niv tom Nah man! The crowd were in shock! Anthony’s style is nothing before him. His jokes are so intellectually funny and dark. Compare the first awkward laugh he received and the last laughs. He had them eating out of his hands. And we accepted that dark jokes are funny
I mean... "master" is a bit heavy... After the third or fourth joke you realize that either the person in his joke, or that person's baby, will die by the punchline. But, yes, you are right: He is funny.
Chris Levack I went and saw him in February at a local comedy club. His misdirection is getting better and better all the time. I couldn't believe how often he had me totally fooled on where his jokes were going during his routine.

Yup! Short and sweet - WELL thought out smart jokes - and nice and twisted. Hasn't been a guy like this around for ages. (though I'm still a huge Doug Stanhope fan - he never gets even slightly dull or predictable either)
Idk who that nobody zero was in the beginning of the video but anthony jeselnik is an ABSOLUTE FUCKING KILLER and I wish he was more popular now. He should have an HBO show, or maybe Showtime, something with no restrictions like he had on comedy central
I remember watching this when it aired and never having heard of him, I remember thinking there was something way different about this one. Not the typical run of the mill club standup comic.
Adam Smith I think he's right. Jimmy Carr isn't that good. Frankie Boyle on the other hand is far better at this style of humor than both of these guys together. As good as either of them can be, Boyle comes up with that calibre of material on the spot.
noones fucking racist. yeah some jokes are offensive but what the fuck is it. its a joke, there is no hate, fuck all these judgmental imbeciles who try to be comedy police
Interesting how his style evolved. Here his material seems forced and rehearsed, compared to now he casually walks around the stage like it's a normal conversation with the audience.
The reason they don't get "cancelled" is because they're not pieces of shit in real life, on stage these are characters and nothing else. Burr isn't an eccentric asshold 24/7, that's part of him but when he's performing it comes across as all of him.
@@steved8714 no one seems to care what kind of person you are off stage. Look at Kevin Hart and the heat he received for past comments. Lots of good people have been cancelled for stuff they’ve said
Yes I've been thinking it. Not on this recording as much, possibly more on recent podcasts etc. both from Pittsburgh. Jeselnik has mentioned it on some of his podcasts. He says most of his family speak like that!
He should have somehow make a connection between the jokes so it would sound like a story which would have make it more effective. That last one was a kick in though.
+xxlCortez Sorry, non native speaker here. Can you explain that joke to me? I don't get it. "You don't know pain until you've seen your own baby drowned in a tub. And you definitely don't know anything about how to wash a baby." I mean, is the joke that I let the baby die during bath? If so the joke isn't even mediocre but he claims it's perfect. There must be something I don't get.
+xxlCortez Thanks for your quick response. Yeah I mean I love dark humor and I love Jeselnik, I just thought there was something more to that joke in particular because he praised it afterwards. Anyway, thanks again
Ace Bandage way different. You can’t compare him to those guys. Funny but what he does doesn’t require much else other than the joke. No stage presence no story telling no call backs etc
Love it when he flashes that devilish smile. The crowd is too uptight
Does his "devilish smile" turn you on, Tom?
Turns me on that's for damn sure.
Lmao was just thinking that same thing as I read this
Turns me on
niv tom Nah man! The crowd were in shock! Anthony’s style is nothing before him. His jokes are so intellectually funny and dark. Compare the first awkward laugh he received and the last laughs. He had them eating out of his hands. And we accepted that dark jokes are funny

He is the true master of the unexpected punchline.

Wright, Hedberg.
Jeselnik's timing is quite his, but both Wright and Hedberg are huge influences
King of crude.
Anthony is so good at keeping his pulse on the audience. He knows what will work and what won't
Dude just did a Shakespeare joke then performed it in Iambic Pentameter; then ended it with “you should probably read more”.. and it was too gd brilliant to not mention.
who the bard ? he the bard
iambic pentameter is my bitch :P
It took me a minute to get the Romeo and Juliet reference. I don’t notice any iambic pentameter tho??
From the way you noted that, I feel like you're actually Anthony.
I remember watching this with my Grandpa back in 2012, and had no idea I was discovering a legend.
i love this dude's comedy. Lighten up if you dont
Darken,

I love how he's not afraid to cross any lines.

Best I've seen in a long time.
This dudes punch lines are vicious.
The DUI joke is a straight up 10! Probably his best joke.
Watching this guy's shows while high is as good as life gets 😂
You should stop doing heroin.
This guy is good. Hope he gets the recognition he deserves one day.
😂
@302 Onewheel I mean really. If this guy doesn't get a Netflix special, with all the crap on there now. A boycott would be in order.
Dude HE’s already has his specials! Y’all just talk, no research at all
Seeing him in June! Can't wait!!
How was it?
Anthony needs a daily podcast or something similar. He’s amazing
David Thorn he does

Imagine the shock on my kid's teacher's face when I told her my parenting how-to video was an Anthony Jeselnick show.
i only just discovered this guy about 2 weeks ago, hes a fucking genius
I first saw him years ago.
I first saw him fairly recently. Not like last week, but not too long ago, but like years, but not a lot of years. A good while ago, basically.
