2021 Mach 1: automatic vs manual transmission Part 2
Automatic is for chicks
The manual transmission is very enjoyable to drive, but if the automatic is what does it for you, that's all that matters. It's your car enjoy it.
@musclecars92 I have had a lot of manuals over the years. I would have bought my car regardless of the transmission. It just so happened that the car I bought was an automatic. It works well for me in the type of driving I do. At the Mach 1 Track Attack I drove a manual. It was a lot of fun, yet the automatics ran much quicker and faster around the Roval. I don't regret getting my car with the automatic. It's a quick car!
@lilredcrvtt absolutely the 10 speed automatic transmission is fast shifting. And your car is beautiful looks like it has the handling package it gives the vehicle a more aggressive stance take care of it enjoy it try to put some more miles on that thing too lol.
@musclecars92 thank you! I hope to be able to drive my car more next summer. Unfortunately, I had some health setbacks this year. But I'm slowly getting better. I'll not waste my car by leaving it in the garage. I'll get back out there and drive the wheels off of it, lol!
@musclecars92 it just so happens there is more to making a fun drivers car than boring "fast shifting" automatics lol. The 10 speed is prob the most overdone and overrated trans in history. They do well na because the gearing is like a crutch but aren't needed with big power and don't hold up that well to big power they even have alot of issues stock. All the 10r fanboys act like it was touched by the hand of God and is utterly perfect but they have alot of problems. I truly love the art of driving a manual too much I can't ditch that for a boring auto i just cannot do it. That said all the auto rev match bs is almost as bad. I want a manual because I want to DRIVE the car I don't want it doing it for me.
@midnight347 exactly well said it's sad that most of the kids today won't even have the pleasure of driving a manual transmission car because there slowly dying...I personally couldn't imagine my Camaro SS without it. Those who know get it and understand the beauty of having a V8 and manual transmission combination one of the best driving experience in my opinion. Not to mention the 6 speed tr6060 manual transmission is much more reliable than the 10 speed automatic transmission in my humble opinion.
Excellent advice, I'm in England, took mine out yesterday for one last 200 miles drive yesterday, forecast is cold and frosty, they heavily salt roads here, mines now going away until March or April.
@richyclubsport5155 better to store your car, rather than drive it on salted roads. Plus, there's the anticipation of driving your car in the spring. 👍👍
I picked this kit up for my 09 Kawasaki KLX 250s swing arm and I was really impressed with the match! Never heard of this company until recently and they don’t charge 120 dollars for shipping like colorrite lmao
@@keji5488 I was very impressed with the paint and the way it matched. I'm not sponsored by them, but I highly recommend Scratches Happen products. They also have great customer service too. I'm glad you had a good experience too! 👍👍
Can you link the dash cam you have please
@jimmy8bp575 I'm sorry but I don't have a link for it. I bought it at a local Canadian Tire store here in Canada. I checked on Amazon, they have a lot of newer cameras available at lower prices than I paid for mine.
I have a 22 Mach 1 HP, manual, FJG, have had no issues at all and love it. I agree with all you mentioned about the automatic, but when it comes to resale, manual hold their value better and are always more in demand.
@rustyrollo9110 that may be possible. These are great car! Foe me, I'm not worried about resale. It's about enjoy my car now. Cheers! 👍👍
Love your car i recently got a mustang and there so smooth driving
@PriMsWaRlorD Thank you! I've really enjoyed my Mach 1 since I bought it. They really are great cars! Enjoy yours as much as you can, cheers! 👍👍
Great routine, just like me my friend, car looks great! I’m in CT so another few weeks and it’s hibernation time for my baby. Love the rocker panel extensions!
@GarveyMustangMan thank you! I added some stuff to my car to make it to my taste. It's asleep for the winter now. Hopefully the winter won't be too long and it'll be back out on the roads again soon. 👍👍
Had my M1 HP in Eruption Green since Aug. '22 and I still LOVE it! I'm at 22k miles already, no issues.
@traxiii that's great! These are very good cars! Glad you're enjoying yours too! 👍👍
Eruption Green is an amazing colour.
I picked up a 2021 Mach 1 three weeks ago, I absolutely love it. Mine is Fighter Jet Grey with the Mach 1 Appearance package, Mach 1 elite package, 700A Equipment Group, 6 Speed manual, and the comfort seats. It is exactly as I wanted except for the Handling Package. I couldn't find one on the East Coast of Canada with the Handling Package, as it will likely only be on the track once a year at the most I can live without it. If I find that I absolutely need it I can always add the parts that make up the HP later. It's not my first Mustang, I had a 2019 Bulliitt but sold it because I didn't like the MT-82 manual transmission. The Mach 1 is what the Bullitt should have been.
@Sasquatch_by_Day-nv3yh sounds like you have a really nice car too! I was shopping for a Bullit after selling my 2019 GT convertible. But, I found the Mach 1 to be a better car. I'm glad I went with the Mach 1. I don't track my car. The HP option seems to give the car more presence and it definitely lives up to it's name. I was very fortunate to find my car when I did. As you know, the Mach 1 is the Mustang to have. Enjoy your car as much as possible, cheers! 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt Having owned both without a doubt the Mach 1 is a better car than the Bullitt. I sold my 2019 Corvette Grand Sport to get the Mach 1 after it had a less than stellar showing on the first track day I ever did. My friend has a Dark Horse that worked great at the track so I wanted to go back to a Mustang but don't care much for the looks of S650. A Mach 1 it had to be.
@Sasquatch_by_Day-nv3yh I agree about the look of the S650. The Darkhorse is essentially a Mach 1 under the new sheetmetal. I'm still not a big fan of the redesign. While I understand that Ford had to change things, I'm more an S550 fan. I've had Corvettes in the past. They were ok, but the Mach 1 is much better overall.
@@lilredcrvtt While I prefer the exterior styling of the Mach 1, I could maybe learn to accept the S650 exterior but there is no way I could ever get over that abomination of a screen on the dash of the Dark Horse. The 2019 Grand Sport I had was faster on the track than the Dark Horse but the 8 speed auto trans overheated on the second track session of the day (it was at the end of Sep so it wasn't that warm out), the 10R80 in my friend's Dark Horse performed flawlessly but i wanted the Tremec in the Mach 1 all the same. The Mach 1 is far easier to get in and out of (I have major back issues) and is much more comfortable than the Vette.
I am putting my '21 Mach 1 away this week, along with my other summer cars. My winter storage routine is exactly the same as yours. I used to put covers on my cars for storage but found they got dusty under them anyway so now I don't bother. I don't have to worry about bumping into them as I have a detached garage that all my summer toys go into for the winter, I close the doors in Nov and don't open them again until Apr.
@@Sasquatch_by_Day excellent! I'm not sure I'll put the car cover that came with the car, on the car. It does get dusty under it. I have a detached garage, but It is the 247EVL garage, lol! I get out there regularly, but mostly to film my videos. No one else goes out there, and I'm careful around my cars. 👍👍
Just saw your video do you still have it for sale I'm very interested thank you Gerald
@geraldmarcello2979 thank you for your interest. But no I don't have the car. It is sold. It found a new home a while back. I made a video about the day the car was picked up by the new owner.
@lilredcrvtt ok thank you for getting back to me
@@geraldmarcello2979 you're welcome. 👍👍
Your '21 and my '22 my routine for "winter" storage here in Arizona is very similar to yours. Air up the rubber, Sta-Bil, top off the tank with Shell nitro 91, park on carpet in the garage, hook-up battery-tender, wipe down with Meguiars ceramic detailer, cover with my factory Mach 1 car cover and I am good to go...we are brothers from different mothers my Canadian 🍁 friend!!!
@kevinsarkisian3668 absolutely we are 💯! Keep enjoying your Mach 1, as soon as the weather will allow in the spring! Cheers brother! 👍👍
Arizona doesn’t have rust issues tho
@@C0rvette454 I might be mistaken, but in the higher elevation parts of the state, there can be snow in the winter. I'm not sure what they put on their roads to manage the ice. But, I wouldn't drive my car in any sort of snow, regardless of where I live.
I agree the automatic is faster than the manual. I just prefer to row the gears. It's more of an exciting experience for me to have a manual. I'm not racing the car. It's fast enough for me as a manual and I just prefer to shift gears. By the way, your Mach one looks amazing. Love that color.
@haromaster6086 thank you! At the time I bought it, the colour was important to me. As for the manual vs automatic, they are both great. It's all about your preference. Cheers! 👍👍
Ill take manuel all day. If true to the stick game, driving manuel is easy especially in traffic. Problem is 99% who drives stick ain't efficient in it.
@cobra20500 Well, that's your opinion. I'll assume you have the manual transmission in your Mach 1 HP car. Am I correct in my assumption? If so, then you speak from your personal experience. I've driven stick for many decades. I'm ok not having to shift. At the time I bought my car, I had no choice. It was either buy that one, in my preferred colour and with the handling package, or get another car in a colour I didn't want and pay a huge dealer uncharge on top of it all, just to get a manual. I wasn't going to do that. I've had my car for almost three years now, and I'm very happy that I decided to buy it, even with the automatic. No regrets.
You’re a good man
@concordians2498 thank you! I am fortunate and blessed to be able to help out one of my children. 👍👍
hi the nice video, How do I know which length single arm I need to buy for my bathroom window? Also which hand side I should get? my bathroom window opens from right to left.
@ivanvelez7668 the make of the window crank operator and model number are typically stamped into one of the arms of the operator as I illustrated in my video. If you order the same model number and make of operator, you will get the correct one for your application. Also measure the arm from the end to the center of the mechanism as I showed in my video. This will ensure your order the correct operator too. I hope this is of help, cheers!
How much did you sell the car for??
@@IGStrangDaKang that is between me and the buyer. I'll just say it was a very fair deal for both of us.
@@lilredcrvtt lol ok….just wondering…i seen a very clean one for 13k thinking about buyin when i come back from vacation in 2 weeks
@IGStrangDaKang the car I had could not be built for $13K. It was a built 6.0 LS swap, 4L80E, built 8.5 rear axle, and much, much more. You might pick up a stock 2+2 for $13K. If it's clean, might as well buy it. 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt yea i kno its a stock 2+2

@BluedupK818 thank you and you're welcome! I was fortunate to be able to buy this car. It's super low mileage and pretty much a new car. I have some future plans for it. That will be likely in 2025 or beyond. Stay tuned. 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt very exciting!!!!!!
@BluedupK818 thank you once again. I'll do my best to post content about my new Cadillac. Thank you once again. Stay tuned. 👍👍
Buy what you want to drive. Personally, I won't own an automatic. If someone wants it over a manual, cool saves more mt available for me.
@jessicaphoenix1312 I like how you put that! I've had a lot of manuals. This time I bought an automatic. After almost three years of owning it, I'm still very happy with the way the car performs. For my driving needs, it fits in perfectly. Cheers! 👍👍
It’s just a question of having your own gears to slam onto or just holding a steering wheel and letting the car shift. Opinions vary. Autos are just boring AF to me. Just my opinion! You don’t have to throw BS insults like “ boy racer” whatever the F that means. The Mach 1 is an amazing car either way! I owned a GT500 w the new DCT and I sold it for a Mach 1 manual. I love my Mach. They aren’t fast cars but to me, it’s a lot more fun having useable 470 HP vs 700 plus unusable HP. Either way, you have a beautiful car brother. I have the Fighter Jet with handling appearance and elite pkg. they are awesome cars! Ford def hit it out the park with this one! I am currently shaker hooding and whipple charging mine so it’s in the shop now. Can’t wait to get her back! Enjoy your blue Mach bro. She’s beautiful! Great color! Peace ✌🏼
@ocasio3024 Thank you! The Mach 1 is a great car! Sounds like you are enjoying your car, too! When I made that video a while back, I was getting a lot of comments about the automatic in my car. My video came off a bit snarky towards the manual fans. I drove the manual Mach 1 at the track attack in Charlotte. I had a blast with it on the track! In any case, I would've bought my car regardless of which transmission it had. I've had lots of manuals, but this time I bought this car for a different type of use. I'm very happy with the automatic in my car. It suits the driving I do, especially in gridlock traffic, lol! Keep on building your car to your tastes. But most of all, drive the car as much as you are able. It has enough power to be a lot of fun! Cheers! 👍👍
At least backlight repair on an LG LCD is easier than doing front lighting on the Cadillac DTS. LGs seem to have a reputation, whether rightful or not, for great image quality (in their better-calibrated ISF modes or whatever they call it) and subpar backlights. And as an added bonus, the panel isn't glued in. Folks on the forums just recommend running the backlight at the dimmest tolerable setting to preserve them. For models made in the last ~10 years though, even 70% is plenty for a bright room.
@Browningate you are absolutely correct! Compared to doing the lights on my DTS, taking apart my TV was easy, lol! As it ended up, it was a ribbon connected to the main board that needed attention. I did adjust my settings. Since I made the video, the TV has performed flawlessly. But, in case I ever have a an issue, I kept the new light strips. I now have the experience to pull the TV apart and repair it if necessary. However, if it ends up unrepaired, I will likely shop a different brand to replace it. 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt Good deal. My grandfather's LG actually fell victim to a burned capacitor on the power supply board. I was ready to tear into the thing and do backlights, but luckily had the presence of mind to try to fire it up first with the back cover off. When I saw smoke (and even a little bit of fire) pouring off of that capacitor, I figured that I had a gopher.
@Browningate that was good diagnostic work! I wasn't as thorough initially. The picture went black, and from my research I assumed it was an LED backlight issue. That seems to be the most common failure point on those TVs. But after testing each LED strip it was apparent that was not the issue. Somehow, through possible heat cycles, one of the ribbon cords attached to the main board had become an issue. This is not a typical failure point, but it was the culprit in my case. Next time, if my TV fails, I'll be checking the capacitors too.
@@lilredcrvtt That's fair. I kind of figured backlights going into it as well. That seems to be where they like to cut corners on LCDs anymore, and the failure mode is almost always the same, regardless of brand, so it's a reasonable assumption to make.
What mileage did you catch this at?
@@BluedupK818 I was tipped off by a friend to check out the tensioner and belt. My car had 200,000 kilometers or approximately 125,000 miles on it. But, I'd recommend checking the belt/tensioner at each oil change just to be sure it's not falling apart like mine.
@@lilredcrvtt thank you for the replies I greatly appreciate it!!! I bought mine at 16k miles and 2 years later it’s at 60k miles. I heard to change it before 75k. Have a great day my guy. Hey does the cover come right off? I haven’t looked at it het
@BluedupK818 you're welcome, glad I could be of help. The cover is fastened by some bolts as I showed in my video. It can be removed easily, and the entire job doesn't take very long at all. It's worth checking your belt and the pulley bearing at least once a year. Mine completely fell apart. The ball bearings were all over the place, lol! But, I'm glad I caught it on the edge of total failure. Enjoy your Cadillac, cheers! 👍👍

For acceleration and consistency, yes the auto is better but for driver experience and skill, manual is the way to go.

Thank you. Chevy dealer told me that the undercoating caused the clunk in my truck. I’m out of warranty so I’ll have to replace those “ bumpers” myself.
@LarryMacDonald-iw2qj I was fortunate. The dealership warrantied my spring isolator. They are plastic and any sort of oil spray will affect and degrade them. Hopefully your repair won't be too expensive. 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt I was into the dealer in June and again in July. Undercoated at Crown Aug 1st, had the issue before and after. I argued that it was there before therefore, it can’t be the undercoating. 🥲
@LarryMacDonald-iw2qj the plastic spring isolator might be the problem. It was on my truck. They had "melted" causing the rear to clunk. The likely culprit was the oil spray I had done to my truck. The plastic and soft rubber on those trucks is very suseptible to swelling and degrading due to aftermarket oil spray products. My previous GMC Canyon had the soft rubber headlight seals swell as a result of an oil spray. For the record, GM doesn't recommend any sort of oil spray or rust proofing. Yet, because I live in an area that gets snow and uses a lot of salt or brine to coat the roads, I chose to oil my truck. There are drawbacks. Among them is the swelling of the soft rubber and "melting" of other plastics. You have to weigh the benefits against the consequences of oiling your truck. I was fortunate to have mine repaired under warranty. It must have been a "one-off" situation in my case.
I didn't even know they were available with body-matched front grilles in 2006. Clean example either way though. Those lighter color interiors usually age pretty poorly, (if the used examples available today are any indication) so this one's definitely been cared for. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
@Browningate thank you! My car was very well looked after by the previous owners. I was very pleased to have found my car, especially with the painted front grille. I cleaned the seats using saddle soap. I've found that works better than anything else that's commercially available. The seats were clean and the soap conditions the leather too. 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt Was the interior pretty icky when you started out? And, given that it's a pre-2009, do the ventilated seats still work, or did the wire connecting to the module finally burn off and need to be reattached?
@Browningate the interior was actually in decent condition. I cleaned the leather using a bar or saddle soap and a microfiber cloth for buffing the leather. I removed the lower rear seat cushion, vacuumed under it as well. Then I steam cleaned the carpets and anything else I could do without damaging any upholstery. I also uses saddle soap on the leather in the door cards. The interior turned out real well! The heated/cooled seats work perfectly too. I checked the connectors and they didn't have any issues or damage. Overall, I'm very pleased with the initial condition of the car. The care the previous owners showed it was obvious. It's been a very good car for me so far. One of my kids has their eye on it, lol! If it goes that way, at least the car will stay in the family.
beautiful car, I have the mach 1 in purple. Can you send me a link to the winglets you put on your front splitter? Cheers.
@nbakiio I don't have a direct link. I bought them from ZL1 Addons. They have a website. Just know that they didn't fit exactly and I had to modify them to fit. Also I couldn't find long enough screws, but fortunately I had a couple in my spare nut and bolt bin to work. I'm happy with the winglets, but be aware you'll need to do some fitting as I did in my video. 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt thank you for the heads up. I found your winglet video, will check it out.
@nbakiio good luck with them. ZL1 Addons customer service was not so good. I called them for assistance, but they didn't respond. Since I paid in U.S. funds to ship them to me in Canada, returning them was not a desirable option. I made them work. Maybe you might be able to find different ones that will fit better? In any case, the winglets look great on the Mach 1! 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt I am in Canada as well lol so I feel this pain of paying for shipping to send back, not worth it.
@@nbakiio between the exchange rate and shipping, it wasn't worth trying to send them back. A little fiddling around, and I got them to fit satisfactorily. They look good on the car, and the plastic looks like it could be O.E.M. Living in Canada can be a bit of a challenge when trying to buy stuff for our cars. 👍👍
Nice SS. Those were kinda rare. Am not a GM fan, but that was one of their better rides between 1973 & early 2000s. Should you ever want to sell your Mach someday, hit me up... I'm still poor but that will change next year hopefully. Cheers 🍻 grats on the sale but I bet you're a bit sad letting it go Lol
@TheKnightWolfen the SS was a really clean, low mileage car. It was very nice, but things changed and I sold it. I'm just glad that I had one for a little while to drive and enjoy. The Mach 1 is another very nice car. I haven't seem another velocity blue Mach 1 anywhere around my area. I think mine might be the only one, lol. But, unlike the SS, I don't have any plans in the near future to sell it. I've said this before, but the Mach 1 might be my long term keeper. But who knows? 👍👍
I have the same car in grabber blue with the 10r80. It has been my biggest gripe so far. I am thinking of getting a tune for it based on a lot of research. Question for you - do you have the famous engine tick, or the 10r80 whine that people have reported.
@bretthardy7565 you have a very nice car! No, my engine doesn't have the well known tick. For whatever reason, neither the 2019 GT convertible I had before or the Mach 1 have had the "tick". As to the transmission, I don't have any whine or bad shifts. I'm very happy with how my 10R80 shifts and performs. I had the 10R80 in my 2019 GT convertible, and for the most part, it performed well. My driving habits and experience with my 2019 GT convertible were a large part of why I bought my Mach 1 with the 10R80. I had a lot of manual transmission cars in the past, and for me, the 10R80 shifted quicker and better that I could with the manual. Hopefully you can get yours to perform to your satisfaction. 👍
@@lilredcrvtt you are very lucky. A bottle of ceratec solved the tick, but the whine is kinda driving me nuts. I am debating to bring it to ford, but I have a feeling they will just say it’s normal.
@bretthardy7565 I've heard about the transmission whine from others. I think it has to do with the offset transmission fluid pump. The gears inside can cause the whine. Some GM 10 speed transmissions have a similar noise. They share the basic design with the Ford 10 speed. Hopefully you can get a satisfactory answer to your concern. But, it would surprise me that they tell you it's a "normal" sound. Overall, I haven't heard a lot of bad reports about the 10 speed. I have one in my 2018 F150. The truck has well over 100,000 miles on it, and I don't have any noise or issues with it either. I did a fliud and filter service at about 75,000 miles. Maybe they helped? In any case, it's working very well too. I might just be lucky with my vehicles, lol!
Which gauge is 25 foot changing cord? 6 ,7 Or 8 AWG?You can read it in that cord.
@williamx7455 there are no markings on the 25 foot charging cable. The only information I have is for the hardwiring of the charger. The booklet recommends a 6 AWG cable. Judging by the thickness of the 25 foot cable, I would surmise that it is also a #6 cable. But I can't confirm that information.
@@lilredcrvtt t is supposed to mark in the whole cord repeatedly. For example 2×7 AWG .....1×10 AWG ...1x14 AWG...... 105”C( temperature) 600V(voltage)....... It is supposed to be at 2 7 AWG cord to carry 50AMP. I saw some cord just 2 10AWG which is very thin cord. If this one is 7 AWG or 6 AWG, I will buy this brand.
@williamx7455 the cord on my charger has no marks of any sort. That's the way I bought it. Sorry, but I can't be of more assistance on this.
Be careful to use it if the company doesn't mark it. I saw you installed outside, when charging under sunshine, monitor the cord temperature. If too hot, the cord is not thick enough. grizzl-e,made in Canada, 9 AWG cord, is not enough, But it used to be 8AWG. Save cost.
@williamx7455 the cord is very thick. I estimate it to be a #6 cable. I have built a shelter for the charger and cable. I know of others that use the same charger outdoors with no issues. I also have a breaker at the outside junction box, and another at the main panel. It's a double safety set up, and or was installed be a certified electrician. I have confidence in the charger and the installation.
I have a 2005 Cadillac DTS with that famous Northstar engine. It's one of the best cars I ever owned and I have it now for over 18 years.
@johnnyray88 the Northstar engine eventually had the head bolt issues sorted out by 2005 and later on. They are pretty reliable engines in cars like yours and mine. Some still has oil and coolant leaks, but nothing like the earlier ones. I'm counting on getting many more miles and years out of my Northstar. 👍👍
You probably will and the Northstar engine will do 300,000 with the proper care.
@user-oy7ss3gw6c agreed. I'll likely run into some oil and coolant leaks eventually. My car has approximately 125,000 miles on it. So it's a matter of time, lol. But, that's ok. It'll get fixed up when necessary. 👍👍
The oil leaks you'll be getting you will not be able to fix unless you want to spend 6 or 7,000 dollars to have that engine removed to repair the leak.
@johnnyray88 fortunately, I have access to a shop where I can remove and reseal the engine, if I need to do so. Alternatively, if for whatever reason I'm not able to do the job, I don't think the car would be worth spending that sort of money on it. Considering it has some mileage on it, and parts are getting tougher to find. I'd never get back the money I'd spend on that repair.
No question the 10 speed is faster. But its not always about speed. If you need to be the fastest, then yes get the auto. Personally, I have had the 10 speed and I couldn't do it. I felt like the car drove me vs me driving the car. I have a 22 mach 1 6 speed and I love it! Either way you go, they are both fun in their own ways. Much love
@6speedkillz821 very well stated! These are great cars in any case. Drive and enjoy your Mach 1 as much as possible. They are meant to be driven! 👍👍👍
Do you have links to the parts you replaced ?
@@1uniquez no, I don't have the links. You'd have to look up the parts for your individual machine and check for availability. It can vary from model to model.
@lilredcrvtt ok, I have the same model, did you get everything besides the back metal plate, from Amazon ? I mainly need to replace Carb, bottom Scraper, and rubber propeller fin at the moment. But may just do like you did and replace bearings and wheels also.
@1uniquez I ordered the metal back plate, rubber blades, and carburetor all off of Amazon. The wheels I bought from a local store, as I did the paint for the metal frame. The bolts and nuts are all stainless steel sourced locally too. I'm sorry but I don't have the links for the Amazon ordered items. I tried to look up my old orders, but I couldn't find them. The metal backing plate took a few weeks to arrive. It was shipped from China. All the parts I ordered worked well. I did have to adjust the governor spring as I mentioned in my video. Hope you have success sourcing the parts. These are very durable machines that you can refurbish inexpensively. 👍
Would you mind sharing the link for the mechanism on Amazon? Thanks! 😅
@dragoncelha I don't have it. You'll have to look up your individual application and see if it's available.
When did you get rid of this car?
I bought a black convertible zl1 couple years ago. Wouldnt be surprised if it was this one. Except i havent been taking care of it very well :( i sorta crashed it kinda maybe
@Invrexs I sold my car back in 2019. I had fun with it, but the supercharger still had issues. I decided to sell the car and let the next owner deal with the issues. I may still have the V.I.N.number. it was traded in St. Catharines Ontario back in May of 2019. It was a good car...but the supercharger noise was a pain.
It’s so hard to find velocity blue on the used market. Enjoy in good health!
@bwill6336 thank you very much for the kind words! I haven't seen another velocity blue Mach 1 for sale up in my area ever. I've never seen another in this color on the roads either. There must be some out there, lol. 👍👍👍
Just bought same car on Cars And Bids for my mother. Love it think I may drive or more than her
@justinpinder9751 congrats on the new car! They are very good cars! One of the nicest, smoothest cars I've ever owned. If you can, drive the one you bought your mother. You won't be disappointed. 👍👍
@lilredcrvtt I sure will same color inside and out only has 9000 miles car is like brand new. You can see it on Car and Bids just search "DTS"
Thanks to you, it looks like a got a bit of work to do!😊
@pinman1955 thank you! I had to do a bit of work getting all of the dirt out of the wheelwells. Next up, I'll remove all of the wheel liners before I have the car oil sprayed before the winter. I want to get as many areas as possible covered with oil undercoating to even further help protect the cars body. 👍👍
I have the same velo blue 2021 and love it. Thanks for sharing!
@@bris7214 I love my Mustang! The 2021 was the only year for velocity blue for the Mach 1. I bought my car as soon as I could. It's a better color than the Grabber blue of '22 and later models. 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt in the US you can’t find any velo blue ones for sale. Many wanted battleship grey and there are tons of those on the market. I got mine from a small dealership in December 2021 for MSRP and was ecstatic (and still am). Window tint and ceramic coating is all I’ve done to it. It’s not the performance version due to me knowing I’ll get me own wheels and tires and rear spoiler when I’m ready. I’ve got 4700 miles on the odometer
@@bris7214 enjoy your car! I have about 15,000 kilometers on my car (roughly 9000 miles). I drive my car as much as I can. The season is short up here in Canada, but I make the most of it! 👍👍
Trying to find a low mile handling for low $50s it can be done seem a couple go before pulling the trigger nice car 🎉
@xfrozenchillx I hope you can find the right car for you. The price you mentioned must be for a U.S. car. I'm in Canada, I've never seen an HP Mach 1 anywhere near that price point. They are well over $65K and up to almost what the sticker price was, here in Canada. These cars here haven't depreciated very much, if at all yet. I haven't seen too many HP cars or even the base models for sale. They are great cars, a lot of fun to drive! 👍👍
Can’t go wrong with either. I do feel the manual will be more collectible. I agree the automatic is faster and easier for a daily driver. I own an automatic S197 and a manual S550. My favorite Mustang has to be the Mach 1. If one presents itself at the right price maybe one day.
@sportsterrider2087 the Mach 1 is a great car with either transmission. If you can find the right car, don't pass up getting one. I'm not concerned about collectabilty, they will be worth whatever in the future. For me, the daily drivability is more important. 👍👍
Nice lookin car
@user-fm1cg5nq7z thank you! I really like the white diamond paint with chrome rims. 👍👍
I have to do the same thing with my 06, getting nervous now. I’ve been looking for LED’s but couldn’t find them anywhere,
@user-fm1cg5nq7z it is a bit of a job...the first time you do it. Now after having done the headlights, I likely could do it much quicker and be a lot less frustrated, lol! I ordered my D1S LED headlights off of Amazon. There are a few to choose from and they aren't really that expensive. Since all I did was replace the original HID light bulbs with the new LED bulbs, as I showed in the video, it was a "plug and play" type of install. The new LED bulbs are much brighter, with a nice clean light output as compared to the originals. I hope you have no problems and have a successful headlight bulb upgrade too! 👍👍
@@lilredcrvtt thanks for the pep talk, I will be attempting the project knowing what I’m getting into. My DTS was purchased off the showroom floor by my uncle who sold to my dad, who until 2017 was driving it till he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at which time I purchased from my siblings from his estate, my dad was not big on preventative maintenance so I kinda bought a hand full of minor headaches, it seemed every time I fixed or repaired one thing another issue would pop up, I love the car and it was my dads so I will continue to do whatever is necessary to keep it nice, it hasn’t seen a winter or salt since 2017 and I only drive it for about 6 months out of the year, it is in almost mint condition, so with your boost of confidence and your video and others I will continue to keep her keepin on, thanks for the reply.
@@KevinPieschek best of luck keeping your DTS maintained. They are great cars! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. If I can help a fellow Cadillac owner keep their car in top shape, I will do my best, cheers! 👍👍👍
Doing mines as well on my Dts order all 4 lights
@lario1030 the upgrade to the LED lights is definitely worth the hassle of doing them. Mine have performed flawlessly since I installed them. It was a bit of work pulling apart the front of the car, but I'm glad I did it. 👍👍
Is this a self propelled model?
@marekzamora in a way, it is. You must slightly lift the handle and the back end. Then the rubber paddles will pull the machine forward. It is dependent on how much you lift the handle.
Love that beast what was that worth in 2021 if you don't mind me asking please PS man that's one sharp car
@canamdennis6829 thank you very much! It's an amazingly good car! I bought my car right off of the showroom floor with 9.1 kms on the odometer, for around $75K Canadian dollars back in December of 2021. That was the sticker price, no dealership mark up. Plus the obligatory 13% tax. That was a good chunk of cash, but well worth it. 👍👍
Having supercharged another one of my cars years ago, I regret it (there's always little problems/issues/etc), I don't see myself doing forced induction on my Mach 1.
@rev68 you make a very good point. The Mach 1 is really good as it is...but some days I throw the idea of superchargering it around. I'll likely never do it though. As you say, it can cause problems, and it's expensive to do. 👍👍
