Followed your video while replacing this morning and it was spot on for each step - and it fixed my issue with slow water flow. Great work on the camera angles to see exactly what was done. Thank you so much for the video and gave it a Like.
For other newbies like me if this helps:
I saw a dramatic drop in water flow immediately after I changed the old filter (changed on time) to the new one as I've been doing with this refrigerator for about 7 years. I put the old filter back and still same low flow. I tried the removing filter and normal (strong) flow resumed. I assumed it was the "water inlet valve", bought and replaced it but that didn't fix the issue. It seemed to give some more flow but barely and then back to drips, so I had a good hunch it was the water filter head and/or housing, primarily. I just decided to replace the whole housing but probably could've just replaced the water filter head. After 7 years, I figured new hoses and the possibility it could be something else other than just the filter head was worth it. Anyways, changing the whole housing fixed the issue for me. This video allowed me to do it confidently, with step by step, detailed narration, and production.
    As a side note:
I used to use the original Samsung filters but decided to pay less and go for the Amazon ones. They have been fine for a few years now but I read somewhere that the non-original ones can damage the unit. Unsure if this is true or not but I think I will go back to the original filters in case this is indeed what happened to my filter head. After the install today, I used an original Samsung filter and everything back to normal.
Lastly, I noticed that the new housing unit I ordered (may not be your case) included a small hose connector that is specific to the thinner white tube than the original fatter white tube that comes out of the ;lsdk
    Thanks again!

My wife and I have been fighting a water filter issue where the water line begins "hammering" after a few days even though the filter is securely placed into the housing and it was prefilled with water. It happens with multiple different filter brands. After a lot of searching, we (just this morning) came to the conclusion that the filter housing needs to be replaced. I can't express how timely this replacement video is and how professional and "easy" you make the replacement look. Thanks so much!

I’m having this SAME issue. Did you end up replacing your filter housing? If so, did it fix it?

@@chadalac2628 Instead of replacing it with a new filter housing (which was expensive) and then having to continue replacing the filters (also expensive) we opted to bypass the filter completely and install an in-line water filter directly to the fridge. They last for ~10 years (so it claims) and are only like 30-50 bucks.

@@MasonMcCanless oh awesome. Are you still finding that it was a better option?

    • @MasonMcCanless

@@chadalac2628 Absolutely. It was pretty easy to install the in-line filter and now we can just forget about it for a long time. The water tastes the exact same as it did when we were using the Samsung filter system. The only small negative is that we had to mount it on the back of the fridge which makes our fridge stick out about 4 more inches from the wall than it did before.

Great video. My issue is I just need to replace the casing. I’m hoping not to have to go through all of those steps as I don’t think I need to remove it. Hoping to open it and pull it to the side and take the innards out and put them in the new casing. Hope to get to it this weekend. I’ll use this video as reference if I have to ‘go deep.’

Where is the water pooling at? What is the model number of your fridge?

@@appliancepartspros RS25H5111, and it's pooling at the very bottom of the refrigerator side. It appears to be coming out of the filter housing.
