    How To Make Celery Juice With a Nutribullet
    In this video I talk you through how I make celery juice in 5 minutes using a Nutribullet blender. Please note that closed captions are available in this video.
    WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Nutribullet 900, Full head of celery, cutting knife, chopping board, metal strainer, wooden spoon and a large jug
    STEP#1 - Chop up whole head of celery and add 1/3 to Nutribullet
    STEP#2 - Blend the celery for around 5 seconds (without adding water)
    STEP#3 - Gradually blend the remainder of the celery
    STEP#4 - Blend for around 10 seconds until mushy pea consistency
    STEP#5 - Place jug and strainer into sink (or drainage basin)
    STEP#6 - Strain 1/3 celery with wooden spoon until just the pulp is left
    STEP#7 - Discard pulp or keep for later consumption (it's up to you)
    STEP#8 - Strain the remainder of the celery pulp
    STEP#9 - Enjoy a quarter to half pint of fresh celery juice
    Celery Juice has some amazing benefits if consumed by itself, on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning. Bile salts contained within the stalks are able to naturally improve stomach acid levels. Celery itself also has a high water content and is extremely hydrating and a great drink to kick off your day.

    To start with, use a bigger drain bowl that will accommodate your strainer. Then if you would line your strainer with cheesecloth and then pour the fibrous blend in, you can pull up all the sides of the cloth (or use a nut milk bag), twisting in a downward motion, squeeze the juice from the pulp. Compost the pulp or throw it out. But you will get a more juice by squeezing the pulp.

    I started making celery juice. I use to juice years ago, first with a blender, strained with a paint strainer bag. Then I bought a juicer. That’s gone and now I decided to make celery juice for health benefits. I had my first experience with gout, and celery juice suppose to be good for the uric acid. I purchased a juicer again, but it got to be a hassle. I now use the Bullet and still have the paint strainers. I get way more juice than what you get, by squeezing it. They use nut bags too.

    I also do my celery juice on a nutribullet. A strainer is good but if you put it on a clean kitchen rag it works better. I don't have an actual nut bag (the one you use to make nut milks) I used a brand new kitchen towel to squeeze the juice out. You can squeeze all the extra juice.There is still a lot of juice on those fibers

    There is so much more juice left in that pulp. A siv won't drain all the juice. Use a clean tea towel and squeeze the pulp tightly through it and you will get twice as much juice.

  • @hallamneil

    I, like everybody else am rushed in the morning and find it a bit of a pain making fresh juice and then ideally drinking it down within 15 minutes while it is still "live." However, I found a shortcut, and I don't know how bad this is, or maybe it's not, but I have been doing all my juicing on a Sunday night and then freezing it in 1 pint (16 oz) plastic containers. I save one in the fridge for Monday morning and then I take one out of the freezer every night thereafter before I go to bed. It is a perfect solution for me and is ready to drink in the morning (still cold.) I haven't read about anyone else doing this. What say you Chris? I can take it - fire away.

    • @ChrisGascoigne1
      @ChrisGascoigne1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I completely understand about being in a rush and it being awkward Lois, in fact I was doing what you are before - refrigerating though, not freezing. I can only really say I started noticing the big improvements when I started juicing fresh first thing in the morning. Freezing it for a while and then drinking it might offer you the benefits (which I really hope it does) but it might not be as effective. I'm definitely no expert on this subject

    • @rene8689
      @rene8689 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you will not get the same benefits for sure. green juices should be taken as soon as you do them The longer a juice sits around for, the more the juice nutrients will be oxidised and damaged

      Hi A Z thanks a lot I really appreciate that! From what I've learnt drinking it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach (when your stomach acid levels are naturally at their lowest) is the best time. If you don't start eating till the afternoon then maybe break the fast an hour or so before your first meal with the celery juice and just drink water or a hot drink in the morning :)

      For those of you who have come here today... The answer to the question is that you need to vacuum seal the storage container and that will give you two to three days leeway. We use a vacuum sealer for mason jars. Obviously, the fresher the better but the vacuum sealer really does a good job.

    Couple of questions:
    - why not add water?
    - why do you have to blend them in thirds (instead of the whole thing at once)
    - why not drink the whole thing (why do u strain)
    - is there a difference with eating and drinking celery?
    Thanks in advance

    • @HowRebelsHealMS
      @HowRebelsHealMS ปีที่แล้ว

      @ferroherre9906 This is to how to make celery juice, not celery pulp. Juice is more potent hence not adding water. Against my better knowledge, I just used my Nutribullet to blend almost a full container of celery and it simply won't do it, gets stuck! That's why I searched YT for ideas and this is a great idea. Thanks, Chris :)

The two biggest ones for me have been 1. I feel so much more hydrated in the morning after drinking it and my skin feels more hydrated and 2. It feels like the food no longer just 'sits' in my stomach following a meal, pointing towards celery juice having drastically positive effects on improving my stomach acid levels

    A whole celery makes 16 oz of juice, you threw out so much pulp that still had lots of juice. I suggest using a nut bag next time. Celery is really healing. Ive healed my chronic migraines that were sometimes debilitating and im healing my thyroid now. Love celery 💎

    I was hoping that celery juice was going to help with my inflammation. It's hard to measure my internal inflammation, but my knee it still hot to the touch on the outside. Could it be because I freeze my juice or do I have to take it longer? It's been 28 days for me.

    • @ChrisGascoigne1

      I haven't heard of celery juice directly having a link to inflammation, only improving stomach acid levels Lois. If your stomach acid levels are already optimal then you might not get the same benefits that I have and may need to look elsewhere

      @swassmer440 Yes, it's finally starting to "kick in for me too." I am now taking it at night just before bed. I have to go to the bathroom a couple of times, but it's worth it. We are supposed to be in repair mode during the night so I thought why not let the CJ do it's job then? It has significantly brought down the swelling and inflammation in my leg and knee and my bicep tendinitis. I am thrilled, and am going to keep this up.

      It depends on what you want your juice to do. If you drink it all, many of the enzymes will be used up breaking down the insoluble cellulose fiber, whereas if you strain out much of the cellulose, those enzymes can be used to break down fat and other stuff :)

  • @1MinuteFlipDoc

    I wonder what is in the celery that is helping you? i've done wheat grass and chlorophyll smoothies for years, but no real benefit. generally i dont tolerate fiber very well. interesting that you strain out the fiber as well.

    • @ChrisGascoigne1
      @ChrisGascoigne1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1MinuteFlipDoc I'm not entirely 100% sure either, but one thing's for sure and that's that it has made a huge difference to my life within the first few weeks of drinking it. Maybe it is something to do with the mineral salt composition in the stalks of the celery, but it really is helping to improve stomach acid levels and I can tell that because after a meal it no longer feels like the food's just sitting there stopping me from talking and moving around

    • @ChrisGascoigne1
      @ChrisGascoigne1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Anna I would separate the juice and pulp, consume the juice first thing and then wait at least half an hour before consuming the pulp. The mineral salts contained within the celery stalks are said to be far more effective when consumed without anything else, even the fibre of the celery, hope this helps
