It has anti-diabetic properties and has shown to be helpful for people with amnesia. 3. Coumaric acid Coumaric acid is anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, and anti-clotting. It supports healthy blood sugar levels and can also help with inflammation associated with arthritis. 4. Kaempferol Kaempferol is a potent antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory agent. Celery juice is best consumed in the morning on an empty stomach. Thank you for experimenting on yourself for us, I enjoying hearing about your experiences. I went through a juicing phase in my 20s. Adding a stick of celery to anything just wrecked the taste. It is not palatable, but stimulating in its way. Apparently celery juice also helps with heat tolerance if you’re in a hot climate. I forget the name of the author that mentioned this in his juicing book, but he lived in Arizona and celery juice helped him get through the intense summers.

@@johneastwood4852 Nope. Raw celery, and raw plants in general, contains more plant toxins than cooked ones. Meat is good for you. Celery contains certain toxins called psoralens with potentially carcinogenic effects and goitrogens with anti-thyroid effects.
my grandmother always made a shake growing up that might have saved our lives as the rest of the time she fed us premade cakes and junk food. but her shakes were something we loved and always made us feel better alot like my other grandmothers vegetable beef soup w cabbage and bowls of cooked collard greens w butter &onions - cooled in a cast iron pot after boiling it was and is like health candy. But in those shakez went banana, apple w seeds, celery, carrots, pineapple juice, and anything else she thought was healthy and available plus ice- it was amazing and I think its best to mix everything rather than just one food item.
Different comment for a different thought; so im a big believer in the adage "too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing" and when i see anyone doing anything like drinking an abnormal amount of one healthy thing for multiple days in a row, it rings that warning bell in my brain of being unnaturally too much to be as good as it could be if consumed a little less. It would be very interesting and helpful to find the set of compounds like the ones found in celery, but all the different compounds from each and every type of fruit and vegetable, then organize them in a weekly consumption chart and do one glass a day of a set of them, but a different set every day. So Monday's set might be Celery juice, and beet juice and carrot juice, while Tuesday's juice might be 3 other things, and Wednesdays 3 more different things, so you get each thing once a week, but during the week you get EVERYTHING. We as humans, primates, omnivores, were not meant to consume the same thing over and over again daily. Its not how we are built! And its almost impossible for people to stay on a health regimine based on consuming the same thing over and over daily. We were built to consume a huge variety for best health but nobody ever gives advice on what that looks like other than very vauge and lacking in any details. I would LOVE to see someone actually create that chart, and then try a month of doing those different sets of daily juices, then report on how it worked for them
I’ve been drinking celery juice for over 10 days and I’m feeling great. I started adding spirulina to it also. I started doing 16oz but it kept me going to the bathroom the whole morning. I took it down to 8oz and much better now.
I'm just gonna speak from my own experience. Celery juice on an empty stomach first thing in the morning makes me poop effortlessly. Let me tell you, it's the most refreshing feeling ever. Something about the whole process gives me a boost of energy. Love it!
I love celery and Cucumbers. Lately well, for about a year I can't get enough celery and salsa!! Celery and hummus!! Cucumbers and Taziki sauce. I'm obsessed

I love celery juice. It's funny when you go to a juice bar and ask for plain celery juice, they tend to look at you like you're crazy. I usually find where I am that they'll offer other plain juices, but don't think about celery like that. They'll do it, but it seems to weird them out. One place that I used to go to many, many years ago started refusing to do it a few weeks after I started going there because others who were around me when I would place my daily order followed behind me and also started ordering plain celery juice. They kept running out of celery for their mixed juices. 😂
Starting juicing and randomly added celery one day. I found that I really liked the spicy flavor so I started using it as a main component. Yes at first I was blowing up the bathroom but after a few days it subsided and I feel amazing. It was probably cleaning out my system. I'm going to stick with it because it's super easy to juice and boosts my energy levels.
Doctor, could you please talk about an explain what spastic bowel is? What it does what it causes why people are diagnosed with it and what can we do about it?? Thank you sir love your videos.❤
When I was a kid I never like celery. But I have been drinking celery papaya walnut and almond milk with lemon peels daily for two years . Lots fiber. Also you can put celery in boil water for two minutes after you cut them in small pieces. And use ice water to soak them after you rise them. You can eat them with some olives oil or avocado oils. It’s quite tasty too all day. Very filling too . Try it. Hope you enjoy it. I like them.
USDA has realized and removed unnecessary regulations on farmers that produce conventional celery so I think also depends where you buy it that their profitability exceeds their production cost. In both cases, celery is safe from GMOs but the health risk comes from the overuse of pesticides to protect the celery stocks from being attacked by organisms.
Clean and soak in water and lemon juice for 10 min....put celery in ice and water in the fridge overnight....pesticides and bacteria gone...rinse and eat
I have tried celery juicing and it is incredible! It has also helped turn my husband from diabetic to numbers that are way better than the average person! Along with the Keto diet though, I will add.
Eating celery is very hard on stomach for ppl with IBS or leaky gut etc, if u don't have any digestive issues then go ahead, else juicing is best as it's smooth on stomach
Celery juice contains chemicals called psoralens, which make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Drinking large quantities of celery juice could raise your chances of skin cancer and other skin problems. Celery allergies are also relatively common. Can you comment about this one, please? And I would like to know about K3 salt. Is there some benefit, or is it harmful for humans. Many conflicting information about it.
Sooooo, this video is assuming you are consuming traditionally eaten green cellery, HOWEVER in France and China, there are two types of celery that are a beautiful bubblegum pink! They taste a bit different too, having a more pleasant sweeter taste and less strong bitter celery taste. You can get seeds for them at rare seeds dealers as a rare exotic. So now im wondering, since the color of a plant changes the phytonutrients completely, what compounds are in the pink celery versus the green one? :-)
Dr. Berg, I have an important question - Several celery juice videos I've watched and observations I've read, seem to indicate we should NOT keep the pulp when drinking the celery juice because the fiber messes with the absorption of the nutrition. I didn't see you mention that so I was curious what you knew about it. Great video as always, thank you for what you do.
@kathleen9456 2 weeks isn't long enough. I did it for 4 months prior to major surgery, and I felt incredible. Even the nurses and doctors (I had 3 surgeons) were shocked at my energy. I'm 65 yrs old and felt great. I juice celery 3 times a week for maintenance ✌️❤️
Question: Do you juice with the fiber intact or do you separate the juice from the fiber? I have a juicerator that holds the fibers an expels the juice...and I also have a Vitamix that will keep the fiber in the same container as the juice. Thank you.
Yes you need a proper cold pressed juicer that very slowly extracts the juice without heating it up. The engine has to extract very slowly and without heat. That way the juice isn’t spoiled and nutrients are fully extracted.
Celery has potassium & magnesium & it relaxes the smooth muscle of the blood vessels thereby dilating them & lowering blood pressure. I know someone who consumes 3 stalks of celery with each meal 2 manage their blood pressure. It’s worth a try.

Each person is different and may metabolize in a different way than others. Personally, I got terrible constipations after drinking celery juice. It took some time before I returned to normal.
I did celery juice, kefir and prebiotic rich foods to heal my gut after it was damaged as a result of gluten. The first few days takes some getting used to. Then the juice starts tasting like a weak milk and more tolerable. Side effect of celery juice: you dont feet hungry as often.
@@karolinaremelska2404 yes!!!!! My gut became less permeable and as a result, the chronic hives resolved - stuff was no longer leaking from my gut into my bloodstream, which was causing a histamine reaction (hives).
I don't juice it, I chop it up and put it in the blender with a little ice and water and squeeze a lemon over it. This way you get the whole thing as nature intended with pulp.
If you decide to try such an "adventure", stay home. Avoid exposure to strong sunlight to avoid developing phytophotodermatitis due to the high furanocoumarins you will be ingesting. Not to mention the oxalates as well.
Even better is to juice the leaves and stalks. It might be a little bitter, but it is superior than just stalks. You can make a combo of beet, carrot, celery leaves and green apple. Good for sibo and gallbladder problems.

Probably because of the natural salts and water in celery. Being hydrated (proper electrolyte balance) aids in heat tolerance.
try adding Pineapple see if that helps
@@CAMInMedicine I eat carnivore now, so sadly pineapple isn’t an option. It was such a great juice and adds a beautiful flavor to so many combinations. I found celery could get through pineapple, too, though.
@@mctrustsnoone3781 yes even the smell of it is so strong.
Just bought a bottle of Suja celery juice, so gonna do it. We'll maybe try making my own some day. I've drank it regularly in the past, especially when having issues with UC pain and bloat, and it does wonders. PS. phytonutrients - Susanne Summers was ahead of her time.
I drink celery juice often... I been told to take to help my normally low potassium and it has helped to increase my potassium levels ❤😊
Its good for eczema and other skin diseases, I'm talking it now about 4 days and my skin is better now
update..I'm drinking it once a day about a cup of this juice for last 3 weeks...my eczema is 80% better! I feel so good!
Need to try on my psoriasis
I saw another video of yours about celery years ago and started drinking it. My dandruff went away! I'm not sure why.
I don't enjoy the taste but I'm going to drink this for 7 days.
Cheers Sir
Try crushing some garlic & add it 2 the juice it really tastes good.

I love celery! Chopped up, stir fry or raw!!
Raw is good for you
@@johneastwood4852 Nope.

I would LOVE to see someone actually create that chart, and then try a month of doing those different sets of daily juices, then report on how it worked for them
Thanks for referencing MM.
Most welcome.
Celery juice is my new vice 😍. It keeps my anxiety away
Wow that’s really interesting, I’ve been searching for something to keep anxiety away lol
I’ve been drinking celery juice for over 10 days and I’m feeling great. I started adding spirulina to it also. I started doing 16oz but it kept me going to the bathroom the whole morning. I took it down to 8oz and much better now.
Dr Berg, you are AMAZING...thank you so much for your videos. Question: Would it be good to have a celery/cabbage drink?
You are very welcome. It's best to have both drinks separately. However you can add lemon juice for taste to your celery drink.
I'm just gonna speak from my own experience. Celery juice on an empty stomach first thing in the morning makes me poop effortlessly. Let me tell you, it's the most refreshing feeling ever. Something about the whole process gives me a boost of energy. Love it!
Are the same benefits found in just eating celery?
My question too
When you juice celery is easier for your body to absorb the nutrients because it is in a concentrated form. Juicing also removes the fiber.
I love celery and Cucumbers. Lately well, for about a year I can't get enough celery and salsa!! Celery and hummus!! Cucumbers and Taziki sauce. I'm obsessed
Maybe it would be nice to do a collab with Anthony William, you could argue that he is an expert on the field of celery juice! Dr. Berg & Anthony William would be the best 'alternative' health advice givers in my opinion!
Anthony William has the definitive book on celery.
It’s great for eliminating recurring stomach issues. 8-12 ounces a few times a week should make a noticeable difference.
USDA has realized and removed unnecessary regulations on farmers that produce
conventional celery so
I think also depends where you buy it
that their profitability exceeds their production cost.
Most pesticides are aBsorbed by plants. y@@MaxMoon65

I have tried celery juicing and it is incredible! It has also helped turn my husband from diabetic to numbers that are way better than the average person! Along with the Keto diet though, I will add.
Does eating celery have the same benefits as juicing it? I would imagine it would be better because you're keeping the fiber intact.
I’m wondering by the same
I know someone who eats 3 stalks w/lunch & dinner 2 manage their blood pressure. Juicing just extracts the fiber.
Eating celery is very hard on stomach for ppl with IBS or leaky gut etc, if u don't have any digestive issues then go ahead, else juicing is best as it's smooth on stomach

I do drink it almost daily but i dont really juice it. I rather blend a few sticks with spring water and drink it as a smoothie 😊
What about the following juice:
A Mixture of Celery, Beetroot, Spinach, Cucumbers, Lemons, Green Apples and Cabbage.
According to the books, mixing it with other fruits or veggies nullifies the beneficial effect.
Forgot to mention ginger.
Celery juice is best by itself. Read the Medical Medium's book on celery. It's amazing
@kamarygold I'm assuming we add some water with the celery, right? Does it depend how watery I want it?
@kathymartinez8488 Drink it straight. Medical Medium says drink it straight, do not add anything else to it, and that's what I do.
Thank you , Dr. Berg !

What about adding a bit of fresh ginger?
Ginger is often used as a natural remedy to boost immunity, support weight loss, and combat morning sickness during pregnancy. Very good for you!

Thank you very much. Appreciate your message.
I'm already doing cabbage juice. Maybe I need to add some celery into the cocktail 🤔
I love to learn something new and interesting every day. Congratulations! you've just done that for today!
Yes he means normal green celery. I’m sure the link would still have benefits but I’ve never seen pink celery. End of story,
Strain it, always
How much celery does it take to make that much juice? Can you just eat that amount instead of juicing it if you don’t have a juicer?
The whole bunch will only make 1 cup of juice. Eating the whole bunch isn’t doable in my opinion haha
@@ZK-kn5ovdon’t bother. Did nothing after two weeks of doing this first thing in the morning
@kathleen9456 2 weeks isn't long enough. I did it for 4 months prior to major surgery, and I felt incredible. Even the nurses and doctors (I had 3 surgeons) were shocked at my energy. I'm 65 yrs old and felt great. I juice celery 3 times a week for maintenance ✌️❤️

buy a celery, cut 5 cm off the bottom and put it in soil on the balcony, it grows like crazy. For a better taste of the juice I add an apple
Question: Do you juice with the fiber intact or do you separate the juice from the fiber? I have a juicerator that holds the fibers an expels the juice...and I also have a Vitamix that will keep the fiber in the same container as the juice. Thank you.
Remove the fiber.

@@Avengedsevenfoldrocks There is only one cure I know of. I hope this answers the question. 🤠☝
@@erics2506 the cure. They're also a good band.

@@erics2506 unless you mean a cold shower which Dr Berg may advocate
Yes you need a proper cold pressed juicer that very slowly extracts the juice without heating it up. The engine has to extract very slowly and without heat. That way the juice isn’t spoiled and nutrients are fully extracted.
My old cat is having issues. I gave him a little celery juice yesterday and today. It looks like he's doing better.
@DrBerg how does celery juice lower BP with the 200+ mg of sodium per glass? I have essential hypertension and don’t want to risk elevating my BP
Celery has potassium & magnesium & it relaxes the smooth muscle of the blood vessels thereby dilating them & lowering blood pressure. I know someone who consumes 3 stalks of celery with each meal 2 manage their blood pressure. It’s worth a try.

I did celery juice, kefir and prebiotic rich foods to heal my gut after it was damaged as a result of gluten.

Dr. Berg did not say whether to “remove the pulp” with a juicer machine to “consume (eat) the pulp” by using a Vitamix blender and a little water??
THROW THE PULP AWAY.
I don't juice it, I chop it up and put it in the blender with a little ice and water and squeeze a lemon over it. This way you get the whole thing as nature intended with pulp.
