Very straightforward video. Much appreciated! I used this guide for my Samsung RF23J9011SR/AA model refrigerator. The part number for the filter housing was DA97-15417B but the process was practically identical. The only differences were that a) my unit has no lower freezer compartment ice maker (has only the upper ice maker/dispenser); and b) disconnecting the blue water line did not require removing the small trim pieces (at 3:50) around the door hooks.
Great instructions! The only problem I had was removing the right crisper drawer because the door only opened at a 90 degree angle. I removed the bottom door storage tray, but still didn’t have enough clearance from the door edge. I finally discovered that by lifting the door slightly, it allowed the door to swing out more giving me adequate room to remove the right crisper drawer.
Thank you for a great video! It really helped me with the replacement job and saved some serious $$$ In my case the little valve that goes to water filter stopped working. In fact I didn't even needed the whole assembly to be replaced. The problem was a small o-ring that got out of place. In order to get to it, the whole unit had to be removed and disassembled. Good to have my water running properly again! Thank you!
Hi thank you for the video! There is water in the tank but blue line isn’t getting water the water doesn’t dispense. Water line is not frozen I checked. Is there way to get rid of Samsung water house unit and connect the water line to top of the fridge? I just can’t afford buying a new housing unit. When I dispense water is it connect to the housing unit?
Great video. One question is with the new water assembly housing it only has two electric cords to plug in (instead of three) as you showed. We saw you plugged both right next to each other but what happens if you plug the smaller cord on the other side. It doesn't look like our new assembly cord is long enough to plug in side by side . Thanks!
What is the model number of your fridge? Our videos are just to help give you a general idea on how to do the repair. It may not look exactly like your model.
If there isn't any water coming through the grey line to the ice maker are there any other troubleshooting steps that need to be checked before replacing the assembly?
You will need to cycle the ice maker and test for power at the water valve. If you have power there and no water comes in then you will need to replace the water valve. If you do not have power there or if the ice maker doesn't cycle then you will need to replace the ice maker.
One clip broke on the right and the shelf won't separate from the filter housing. Now what? I need to remove the back panel because the fan is rubbing on ice and I want to melt it fast with a hair dryer. Thanks!
Great video, as an Appliance Technician for 27 years your vids have saved me from looking like an idiot in front of customers. 👍🏻
