How to install the KANIWABA Pedal Kit V3.0!
Carefully designed Pedal Kit for the SurRon.
What YOU get:
The Pedal Kit V4.0 plus the Power Kit Add-on for Pedal Kits V4.0 & V3.0.
- Strong. Left and right side brackets are made of a single piece to stand drops and tough conditions!
- This pedal kit WILL propel your ebike. You get a carefully designed split sprocket to install on the jackshaft WITHOUT UNINSTALLING IT, a high quality freewheel with hub, and a 34 link bicycle chain with master link so you can easily install on uninstall!
- Add the Electronic Pedal Kit for faster speed when pedaling.
- A pedal kit that lets your rear suspension WORK. The original pedal kit is located directly on the rear swingarm, therefore it does not spring your weight... you will feel the difference immediately going over obstacles, plus the turning is greatly improved!
- Compatible with chain or belt drives
- Chain guard must be removed
- Plug and Play pedal kit fixed to the frame! You just disassemble the existing side brackets and install the pedal kit.
- Easy setup. Adjust the kit to your bike using the stainless steel collars. You may easily change between pedals or footpegs (and you have two footpeg positions!), crank puller needed. Just install the footpegs or the cranks without removing the pedal kit, you can also remove the spindle. You choose!
- Maintenance free. New design is maintenance free since it has sealed cartridge bearings.
- Brace bar. Also works as a brace bar
- Reduced wobble. Little to no wobble of the chain and improved in this V3.0, since it is not connected to the main drive chain, a common problem with the OEM kit.
- Cranksets compatible. This kit is compatible with JIS square tapered cranksets, no major crank offset is required. If the crank has no offset, the maximum compatible length is 160mm. OEM Crankset is compatible.
- Aluminium made in order to reduce weight. With a weight of around 4.3 Lb (2.0 kg). The spindle is made of stainless steel.

Should of had flat spots for the set screws on the inner collars. And used loc tite on the set screw. And for the split bushing install, not sure if the jack shaft is a tube/hollow or a solid piece. But tighten and align the split bushing with the outter screws and use a small drill to make a spot/hole for the set screw to sit in to make sure it doesn't move from its location. And loc tite everything. I'd hate for that to come loose while riding.
How do you reinstall the pegs without altering the whole setup? “YOU MAY EASILY CHANGE BETWEEN PEDALS OR PEGS WITHOUT UNISTALLING THE KIT”

Do you even need the mechanic part , cant you just use it as a electronic throtle only or does it really let you do some work like a normal e bike ? Otherwise i dont see the perpuse

So do you need locktight cuz I read everything and said nothing about it but then in this video for the instructions you're using it just wondering if I need to buy that don't want to get my order then have to order or get that stuff
Yes, blue loctite is highly recommended

I have yet to see anyone pedal the Sur ron with Kaniwaba V3 cadence pedal assist up a hill. Only then, would I think about purchasing.
It makes the bike legal, yes it will move it but that's not really the point.
So will this pedal kit fit the Sur Ron X Bike (Black Edition) ? Trying to keep it legal here in Arizona.

Yes! Cranks should be JIS squared tapered.
Can the plastic chain guard that was removed be put back on with the new power pedal kit? I just ordered the kit and was wondering what will protect it

Hi! Some customers do a small cut out for the chain guard to fit without touching the chain guard.
I installed my kit today and it makes SO MUCH noise. I tried adjusting the chain alignment, it helped but still so loud.
One weird thing is if my left foot is forward it makes a lot of noise. When I have my right foot forward the sound is noticeably quieter, I don’t get it.
Any tips on for me?

Will this set up give you pedal assist power? Or is this to fake the authorities out? Reason i ask is because i will be buying my buddies USED SEGWAY 260 which was used VERY LITTLE and he has this but the version 1, thanks in advance.
This kit will propel your bike mechanically, using gear and chain. If you want to have electric assist, you need to add the Electronic Pedal Assist Kit Add-on!

Will the pedal assist kit work while bike is off?
The electronic pedal assist needs the bike's power! So the bike needs to be turned on.
Does the pda work with the new Ron's build date passed Dec 2020 yet?
