I agree the automatic is faster than the manual. I just prefer to row the gears. It's more of an exciting experience for me to have a manual. I'm not racing the car. It's fast enough for me as a manual and I just prefer to shift gears. By the way, your Mach one looks amazing. Love that color.
@haromaster6086 thank you! At the time I bought it, the colour was important to me. As for the manual vs automatic, they are both great. It's all about your preference. Cheers! 👍👍
I have been a life long manual trans guy. I purchased a 2021 Mach 1 with the 10-speed auto just to experience the new technology. I continue to be extremely impressed with the trans and the amazing calibration. In late April I enjoyed participating in the Mach 1 Track Attack day at Charlotte Raceway. I selected a manual trans car for that experience and to compare the two different drivelines. The Tremec 3160 is an amazing transmission but I came away pleased that I selected the auto trans for my Mach 1. In either case these are simply amazing cars.
I too had a long list of manual cars in the past. But the last Mustang GT I had was an automatic. That was a big part of my decision to get my Mach 1 with the automatic. The shifts are quick and crisp, the power is always matched perfectly to wherever I drive the car. I'm going to the Track Attack very soon. Maybe I'll do as you did and give the manual a try, it couldn't hurt. Either way, I think the Mach 1 is an amazing car! 👍👍
@@grratana I find my Mach 1 is always in the right spot in the power band. I've tried the different settings, and I find the tuning to be very well done! 👍👍
Can’t go wrong with either. I do feel the manual will be more collectible. I agree the automatic is faster and easier for a daily driver. I own an automatic S197 and a manual S550. My favorite Mustang has to be the Mach 1. If one presents itself at the right price maybe one day.
@sportsterrider2087 the Mach 1 is a great car with either transmission. If you can find the right car, don't pass up getting one. I'm not concerned about collectabilty, they will be worth whatever in the future. For me, the daily drivability is more important. 👍👍
I personally like both . If we were back in the 80’s or 90’s I’d call you a fool for going auto but man these autos today are crazy fast. They shift so quick and are tons of fun. nice stang brotha!
Thank you! I agree with you. If it were 30 or 40 years ago, then it would have been a manual transmission as my choice. No doubt. Back then the automatic transmission didn't perform as they do now. 👍👍
Beautiful car man. I’ve driven 2 different Mach 1 HP’s with the 10-speed and the tremec. Tremec was more fun, but the 10-speed is unbeatable. Both great transmissions
I have the automatic and really enjoy it. I use the paddle shifters and S in the gear selector when I feel like being in control of the shifting. I also have a 2021 Challenger T/A and have a Tremec manual in that one so I get the best of both worlds.
You do have the best of both worlds! Very nice! Much like yourself, I use the sport mode and paddle shifters occasionally. But, usually I let the 10R80 do its thing. It's one quick shifting transmission! 👍👍
No question the 10 speed is faster. But its not always about speed. If you need to be the fastest, then yes get the auto. Personally, I have had the 10 speed and I couldn't do it. I felt like the car drove me vs me driving the car. I have a 22 mach 1 6 speed and I love it! Either way you go, they are both fun in their own ways. Much love
Thank you very much! I try to make content about my Mach 1 that is helpful and informative. The automatic in the Mach 1 is so much better in all around driving than the manual. Especially if you are planning to drive the car regularly. As a plus, the automatic can still provide control over your shifting if you want. It's a quicker car with the automatic. If you can compare the manual to the automatic as I did, you'll see that the automatic is the better choice. But it is an individual preference. Either way the Mach 1 is an excellent choice! Cheers! 👍👍👍
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my video! The A10 is an amazing transmission to have behind the 5.0 Coyote. It's very quick, whether you are drag racing or taking it to the track on a road course. I'm definitely very happy with my choice of the A10 over the manual. I did drive a manual at the Track Attack. While it was very good, and it was fun, the automatic cars were quicker all day long. Enjoy your car! 👍👍👍
Automatic all day and I've owned manuals. Sure they're fun to drive but today's automatics are a different animal with lighting quick shifts and some of them also the abilty to shift on the steering wheel with the paddle shifters..which is fun and a cool experience itself. Getting stuck in traffic jams with the manual sucks so bad. You made the right choice going auto. Beautiful Mach 1.
I completely agree! Thank you for your kind words and well stated comment. Everything you have said is true. My automatic is amazing! It knows exactly which gear I need at every corner and twist in the road. As for flat out acceleration, it's much quicker than the manual. I drove a manual at the Track Attack. It was fun, but the automatic cars were quicker around the track everytime. I'm enjoying my Mach 1. It gets lots of attention everytime I drive it. Cheers! 👍👍👍
100% with you on this one. In my case, the Auto would be the best choice do to the traffic… if i ever want to drive it to work i need an auto. I had a 08 GT500 and didn’t drive it to work much because it was a giant pain in rush hour traffic.
Exactly my thoughts. The auto is quicker shifting too. I drive my car in heavy traffic at times, the auto makes the drive way more enjoyable for me. After owning a 2019 GT convertible with the 10R80, buying the Mach 1 with the auto was the only logical choice. 👍👍
One of the main reasons to get the Mach 1 is the badass manual, leaps and bounds above the GT manual. Getting an automatic in this car is like choosing an EV, NOTHING wrong with it at all, but an odd choice for this particular car. To me this is the culmination of the ICE engine, analog driving, for a Mustang, so getting it in manual would be my only choice. But enjoy the automatic my man! definitely quicker, but so is the Tesla Model S Plaid.
I'm glad you love your car! There is a lot to like about the Mach 1. As for retained value, time will tell if the manual will be worth more or not versus the automatic cars. Personally, I'm enjoying my car today. Not too concerned about the future value. Life's short, live like there's no tomorrow, lol!
I'm pretty sure there are more automatic Mach 1's than there are manuals, so I can see that being the case. But at the same time, most people don't know how to drive stick now days, and possibly less in the future so who really knows. The value may not differ too much however since the car is already pretty limited regardless, especially those handling pack Mach 1's.
The good news is there are two good options to pick from with good reason. I'd be happy with either but think I would prefer the manual just because l like the engagement and experience.
Yes,i agree, with modern computerized technology, the new automatics ARE faster than the manuals, but for me however, the manuals are just so much more fun to drive and that Tremec is such a great manual transmission,so if i were to buy a new Mach 1,i would have to go for the performance/handling package with the tremec 6 speed manual and the leather Recaro seats in fighter jet grey of course, but i understand your reasoning and feelings about the 10 speed automatic,it is a great transmission and it IS faster than the manual! It was the right choice for you!
The automatic was the right choice for me, but I would've bought my car either way. If you can get yourself a Mach 1 the way you described it, you'll be very happy with your car! These are truly amazing cars, better to get one while they're still around. Cheers! 👍👍👍
I like the automatic. Coming from the GT350 as a daily driver in bumper to bumper traffic, that clutch action gets old kinda fast. Other than that, love the manual.
If I could, I'd have one of each in a Mach 1. I do drive my car quite a bit in traffic, making the automatic a better choice for me. It's good to have the option to choose.👍👍
The S550 Mustang is so much better looking than the 2024 S650 cars. The wheels I have are the handling package ones. They are wide, and you'll be able to run up to at least a 325 wide tire at the rear. Excellent! 👍👍
Congrats on the car! I have a 911 auto, so I went with the manual on the Mach1 hp. I enjoy both. If I was going to daily drive it, I would’ve went auto, but I daily Tacoma.
Thank you! I'm loving my automatic Mach 1! These are amazing cars no matter which transmission is in them. You have the best of both worlds with your cars! Plus you have a great truck too! Enjoy them! 👍👍👍
I agree with a lot of the comments below. Whatever your preference is Manual or Automatic, purchase what you want. I am purchasing the manual, and yes, on balance the automatic is faster than the manual, but the comparison to the 2017 Camero and the auto Mach 1 is not a true comparison. The Mach 1 was designed to be a road course vehicle. The way it loses, in a fair comparison, is a manual Mach 1 and a new auto Mach 1, where the auto has yet to have time to learn to shift points on the road course. Nevertheless, I love your car and I agree with having decorum on your channel. We can disagree in a polite manner. I am still waiting for my Mach 1, manual of course. 🙂Ford website says it will be built on June 6th, about one year since I ordered it. Keep driving your Mach 1 and who cares what anyone else thinks, so as long as you love your car, that is all that matters. Thanks.
Thank you for your very well stated reply! I agree that a comparison between a manual and an automatic Mach 1 on a road course would be a much fairer comparison. You have been waiting a long time for your car. I was very fortunate on my search, I found my car about an hour or so from my home. I bought it immediately, knowing that if I didn't I would face a long wait similar to what you're experiencing. Hope you get behind the wheel of your new car soon Ultimately! Ultimately, we buy our cars equipped as we prefer. You really can't go wrong buying a Mach 1. These cars are just so much fun to drive! 👍👍👍
Great points, I prefer one hand on the wheel and one on the stick pretending it’s 1969 🤓. The bummer of the auto is you can’t shift with the shifter like the Challenger.
I have a 2010 gt500 in manual and honestly I love that auto box. I wish I could have had that because manuals are old school that’s all. Autos are the future. Way better, smoother, faster and much more fun with downshifts etc. love your car, it’s an amazing machine 👍👍👍
Thank you! I can hardly wait to drive my car when the roads are salt/sand free and it's spring in my area. The 10R80 is an excellent match for the 5.0 in my Mach 1. But, your GT500 is also an amazing car too! The manual in your car is also excellent! The automatics back in 2010 were not as good as they are now. I have a 2002 Camaro SS with a 6 speed manual, and for its time the manual was the way to go. 👍👍
I am getting ready to get a 2022 Mach 1 and it is an automatic. I chose to get an automatic over the manual. The main reason is because it shifts a lot faster than a manual and that is really good in my book. Just my opinion and that is the main reason I am getting an automatic. Great points you made and awesome looking Mach 1.
I agree, the automatic is much quicker shifting than I could with any manual transmission. The engine is always in the right power band with the automatic. I'm certain you'll enjoy your '22 Mach 1 with the 10R80. When you do get your car, drive and enjoy it, cheers! 👍👍👍
Great video, this is my personal opinion. Mach 1 is an amazing , not cheap, car either way you go, but if I were to get one, which I want, it would be manual, just because of the tremec transmission, which is only available on a Mach 1, to me that’s even more special about the Mach 1. If I wanted an automatic, I would just buy a GT. Again that’s just my opinion, it’s your car, your choice, and an amazing car either way. Great stuff 👍
The Mach 1 is a great car either way. The Tremac is a great transmission, no doubt. But there are changes in the 10R80 that make the one in the Mach 1 much different than the one in the GT. I'm really enjoying my Mach 1 with the 10R80. It's one awesome car! 👍👍
Exactly! The Mach 1 has the best of Shelby and Bullitt parts plus more! These are great cars all around. I'm glad I have one! Enjoy your car as well! 👍👍
Ooh, let me tell you. I've owned an automatic mustang before. The only time I've ever had a good time in one is when I was doing stuff that would get me in trouble. Personally I don't like doing that stuff anymore. I just like regular driving. That's where a manual shines. Regular driving. And I believe I'm in the minority that enjoys driving a manual in traffic too. You just don't really have to go fast or do illegal things to enjoy a manual. But with an automatic, it's all about speed and quickness. At that point you can only truly enjoy your car if you go to the track or the drag strip. But with a manual, since it makes regular driving a blast, you get to enjoy the hell out of it no matter what.
I can relate to your experiences. I've driven a lot of manuals over the years. I've also had both manual and automatic Mustangs. Both are a lot of fun. I currently have a 6 speed Camaro SS parked next to my Mach 1 in my garage. I have the best of both worlds. Depending on my mood I can appreciate either car. Keep enjoying you car. Much like yourself, I would've bought my car with either transmission. It happened that my car had the automatic, which for my purposes, is an excellent transmission in an excellent car. All that really matters is that we enjoy our cars and respect each other's preferences. Chrers! 👍👍👍
I agree that the automatic is quicker but I also personally think the manual is more fun to drive. I don't discount the automatic is fast as hell and still an awesome car but personally I just love the shifting and the feeling of being in control. I really think both are great options and it honestly comes down to the driver and what exactly they want. Don't let anyone get to you that says the automatic is a lesser vehicle because it's not. They are both fantastic options and just come down to what the driver prefers in my opinion.
Exactly, both are fantastic options and you should be allowed get whatever suits your needs. Nothing wrong with going manual or automatic, all preference. Not to mention, the Mach 1 especially with the handling pack is a fantastic car. 👍
@@alvaromolina1623 the handling package car is the one to get! I'm still running the Cup 2 tires, they are the stickiest tires I've ever experienced! If I can get through this season, I'll probably run the 4S tires next year.
Love it man... want one myself and that's velocity blue isn't it? It's a shame they don't make them anymore. Haters are always gonna hate though... is what it is. That 10 spd is the best transmission out there, although for ho hp builds, it will also need to be built. But yeah, I want a 10spd as well with the track pkg & aound system. Maybe one day I'll have the cash and be able to find one with next to no mileage on it... just maybe.
Thank you! Yes it's Velocity Blue. Only one year, the 2021 Mach 1 had that colour. The 10R80 is an amazing transmission! I've heard of supercharged and twin turbochargered Mach 1s with the stock 10R80 running with no issues. Hopefully you will have your Mach 1 one day soon. They really are great machines! 👍👍👍
It's different, not better not worse. It depends on what you want to do with it. Racing at the strip yes, track not so. If you can drive, it's faster. For daily driving in traffic the auto is better. It's all in the driver, don't let the Haters get you. You have a gorgeous car.
Thank you! I really enjoy my car with the 10R80 transmission. It's exactly what I wanted. Recently I've been driving my 2002 Camaro SS, it has a manual. It brought back all the years of manual driving "joy", lol! I much prefer my Mach 1 over the manual Camaro SS. Also, if you can attend the Mach 1 Track Attack, do so! It's a top notch course and you will learn a lot about your car. The ability to drive on the track and see what the Mach 1 can do is well worth it. I did ask the instructors their thoughts on the automatic vs the manual Mach 1s. They just looked at me and said the Mach 1 with the 10 speed is 8 to 10 car lengths quicker on the track than the manual Mach 1. That was an eye opener for me.
Love my 2018 Gt 10 speed. No one will convince me a manual is more fun, or engaging. Certainly not faster in any way. I mean, why buy a car as fast as this and slow it down with a manual? But you know what they say about opinions, everyone has one.😂
As someone who bought a GT, I could not get over how awful the MT82 manual is, so the automatic it is for me. The Tremec in the GT350 and now the Mach 1 is amazing and you can have it any way you want!
@trevorcunning6248 agreed. I've had many manuals over the years. Road raced, drag raced and generally had a lot of fun. But this time, I bought my car for different reasons. I'm really enjoying having the automatic this time. 👍👍
The 10R80 is one quick shifting transmission! The one in the Mach 1 has a different calibration than the one in the GT. I've driven the Mach 1 with the automatic and the Tremac 6 speed. I can safely tell you that the automatic is quicker on the track as well as the street. I'm very happy with my choice of the 10R80 in my Mach 1. 👍👍
I bought my 2022 GT with a manual box. I have no desire to race and I don't care how much quicker the automatic is. I just like driving on back country roads and watching the scenery go by. I started driving on a stick shift and I've never lost the desire for another one. I'm in no hurry, but I like to be in control. I have several automatic daily drivers. But I have always wanted another muscle car ever since I sold my 2010 GT. And I'm well into my 70s.
You have a very nice car! Enjoy every minute you have with it! I've driven lots of manuals. Too many, lol! I don't miss the manual in the type of driving I do with my car. I'm just happy to have a Mach 1. Cheers! 👍👍👍
I've driven both Tremec and automatic Mach 1s on the track. Sure, the Tremac is "fun" shifting it up and down. But it will never beat the 10R80, whether in a straight line or road course. That's the facts. I do have a Tremac equipped Camaro if I really want to shift my own gears. However, I prefer the 10R80 equipped Mach 1 over it.
I went out of my way (flew over 7 states) to get a manual 2021 Mach 1. I'm glad I did it, but you can't go wrong either an automatic or manual. I figured this would probably be the last car I buy where you have the option to get a manual transmission.
I think you may be correct about being able to buy a manual car in the future. Not sure if many at all will be available. Congrats on your Mach 1, enjoy it every chance you can get! 👍👍
Great video. I would like to ask if anyone thinks it's a problem that I don't see the "2" second gear come up on the upshift, no matter how slow I increase the accelerator. I did notice it shows up on the coast down.
I've noticed that too. I don't know if it's a problem though. It might have something to do with the shift logic programmed into the TCM. The transmission upshifts so quickly.
I've had lots of sticks. I currently have a 6 speed 2002 Camaro as a garage mate to my 10R80 equipped Mach 1. Hands down, the 10R80 Mach 1 is so much quicker than any stick equipped car I've ever owned. I'll drive my 6 speed Camaro on occasion, but my 10 speed Mach 1 is a much better overall car for any type of driving.
After having all manual trans cars my entire life, my auto hellcat is a beast and no regrets.... it's so much easier to check my email, switch on spotify, not spill my coffee and eat my lunch in my auto....can't do any of that without crashing in a manual....but one benefit of manual....unlimited stall and dumping the clutch at 5 grand...
I too purchased my Mach 1 with the auto trans. I did not want the 6 speed. I have owned many cars with manuals and I now prefer the auto. Driving in traffic with a manual is nothing short of a pain in the ass.
That is correct! I've been stuck in lots of traffic in the past with my manual cars. Not a fun time! The automatic is perfect for my tastes. I drive my car regularly and it's a better drive especially in traffic!
Hey man auto or stick your Bless to have a It. It looks gorgeous. I had a nice 2007 get, everything was new. Only had 14,000 on the motor and some idiot threw on brakes and I totaled it. I’m either going to get a 350 but really headed towards the mustang Mach 1. Keep enjoying, don’t worry what others say do you my friend
Thank you. I am very lucky to have been able to find and buy a new Mach 1. I am very happy with my car and it continues to impress me every time I drive it. Sorry to hear about what happened to your car. Hopefully you can also find a Mach 1. You will not be disappointed with one. These are amazingly good cars! 👍👍👍
I’d love to see two identical track pack Mach 1 stangs, one auto one manual and one driver same day with same tyres on both same fuel etc do flat out 5 laps of a race track and the standing qtr mile in both cars to really see the difference.
That would be an awesome match up! I'm waiting to see that video too. Maybe someone will make a video like that, to show the differences between the cars. Excellent idea!
@@CoyoteAUS I agree! This is a match up that must be done to finally show the difference between the cars. Also it may silence some naysayers...or open the eyes of some others. Either way, it has to happen!
The Ford Performance Mach 1 track attack instructor told me there is 10 car lengths difference between the auto and the manual. The manuals cant keep up. This was stated in the classroom. I will never be able to drive my Mach 1 like they did during the demo ride! I have the sane car, hp velocity Blue automatic and i absolutely love driving it!
I like both transmissions. Just a question: I've heard the TREMEC transmission to be a very reliable one, does someone have an idea if the automatic is of the same quality?
I don't know. I have driven cars with both transmissions. The Tremac is an amazing transmission. Seemingly bulletproof. I've had two Mustangs with the automatic and I've never had any issues. My 2018 F150 with the 3.5 ecoboost had the 10R80 too. My truck has around 160,000 kms (100,000 miles) with zero transmission issues. That's my proof the automatic will stand up to the test of time. 👍👍
The 3.73 rear ratio is what helps the 6 speed to stay competitive with the 10R80. The gear ratios in the 10R80 transmission allows the use of the 3.55 rear gear in the automatic cars to be quicker overall and still not rev too high at higher speeds.
Beautiful car man, and the color... Velocity blue is by far one of the best colors on mustangs, too bad it got discontinued. Anyways, I have no problems with Mach 1's being automatic or manual. Both transmissions are great, and the car itself is great with lots of performance. There's nothing wrong with what you get; the 10R80 is faster and even feels like a manual when it shifts. The Tremec is more fun and engaging since you're doing everything, not to mention it's a Tremec 3160. What bothers me personally is that some idiots strongly believe that the Mach 1 should have only come in manual, and that anyone who bought one with the 10R80 should've just gotten a GT cause its the same thing and cheaper. I'm pretty sure everyone who was able to buy a Mach 1 bought the car because they loved it, and was worth the money. Not to mention, the 10R80 in the Mach 1 is tuned specifically for the mach 1, so no it's not the same thing. The funny thing is that the people who do say these things about the 10R80 Mach 1's don't even have a Mach 1.
Exactly! The Mach 1 with an automatic isn't the same as the GT. I've had a few "debates" about the Mach 1 being manual only. The issue is, a lot of buyers of the Mach 1 actually understand their needs and buy the automatic. Both transmissions are outstanding. I'm glad I bought my car when I did. That colour sold me immediately!
@@lilredcrvtt They really aren't the same, and I don't see the problem with wanting an automatic anyways. There are situations where potential buyers want an automatic cause of heavy traffic where they live. Maybe an injury prevents them from driving manual. Hell, maybe even because they don't know how to drive stick. Regardless of the reason, it would suck to be excluded from enjoying such a great car just because of that. Thankfully Ford decided to offer the Mach 1 with both transmissions, which again are both great. They did say the Handling pack Mach 1's were only going to be manual at first, but later changed their statement because of popular demand for the 10R80. I'm actually looking into trading in my 2020 velocity blue GT premium performance pack 1 for a Mach 1 with the handling pack. Currently, I'm talking with a dealer in my state, and he told me about possible allocations in July. I put in an order for a 2022 race red Mach 1 premium with the handling pack, recaros, red calipers, fully loaded basically.
@@alvaromolina1623 very well stated! You understand the situation. The Mach 1 is an amazing car. It's mostly Shelby suspension with a 5.0 Coyote. I would've bought my car, regardless of transmission. That it was an automatic, made my choice easy. I hope you can get a Mach 1. You will love that car! 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt I definitely will! It even has the intake manifold, throttle body, and air intake from the GT350. The cooling parts from both the GT350, and GT500, and the exhaust are from the GT500 as well. Not to mention, those fat michelin pilot sport cup 2's: 305's in the front and 315's in the back. There was an oxford white handling pack Mach 1 at my local dealer when I went in for an oil change three months ago. I fell in love with how aggressive it was compared to my GT. Unfortunately it was a customer car (green window sticker), but if it wasn't I probably would have pulled the trigger even though white isn't my favorite color on cars. It was an automatic too.
@@alvaromolina1623 these are amazing cars! I preferred the blue and was fortunate to find my car last December about 1 hour for my home. I hope you get your Mach 1 soon too! Cheers brother! 👍👍
Faster vs more Fun. I already have 2 Mustang's with sticks (Saleen & Cobra). So yes, the next Mustang (Mach 1) will be an auto. If I didn't already have manual 2 Mustang's, the Mach would in a manual. In the end, It's the owners choice.
Very well stated! It really is the owners choice. I have an automatic Mach 1, but I've had manual Mustangs in the past. For my type of driving, the automatic is a much better choice. Either way, enjoy your cars! 👍👍
Sick car for sure! Love all the different setups. That being said if you know how to drive a manual transmission and know where the power is at on your car I think it's a huge advantage. I've rolled vs a newer mustang gt 10spd auto pp2 and all he was seeing was tail lights. I have a gt350 with the 6 speed tremec. You can punch it all you want, if I'm sitting at 4000 in the power already and my car revs to 8250 Its going to be hard for the auto. Now throw an mt82 transmission in a car with similar power you definitely win I agree. Depends really I guess
The MT82 is definitely not the transmission a Tremac is for sure. The automatic in my Mach 1 has a much different calibration versus the GT with the automatic. I've had both and there is a distinct difference in the way my Mach 1 shifts. I've owned a lot of manual transmission cars, and ordinarily I would agree that they were quicker than their automatic counterparts. But, not in this case. Now to be fair, your car produces more horsepower and torque than a GT. Plus you'll be in your power band most of the time at the higher rpms. You'll beat a stock GT every time. It's all in how the GT 350 was configured, it's a quick car and I would think a blast to drive. Enjoy your car as much as possible! It's a very cool ride! 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt it was a performance pack or s550 which do pretty well. Different variables I guess but the 10spd I’ve heard does do very well In any case. I would think it would be much easier to get a good launch as well. I’ve heard nothing but good things in all the reviews I’ve watched on the Mach 1. Some of the parts are actually off the 350 and 500 which is dope too. Sick car though I do really like what they did with it. Just giving you grief because I do love the setup in my 350 it screams and I have total control. Definitely see the benefits to the 10spd auto though too. I’m sure it shifts so fast you don’t even feel it
Ill agree with you the automatic is a little faster but I still ordered my 2022 Mach 1 premium with TREMEC, Handling & Elite package, no back seats in Cyber 🍊
You will really enjoy your Mach 1! You can't go wrong with either transmission. I drove a Tremac equipped Mach 1 at the Track Attack in Charlotte NC. It is a very good transmission and felt great on the track. Your car will be a lot of fun! Cheers!👍👍
I just bought a automatic same color you have ,, I think it is so must faster & funnier than the manual to a point ,, ,, and I do have a manual all so ,, I can not out shift my automatic,, car ,, with my manual ,,, these automatic im finding is more fun going up against some of the Camaro’s to keep up with them easier than any manual ,, I love manuals but these automatics are just amazing ,,
Congrats on your new car! I'm glad you're enjoying it. There is no way that anyone can shift quicker than the new automatic transmission. I love manuals too, I've had many. But the 10R80 is the best experience yet! 👍👍👍
Heavy traffic I would rather have a auto. However, I purchased manual 2021 Mach 1 just for weekends. If I drove it everyday I would have gone with auto.
i drive an 18 GT manual. at the time i knew the 10 speed automatic was faster but i really wanted to bang gears. it does get old especially in traffic as i daily drive it. manual is not fun ALL the time, especially if you dont have the rev match (on 2019 models this is standard) it can be hard to drive properly. also the clutch is loose stock and does not engage as the bite point is pretty far down
I understand your situation. Since I've experienced all of what you mentioned, I chose the automatic. While I too did love "banging" the gears, the lure of quick shifts and repeatability trumped the "fun" quotient. Enjoy your car as it is, I have a feeling manuals won't be around in the future. Cheers! 👍👍
Quicker stock to stock, yes...but then again....this is a mustang....nothing and I mean nothing is more fun than adding well planned mods and building power....so the stick can be the quicker car. Just took delivery of my loaded fighter jet grey manual...in the great white north, yup 85K is not cheap. Not my only vehicle so when I do take the Mach 1 out for a romp it needs to feel special, the manual does it for me, I look forward to the drive, the auto doesn't, in fact I just sold my M4 awd competition for 12 K more than I paid, 8 speed ZF auto that whips any mustang, manual or auto ....but....a stick, a V8 and RWD is in the end a more engaging and can be a better machine...especially with a Ford Performance supercharger bolted on. Don't consider myself a boy racer nor do I live in the past, I know what I enjoy and being engaged and in control is a big part of it. That said, thanks for the video, your car is a knock out and the main point is that you are enjoying it, the rest is what one prefers, all good no matter what!
Very well stated! You have an amazing car, enjoy it every chance you can! I drove a manual Mach 1 at the Track Attack a few weeks ago. Was it fun? Yup! I had a blast! But, on the track, the automatics ran quicker. I had seen it for myself. But it doesn't matter. The Tremac I drove was so much fun. Either way, the Mach 1 is an amazing car! I didn't want to wait a year or more to order my Mach 1. I found mine, with the right options, albeit with the 10R80, sitting in a showroom in Toronto last December. I bought it on the spot. No regrets. Have fun with your car, and get to the Track Attack when you are able to do so. You will not regret it! Cheers! 👍👍👍
That's awesome! You're going go love the Mach 1 with the 10R80. The transmission shifts quickly, both upshifts and downshift. It's one very quick car! 👍👍👍
Get what you want, enjoy it, shut up. I got a GT500 for speed and a GT350 for manual fun. Your car splits the middle and I like it. I drove your car in a fighter jet grey version w/ auto trans and I loved it. The computer program for the car is great but not as good as GT500.
I got 2023 Mach 1 10speed and it's so quick and fast comparing to my manual stang. Maybe I'm just not a perfect shifter or maybe it's just a manual thing. Hah! Hah! Hah!
Congrats on your new Mach 1! I agree with you, that the automatic is so much quicker than the manual. If you are able to go to the Mach 1 Track Attack, you can select a manual car as I did for the day. While the manual has it's "charm", the automatic is my choice over it every time. 👍👍
fun is subjective; so how can one person tell another what is more fun?? i might find fishing to be fun and another might see it as boring; this is what's really silly about these debates. real car enthusiasts don't disrespect a person's car because of a transmission type.
I've driven both types of transmissions in the Mach 1. They are both fun in their own ways. I generally ignore the negative comments and enjoy my car as it is. The reality is that not many people making negative comments actually own a Mach 1 with either transmission type. Also, yes I find fishing very boring too. 🤣👍👍
In my opinion anyone who buys the automatic solely because its faster is a fool. In the the grand scheme of things its a mustang with 480HP that will get smoked by all these new electric cars and other muscle/European cars on the streets now of days. On top of that who are you really racing? Most of the time you are driving around the city and or highway just enjoying the performance for yourself. People should buy whatever makes them happy or makes sense. I think the manual offers something from a bygone era and maybe will hold better value long term when V8 mustangs go away. But the automatic makes any mustang really enjoyable to drive everyday and feels very fast.
You make some good points. I drive my car regularly during the months that I'm able to do so. The automatic simply is a better choice for me. I've had many manuals and for my driving needs, I'm over them. You're correct that an EV will be faster than just about any I.C.E. vehicle. But its about more than that. EVs are soulless appliances, cars like the Mach 1 are not. As for the future values of a manual vs an automatic, I can't say which will be worth more. I bought my car to enjoy now and not to curate it for a future generation of ownership. Which is to say, I'm not concerned about the future collectabliity or value of my Mach 1. In any case, I'm very satisfied with my Mach 1 and the 10R80 automatic. I've driven the Tremac, it was fun, but all the same I'd buy my exact car all over again if I had to do it again. 👍👍👍
Automatic’s have always been faster. Drag racing or anything else. Anyone can go fast in a automatic and if that’s all you want great, be fast. You say not to bash you or your car but in a sense you bash those that “play boy”, so you are definitely asking for it. It takes a type of skill to drive manual and is the point for those that have or prefer them. I’m not talking about driving down the road slipping the clutch between gears crap you see on the streets of todays generation. These kids doing there rolling 40mph races thinking they’re car is all that, when they are racing someone that can’t drive. To many people are trying to be like their daddy but yet don’t know the first thing about what they are doing. Anyone can push a gas pedal but not everyone is proficient at manual. To each his own, and you are right, the ten speed is amazing. Point being that those who prefer manual also prefer the challenge and nostalgia of what was once a great muscle car generation. Not knocking automatics it’s just different. Anyone bashing you or your car is probably the same person slipping their clutch, missing gears, or are trying to race everything that’s in front of them so they can jerk off to their friends on social media. Keep on keepin on! Nice car. I have a white one!
Thank you, that was very well stated! You explained the situation much better than I attempted to in my video. You are correct, not many actually know how to drive a manual these days. I've been driving manuals for almost four decades. Both on the road and on the track. It is a different skill to be able to master getting the most out of your car with the stick shift. After all that time, I've decided to go with the automatic. I would have bought the car with either transmission. There is no wrong choice. Mostly, it was a matter of simply finding a Mach 1 that was readily available. I didn't want to wait a long time to get a car. It really is a matter of preferences. I don't miss the constant manipulation of clutch and gear selection. The upside is I have a Mach 1 and I'm enjoying it every chance I can find. I don't pay much attention to those that have a less than enthusiastic opinion on the automatic. But, you're correct that it's mostly those that haven't mastered the manual and don't have much of a clue about that either. I can really appreciate your perspective on this topic, as you also own a Mach 1. Enjoy your car too! Thanks again for your thoughtful comments. It makes it worthwhile for me to keep making videos! Cheers! 👍👍👍
also, if you hold both paddle shifters will it go to neutral where you can rev the engine? I heard the GT500 can do this, wondering if the mach1 can do this as well. -Thanks!
@@angelc2952 I occasionally use the paddle shifters. I can tell you a bit about them. When you put the transmission into Sport mode, there is a rev match that happens when slowing down. When I drive on twisty roads using the paddles, the car always sets up the right gear to exit a curve. It's a very slick set up. If I'm slowing down, I blip the throttle and instantly the transmission matches the revs, it sounds very cool! The main thing is that the transmission will not let the car over rev if you miss an up or down shift. I will say, that the logic built into the transmission makes using the paddles more for your enjoyment than any real increase in performance. The automatic transmission will shift faster than you can move the paddles or shift a manual transmission. It's simply just that good and quick! Even on the track, whether a drag strip or road course, the automatic is blazingly quick shifting, always putting the engine in the sweet spot for torque and power. I've driven Mach 1s with both the automatic and the manual. The automatic was quicker every time. The GT 500 has a different sort of transmission. It's a double clutch manual that shifts automatically aided by the computer logic built into the car. I haven't driven a GT 500, but I've talked to an owner of one. It's also a quick shifting transmission, but it feels different from a conventional automatic. I've never pulled back on both paddles, so I can't say if the automatic in the Mach 1 goes into neutral so that I can rev the engine. I'm sure it's possible, but I haven't tried doing that. In any case, if you don't use the paddles or forget to shift, the transmission will take over and handle it so there isn't any damage to the transmission. If you can, drive a Mach 1 with the automatic, it's programming is different from the automatic you'd find in a GT. I'm very happy with the performance of my Mach 1 with the automatic! I wouldn't have the car any other way. I hope I've been of some help to you. 👍👍👍
I love your opinion and I agree with your opinion what I say to all those people that's straight drive lovers I love to straight drive too but this new age that automatic is to kicker and what I say I say go to Xander and ask him if he wants to race and you get a supercharger just like his and put on your car y'all have the same mods in your race endless put the proof in the pudding for those straight drive Maniacs out there showing that the 10 speed will absolutely crucify their straight drive any day anytime of the week anywhere
Very well stated! That is precisely why I bought the automatic. The automatic is brutally quick shifting. I can't match the speed at which it shifts in a manual. Not a chance. But, either way you buy the Mach 1, you will certainly not be disappointed. Cheers! 👍👍👍
It would be great to have both manual and automatic Mach 1s. I agree that the manual would be fun to drive. Maybe not so much in daily traffic though. 👍👍
I dont know anyone that thinks a manual is faster, especially in the quarter mile. Maybe not on a track, the manual may have a advantage. But some of us just prefer it a manual gear box.
Having driven both the manual and automatic on a road course and drag strip, I can safely say that the automatic is quicker. There are times a manual can be "fun". Since I made that video, I have added a 6 speed manual equipment Camaro SS to my collection. It may not be the quicker car, but it can be enjoyable to drive. 👍👍
I've had three 10R80 transmission equipped vehicles. A 2019 GT, a 2021 Mach 1, and my daily driver 2018 F150. Never had one single issue with any of them. My F150 has over 174,000 kms (over 108,000 miles) and counting with zero issues. I did the transmission fliud and filter on my truck at 150,000 kms (93,000 miles), the fluid looked good and so did the filter. I don't see any problems maintaining the automatic transmission at all. There is no benefit from having a manual for me. As a side note, I would have bought my Mach 1 regardless of which transmission it had. After driving both transmissions in the Mach 1 on the track, I'd pick the automatic every time.
The automatic would get much hotter than the manual on a longer road or track run. I'd be interested to hear from anyone that has tracked their car and how the automatic stood up to it. I'm sure Ford engineers have vigorously tested the automatic with the handling package. It has to be able to withstand hard track use, otherwise why would they offer it?
Amazing car, but if you're not earning a living racing it, I can't see any argument that automatic is better than the manual. I get it's faster, but who cares. Are you racing it to pay the mortgage? If not, manual is the only way to drive a car like this. Thats how it was intended. Why I got a 20 gt350. Just my opinion and no offense to anyone.
No offense taken. You have a very nice car! I had a choice to make when I bought my car. Either I buy it, in the colour I want and with the automatic...or wait up to or over a year for a car. Possibly not in the colour I'd really want. I chose to buy my Mach 1 in Velocity blue with the 10R80 automatic. Now, I've driven the Tremac equipped Mach 1at the Track Attack. Do you know what?...I'd still take the automatic in a Mach 1. It does everything the manual does. Only it does it better and faster. No offense meant, but every time I drive my Mach 1, it reinforces my decision was the right one. For me. Cherrs 👍👍👍
No way. I will buy a car like that with an automatic.Yes the automatic is faster but that car should be equipped with a manual transmission point blank.
Sorry, I disagree. The 10R80 is calibrated differently from the one in a GT. Plus, it's quicker than the Tremac equipped cars. I can say this from experience on the track via the Mach 1 Track Attack. The car is essentially a Shelby GT 350 with a 5.0 Coyote. The handling package elevates the Mach 1 even more. Drive a new Mach 1 with the 10R80 and then compare it to a GT. You'll see that the Mach 1 is worth the premium.
Ill take manuel all day. If true to the stick game, driving manuel is easy especially in traffic. Problem is 99% who drives stick ain't efficient in it.
@cobra20500 Well, that's your opinion. I'll assume you have the manual transmission in your Mach 1 HP car. Am I correct in my assumption? If so, then you speak from your personal experience. I've driven stick for many decades. I'm ok not having to shift. At the time I bought my car, I had no choice. It was either buy that one, in my preferred colour and with the handling package, or get another car in a colour I didn't want and pay a huge dealer uncharge on top of it all, just to get a manual. I wasn't going to do that. I've had my car for almost three years now, and I'm very happy that I decided to buy it, even with the automatic. No regrets.
I've had a lot of manual transmission cars. I drove the manual Mach 1 at the Track Attack. In my experience and opinion, personally I'm not missing out. But, every one has their own opinions on this one. Either way, the Mach 1 is a great car. 👍
Automatic is definitely quicker in a drag race. But, I've watched a video of an automatic car on the track driven by Randy Pobst. I'm thinking the automatic might be quicker on the track too. A comparison between the two on a track would be worth watching.
The auto in sport mode is my choice for around town driving. I assume you have the manual in your Mach 1. I drove a manual Mach 1 at the track attack. It's a huge improvement over the manual in the GT. But, on the track, the automatic cars got around quicker.
You think you payed big for your car, poor ol aussies pay a lot more,my car is the same as your car without the handling pack, which we cant get here and i had pay 10,000 on what you paid,i have allways bought manual as well.I tried to buy a manual but only get auto with the blue and recaro seats,in Australia all manual and auto are the same price,i dont know if thats the case in Canada.I agree since buying and driving,i love the 10 sp auto
You have a great car! We pay more in Canada than what the cars are priced in the U.S. The automatic is an option that cost more, over the manual transmission I believe. But it's worth it for me! I think the price of gas in Australia is similar to what I pay in Canada. I had to buy my car when I did, otherwise I'd still be waiting for a Mach 1. It didn't matter to me if it was a manual or automatic car. Though, I did prefer the automatic as I had one in my last car, a '19 GT convertible. I don't understand why you can't get the HP cars in Australia. No matter, drive and enjoy your car as much as possible! Cheers! 👍👍👍
yeah back in day sticks were fun to drive lol, especially when they were the go to fast vehicles. But nowadays, you can't out shift today's automatics moon doggy lol. He actually has what I would get these days besides the gt500 lol. Now that sucker is over priced. Clearly this dude is not going to show us the car lol
There is a reason that the GT 500 and Corvette have gone "automatic". It's hard to beat the new technology. The 10R80 is a quick shifting transmission. Though there is nothing wrong with wanting to shift your own gears. For that the Tremac is hard to best too. Cheers! 👍👍👍
If you have ever had a dual-clutch trans this trans is not even in the same ballpark. My GTR had a awesome trans that I always used the paddles to shift- so fun. Gear selection is all over the place with the Ford auto. When I test drove the auto it would shift from seventh to third and just not for me. Sure its faster on the track and strip but when I go to track days 2 times a year I am only interested in beating my own lap times so its the experience over "fastest". I do not drag race so no interest there as well. I mean they do what- 12 second 1/4 times? That is nothing to brag about- if you want badass 1/4 times get a soulless Tesla Plaid. If you don't get that feeling as being one with the car with a manual then get the auto. Or should I say settle for the auto. I have the 10 speed auto in my Raptor and its what I hate most about the truck. Weak towing is a close second. Even in simulator driving games I prefer the manual even if the times are faster with the auto. There is a reason the used Audi R8 or Labo manuals are tens of thousands more than the autos. More fun to drive, -not faster; just a better experience.
That's your experience and opinion. It's as valid as any other. I've had lots of manuals. They have their place and yes, they can be fun. I'm not knocking them, but in my case, I like the 10R80. Different strokes for different folks. 👍
I got an idea. If you want a Mach 1 just buy it with the transmission you want and stop worrying about which one is "best" or what other people think. I have a stick in mine. I'm not a fucking "boy racer" I just like shifting gears myself. Hopefully before you spend $60.000 you are smart enough to know what you want.
You were doing good until you correlated “boy racer” to manual. Don’t ask people to be nice to you when you make derogatory comments about what they like. I’ve put 40,000 miles on my GT350 in a year, 8 different tracks around the U.S. and would easily lap you and your automatic. The difference in better “technology” only matters when you maximize your cars potential.
Thank you for your comment. Firstly, this is my experience, the derogatory comments about my car are from the "boy racer" type of guys, that feel the need to have "something" in their hands while they drive around. Again, my experience. That's a fact. Secondly, the Mach 1 is essentially a GT 350 with the Coyote motor. The Mach 1 is quicker as tested, than the GT 350 R on the track. Could you lap my car? I don't know, you have lots of track experience. But since they are very closely matched, a race between them would come down to driver skill. My point is that the Mach 1 is a great car with the automatic and also with the manual. I prefer the automatic, as it is my choice. To each their own.
@@lilredcrvtt The test was flawed. Just look at the facts...GT350R is lighter, with more horsepower, and bigger/stickier tires. How in the world did the Mach 1 win? The automatic is an awesome transmission and gives you one less thing to worry about, but it just comes down to seat time as you said. You are in the right with the unwarranted comments against auto transmission but I'm just saying...be better than the manual owners who say that...I was on your side (although manual is more enjoyable to me because of the connection between the car and driver) but F1 cars don't use manual anymore for a reason....
@@Juan-zk3dl I don't know how the Mach 1 beat the GT 350 R on the track. Maybe it was the tires? Maybe it was the driver and ideal conditions? But the time was only a second or two quicker. It really doesn't add up. The GT 350 does have more power. Either way, both cars are great and would do well on the track. I don't dislike the Tremac, I would've bought my car with it or without it. I didn't want to wait a year to get a '22 Mach 1 and the Velocity Blue isn't offered in '22. I had to buy my car when I did, if I would've hesitated, someone else would've bought it. I can agree my comment about the "boy racers" came from a place of frustration over the negative comments about my car being an automatic. On another note, I'll be going to the Track Attack in North Carolina soon. I'll likely be driving a Tremac equipped car. I'll make a video on my experience with it on the track. Hopefully that experience won't make me regret getting the automatic. Cheers brother! 👍👍👍
It's all about personal preference period...I chose the manual...that doesn't mean "boy-racer" to me as you suggest 😉...I bought what I wanted...Who gives a fat rats ass what anybody thinks...A ??
Exactly! 👍😎 You made the right choice for yourself, and you're correct, that's all that matters. My comment regarding the "boy racer" aspect was a generation. Not meant to disparage. A lot of negative feedback I've received about choosing the automatic has been from the "prototypical" boy race dudes that don't have the money to actually put up and buy a Mach 1 or shut up, lol! Enjoy your car everyday, as I do mine. 👍👍
Seriously dude, if that's how you think....you're totally missing the point. By the way, which transmission do you have in your 2021 Mach 1?...yeah...didn't think so...get one and then comment.
It’s just a question of having your own gears to slam onto or just holding a steering wheel and letting the car shift. Opinions vary. Autos are just boring AF to me. Just my opinion! You don’t have to throw BS insults like “ boy racer” whatever the F that means. The Mach 1 is an amazing car either way! I owned a GT500 w the new DCT and I sold it for a Mach 1 manual. I love my Mach. They aren’t fast cars but to me, it’s a lot more fun having useable 470 HP vs 700 plus unusable HP. Either way, you have a beautiful car brother. I have the Fighter Jet with handling appearance and elite pkg. they are awesome cars! Ford def hit it out the park with this one! I am currently shaker hooding and whipple charging mine so it’s in the shop now. Can’t wait to get her back! Enjoy your blue Mach bro. She’s beautiful! Great color! Peace ✌🏼
@ocasio3024 Thank you! The Mach 1 is a great car! Sounds like you are enjoying your car, too! When I made that video a while back, I was getting a lot of comments about the automatic in my car. My video came off a bit snarky towards the manual fans. I drove the manual Mach 1 at the track attack in Charlotte. I had a blast with it on the track! In any case, I would've bought my car regardless of which transmission it had. I've had lots of manuals, but this time I bought this car for a different type of use. I'm very happy with the automatic in my car. It suits the driving I do, especially in gridlock traffic, lol! Keep on building your car to your tastes. But most of all, drive the car as much as you are able. It has enough power to be a lot of fun! Cheers! 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt I totally agree
Beautiful car man. I’ve driven 2 different Mach 1 HP’s with the 10-speed and the tremec. Tremec was more fun, but the 10-speed is unbeatable. Both great transmissions
Thank you! You really can't go wrong with either transmission in the Mach 1, cheers! 👍👍👍
Much love
@6speedkillz821 very well stated! These are great cars in any case. Drive and enjoy your Mach 1 as much as possible. They are meant to be driven! 👍👍👍
Great clip, there comes a time when shifting gears especially in traffic becomes tedious so I'll go with the auto, love your work.
Cheers! 👍👍👍
Great video. Got Mach1 2022 A10 and still learning how to handle this beast. Was great to hear from you about automatic gearbox. Great video.
Got my Mach 1 with the 10r80 and couldn't be happier.
That's awesome! The Mach 1 with the automatic is an amazing car! Drive it as much as possible and enjoy your beautiful car!
That's the beauty of the Mach 1, you can have it anyway you want it! I'm loving the driving experience of the automatic in my car. Cheers! 👍
A manual car will retains it's value much better down the road. It's just more desirable to enthusiast. I love my Mach 1 manual!
Agreed!! Manuel’s will hold a higher value over time. Great to think ahead instead of being so caught in the moment. Being smart definitely pays off…
The good news is there are two good options to pick from with good reason. I'd be happy with either but think I would prefer the manual just because l like the engagement and experience.
Exactly! There are two excellent choices. Either way, you can't go wrong. 👍👍
AGREED, I’ve had six manual shift mustangs. Love them all but by far my favorite is my new 2023 Mach 1, 10 speed, automatic!
The 10R80 is the best automatic transmission I've ever had! In my opinion, it definitely is the way to go! 👍👍
Good looking car, I have a 2023 mustang gt with the 10 speed and its awesome, will be getting those wheels soon
That's true, and I seldom even bother using the paddle shifters too. I let the transmission do it's thing while I hang on to the wheel, lol! 👍😎
I like the extended GT500 extended spoiler by the front tires.
Thank you! I added them after much consideration. I had to make them fit. It all worked out and I get lots of positive feedback on them.
@@lilredcrvtt that’s correct, forgot that.
As a Mach 1 owner, I think they are all great cars and we should not be so opinionated by a person's personal preference. (Manual transmission)
Exactly! The Mach 1 has the best of Shelby and Bullitt parts plus more! These are great cars all around. I'm glad I have one! Enjoy your car as well! 👍👍
I have 2021 in auto and enjoy the auto for daily driving either way have fun
The automatic is my choice for driving in traffic. These are great cars! 👍👍👍
Thank you for that excellent comment! I totally agree with you on every point. It comes down to driver/owner preference. To each their own! 👍👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt The cup 2 tires were insane! I had to put 4S on mine because the cup2 were just too sticky for my roads 😅
@@snapp325y They also kinda suck in the rain. 😅
Exactly! I really appreciate how good the 10R80 transmission is in the Mach 1. As for opinions, you're correct, everyone has one, lol! 👍👍
As someone who bought a GT, I could not get over how awful the MT82 manual is, so the automatic it is for me. The Tremec in the GT350 and now the Mach 1 is amazing and you can have it any way you want!
Exactly! These are great cars either way, cheers! 👍👍👍
For acceleration and consistency, yes the auto is better but for driver experience and skill, manual is the way to go.
@trevorcunning6248 agreed. I've had many manuals over the years. Road raced, drag raced and generally had a lot of fun. But this time, I bought my car for different reasons. I'm really enjoying having the automatic this time. 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt to each their own brother.
haven't tried it on the Mach 1 but the 10spd is fast and has a lot of gears to play with, and the ratios are much closer than the 6MT
Cheers! 👍👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt Thank you Sir.
@@mschiffel1 you're welcome sir! 👍👍👍
Sorry man… but if it was a GT ok… but that Tremec man… I mean that’s the whole point, still a great car though
The transmission upshifts so quickly.
the auto makes sense if you have to deal with a lot of traffic. fun is the only performance metric that matters. sticks are just more fun.
Well there's that, lol! On the other hand, the automatic car has a very handy line lock feature. 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt this is really the only way how to compare cars.
@@lilredcrvtt Thank you for your reply, you're definitely helping me a lot here! For my peace of mind lol!
Stay safe! 😊🍻
@@kalinandonov2799 glad I was of some assistance! Cheers! 🍻
Ford put 3.73 rear end ratio behind the 6 speed manual otherwise it would be even slower. The auto has 3.55 gears
The 3.73 rear ratio is what helps the 6 speed to stay competitive with the 10R80. The gear ratios in the 10R80 transmission allows the use of the 3.55 rear gear in the automatic cars to be quicker overall and still not rev too high at higher speeds.
Correct & if my 23 mach 1 came with a 6 speed manual i wouldn't have bought it. One missed shift & an automatic equipped car drives around you.
@@gropeandchange5490 exactly! 💯 👍👍
Very well explained mate I love the 10
Speed auto it’s very much faster i’ve got one ( Nick from Sydney Australia)
Thank you! The 10 speed is a marvelous transmission! Ford has gotten the calibration just right with that one. Cheers! 👍👍👍
You have a very nice ride too! The Mach 1 is my favorite of all the cars I've owned. The 10R80 automatic is incredibly good in these cars! 👍👍👍
i drive an 18 GT manual. at the time i knew the 10 speed automatic was faster but i really wanted to bang gears. it does get old especially in traffic as i daily drive it. manual is not fun ALL the time, especially if you dont have the rev match (on 2019 models this is standard) it can be hard to drive properly. also the clutch is loose stock and does not engage as the bite point is pretty far down
I understand your situation. Since I've experienced all of what you mentioned, I chose the automatic. While I too did love "banging" the gears, the lure of quick shifts and repeatability trumped the "fun" quotient. Enjoy your car as it is, I have a feeling manuals won't be around in the future. Cheers! 👍👍
Need one of each haha!
The thought crossed my mind too, lol! One of each! 👍
LOL enjoy your car its awesome…

Cheers! 👍👍👍
I ordered the automatic.
Agreed! You sum it up very nicely! I checked out a GT500 before I bought the Mach 1, it is an amazing car. 👍👍👍
Don’t worry about the negative comments. Some people just have to gripe
True, I'm very happy with my choice! Let them squawk, lol! 👍👍👍
If I’m building a road grudge car an a10 is what I’m getting
The A10 is a quick shifting transmission! 👍👍
Cheers! 👍👍👍
Does the automatic have rev match when down shifting with paddles? thinking about getting the mach1 automatic.
also, if you hold both paddle shifters will it go to neutral where you can rev the engine?
No gas guzzler tax on the automatic 👍🏼
That's a definite upside to getting the automatic! 👍👍👍
10 Speed Auto All Day Every Day my R T R Mustang here New Zealand
It's really hard to beat the 10 speed auto! I'm glad you're enjoying your car too!
Cheers! 👍👍👍
if you want to keep your right hand free for your wife/girlfriend, etc. Go with auto
Exactly! I like to keep my right hand free to "take care" of my wife! 👍👍👍👍
The automatic is better in every way. I would still get the manual for the fun Factor.
Why would u think that manual is faster on track? Its slower everywhere
The problem is that 10spd has a lot of problems maintaining it sucks so manual for the piece of mind
After driving both transmissions in the Mach 1 on the track, I'd pick the automatic every time.
not enough coolers ask anyone with the 10speed that actually tracks their car

For me. Cherrs 👍👍👍
No way.
I will buy a car like that with an automatic.Yes the automatic is faster but that car should be equipped with a manual transmission point blank.
the manual would have been the better buy...you pay extra for the tremec, if the 10 speed is all you wanted then save the additional 20k and get a GT
No regrets.
If its not a manual just missing out. No amazing rev match sounds or clutch to dump to get you giggling. Just stopping on the gas gets boring quick.
I've had a lot of manual transmission cars. I drove the manual Mach 1 at the Track Attack. In my experience and opinion, personally I'm not missing out. But, every one has their own opinions on this one. Either way, the Mach 1 is a great car. 👍
If u r going drag racing. Automatic. Way to go ............ Around a track stick wins out.......
Automatic is definitely quicker in a drag race. But, I've watched a video of an automatic car on the track driven by Randy Pobst. I'm thinking the automatic might be quicker on the track too. A comparison between the two on a track would be worth watching.
The auto shines in wot no doubt. Regular driving around town get a bit clunky. Automatics are for “boy racers”. Lol I prefer the Man-uals
Cheers! 👍👍👍
yeah back in day sticks were fun to drive lol, especially when they were
the go to fast vehicles. But nowadays, you can't out shift today's automatics
moon doggy lol.
Cheers! 👍👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt yep faster than the human hand
Manual is way more fun the a10 is always going to be faster but I buy cars liek these for fun
👍👍

In any case, I would've bought my car regardless of which transmission it had. I've had lots of manuals, but this time I bought this car for a different type of use.
