What causes the smell in the water filter housing assembly? I took out the water filter and the housing assembly still stinks. Thanks.

Can the part being discussed in this video be damaged by trying to melt a clog with a hair dryer ?
Yes that is possible.
Need help quick, how do you remove the water hose and filter hose from inlet valve?
I think it's difficult to find the exact replacement part to do that so I was thinking about joining the two water lines together and bypassing the filter element Will that work?
Would this part be a likely cause of water buildup in/under the bottom pantry drawer? Or would the blue water valve in this video that this part attaches to be a likely cause?
If one of those parts leaks water into the unit, that could be the issue. But, if you find water under the pantry drawer you most likely have a clogged drain tube. That is located under the evaporator coils, if it's frozen up or has debris clogging it then it could cause your issue.
Would this fix my issue, when I have the water filter installed I don’t get water or ice (in the upper ice maker). When the water filter is not installed I get water but still no ice.
If you have water with the filter removed, that would indicate a bad filter. If you are having the same issue with a brand new filter then you will need to replace the filter housing.
What if my waterline broke going in to the fridge and I just need to replace the line? Can I just use a connector? Or do I have to replace the whole line?
It is going to depend on where it is broken?
@@appliancepartspros it’s broken about halfway through the line. There’s probably a good 2 feet on each side after the break. It’s not broken near or inside the fridge.

If you think you can use a connector then you can try it. There is a universal connector you can try if you want, but I can't promise that it will work. The part number you would be looking for is AP5795479. Below is the link to that part so you can look at it.

There is a spout inside the ring for the receiver. I think it should be centered. It is not. How can i make it centered?

Our 10 y old RF323TEDBSR Samsung refrigerator started leaking from under the filter assembly, I am watching this tutorial and it looks exactly like my fridge, but I think you posted a different model number.
Anyways, I typed my model RF323TEDBSR at your web store and unless I add RF323TEDBSR/AA-0001
I was looking and it does appear that part number AP5623837 will work for your model number.

Water leaks from my water filter receptacle. This occurs with various filters, including Samsung branded ones. Is there a simpler repair than removing and replacing the entire housing?
How did you finally fix the problem?
@@scottbrown8996 I haven’t really. I now keep a plastic container in the produce bin and the leaking water fills it up. Very disappointed in Samsung. They wasted quite a bit of my time then did nothing to help me fix their design problem.
