albeit slight difference with the new kit. But common sense saves the day. On a scale of 1-10 difficulty, while this takes a few hours, it is truly only a 6.
    Few notes:
    * If you can view the video and just "do the math" to convert .. flip the bike upside down! I think it's way easier. (The Sur-Rons are electric, no issue flipping them over -- no gas/oil leaks!)
    * When putting the first "jack shaft" sprocket on for the new version, DO NOT TORQUE IT DOWN as shown in the video! Positioning the pedal sprocket into the detents must take precedence for positioning of the jack shaft sprocket.
    * You do not need "power tools." This was kind of funny.
    * We were given two chains, we used the shorter one and it fit perfectly. Install it to line the sprockets up, tighten a bit, then remove the chain so you can more easily tighten the allen screws and set screws since the chain will be out of your way. I assume the second chain is a back up, with an extra link in case the shorter one is too tight.
Make sure when you finish installing late at night that your headlight and taillight are working -- you are going to want to buzz legally down the street!
One quick mod request if it were possible with the controller -- would it be possible to put a cruise control on? Say 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 MPH? If Kaniwaba wants me to test on my bike, I'd be happy to since I want to install this on mine! By the way, we ride our Surrons mostly single track in the woods ... putting the pedal kit on opens a whole new dimension and tremendous value add to our awesome bikes!

Great video! Couple things to add that might help out those who are less handy
    1. The plastic chain gaurd you have to twist out is bendy and won't go back on the bike so you can bend it to get it out.
    2. Get a screwdriver with the 3,4,and 6mm hex tips, the gaurd is hard to reach with a Allen wrench
    3. Take off the front fender ittl make getting the controller gaurd and wire routing clips off
    4. If you can, get a higher stand unless you are comfortable working on your back
    5. The silver brackets that hold the bash plate were the most annoying the thread the bolts back through.. take a deep breath and make sure the wire harness and new wires are tucked up behind the controller gaurd and are as high up as possible.
Awesome video but definitely a challenge for beginners

Does the plastic guard stay off or do we need to cut it to modify it to re-fit it back on? The guard over the belt and front sprocket

    • @iamalavalamp

i think you can reattach it and dremel out part that would rub on the chain. I have not done this yet though but there is another example on youtube

th-cam.com/video/O1IM9o0tavk/w-d-xo.html What is the relationship between the collar and the sensor? It switches sides during this video. Is it between the sensor and the side plate, or to the left of the sensor and side plate?

    • @kaniwaba
      @kaniwaba  ปีที่แล้ว

The collar is between the sensor and the side bracket! The collar must flush against the side bracket so the spindle maintains its position.

    • @SurronNYC
      @SurronNYC ปีที่แล้ว

@@kaniwaba just want to make sure, since in your website the sensor is also shown against the side plate, with the collar going over the top of it. Is that not correct? What prevents the sensor from sliding side to side?
