Thanks so much for the helpful video, took about 30min to replace. I had a similar issue with the head/housing after replacing only 3 or 4 water filters. The foam/tape attached to the hoses was a bit of a mess so I used new foam I luckily had laying around. While at the back of the fridge, cleaned off the condenser coils (lots of dog hair; vacuuming the back exterior of the fridge was not enough). I wish the head assembly had detachable hoses just like the back of the fridge, though. A better design would have saved people some effort.
We almost had ours replaced recently because a new filter wouldn’t screw in, thankfully found dozens of videos showing how to rotate the inner part to line back up with the filter. If you have the problem check that out before replacing the assembly.
not sure if you monitor this site, but what model of LG is this? I have an LG and need to replace the water head filter attachment, my model is LFXS26973S /01 . Apparently, the 01 is important.
Because LG makes faulty products, mine too it's a common design flaw along with the clips that hold on the air filter cover. They won't stand behind their products either so don't waste your time talking to their customer service team.
Yep....failed compressor ($1200) now water housing ($40 - Thank you for this video!) Have LG stove....issues....LG dishwasher already replaced. Only LG microwave works - knock on wood
Birchwood1950, LG should put a better water filter head assembly on their refrigerator’s . They are too easy to break and should use a sturdier material. LG is known for quality and it’s a shame they use an inferior part.

I have used LG original filter for this model. I have also used a cheaper one from Amazon 'GLACIER FRESH LT1000PC Replacement Water Filter'

The filter head is what I replaced :) . It comes attached with the water pipe, no need to separate them while installing.
