Tesla Model X - Watch This Before You Buy It! Is It Worth It?

- Tesla just reduced the price of the Tesla Model X significantly, and it has a lot of people asking themselves if they should pull the trigger. This most recent price reduction means that the Model X now qualifies for the EV Tax Credit of up to $7,500.
Tesla lowered the price of the Long Range Model X to $79,990, making it $10 under the cap for the EV tax credit of up to $7,500. In addition, Tesla also made all paint colors included in the price. So, as long as you order the basic configuration, with any paint color, you will be purchasing a car that is eligible for the full tax credit.
This effectively makes the Model X $72,490 after tax credit. At this significantly lower price than previously possible, there are a lot of things to consider. First, the car can only be ordered in the 5 seat configuration. You cannot order the Model X in 6 or 7 seat configuration, nor can you retrofit a third row in a Model X. So make sure you can get by with the standard 5 seat setup.
The next thing you are probably thinking about is if it is worth upgrading from the Model Y to the Model X. The Model X is faster, tows more, has more storage, has more space for passengers, charges faster, has a bigger screen, almost twice as many speakers, second screen in the back for streaming while driving, air suspension, cooled front seats, and on and on. The list of added features and capabilities is long. The price difference between the Model Y and Model X is now down to $29,500 when comparing the Model Y LR AWD.
Those added features are really nice, but they also come with some baggage. For instance, the Falcon Wing Doors on the rear of the Model X are iconic, and complicated. These doors use to be the weak point in the Model X and plagued with issues. Although they are better today than they used to be, they are still a complicated door and are prone to issues.
Like all other HW4 vehicles, some of the driver assistance features are not active. Further, the removal of a number of ultrasonic sensors has made other features of the Model X not properly function, including the automatic doors on the front of the car. The front 2 doors cannot open all the way automatically because the vision only system cannot determine how far away obstacles are yet. This means there is a lot of resistance when opening the doors.
Other features not working properly are the inability to toggle information on the heads up display in front of the steering wheel. You also cannot see much of the efficiency data that is easily displayed on the Model Y and Model 3. Another thing that is an issue is that you cannot split music and streaming. So you can either listen to a movie on the back screen or the radio, but not both.
In the end, it's a bigger, more comfortable, faster, better charging smoother riding SUV. It does come at a larger price tag, and will come with more issues in reliability, but can offer an amazing driving experience. It will be hard to overcome the value and reliability of the Model Y, so if you can afford it, it may be worth seriously considering to enjoy the various features exclusive to the Model X.

It’s important to note that if you own a business model X does qualify for section 179, and bonus depreciation as well. Also under the EV tax credit rules for businesses, there is no cap on how much the vehicle cost, so you could load up a model X, title it under your business and get the full $7500 credit.😊
Smart
Glad I was not the only one thinking that. I kept wondering if I was delusional in my interpretation of the rules and why I should get the plaid.
This isn’t true. If your

People fail to note that your vehicle must be used 50% for business. Make sure you have good record keeping in case you get audited.
indeed
What do you mean? Doesn’t work count as business?
This video was so needed on TH-cam and was done excellently. Part two can be is waiting for the refreshed Model Y a better choice than an existing Model Y or the reduced price Model X. Keep up the good work.
Glad it was helpful!
Model Y isn’t going to be refreshed until at least late 2024 unfortunately.
Yes, same question!
this is so informative! thank you!
Hey dude 10:29 I really appreciate your honesty in your video. There is a lot of Tesla TH-cam that aren’t. I just sub to your channel and looking forward to your videos
Yea man, appreciate it. Don’t know why it’s so controversial to say something critical but also love the brand at the same time. Both can be true
Bought the Model X for all the reasons mentioned…..coming mid Nov/Dec. Biggest reason…I transferred my FREE SUPERCHARGING from my 2016 Model S to the new vehicle. Bought the base model, $7500 which is great. I nave a Model 3 performance, and felt the Model Y was too similar. So replaced the S with the X. Very happy with the decision. BTW…Great video!
I was really excited about the Model X Plaid with all the extras which is still lower than the price you posted. Now, after watching your video (especially the depreciation chart) I think I will hold off until next year to see if those software issue get resolved first.
Excellent breakdown as always BTG! We’ve been considering upgrading from MY to X with the recent price changes, video really helped.
Glad to help!
So what was your decision? Are you going to get the X? I have the Y and I’m not sure if I want to deal with the troubles of the X.
@@user-bj7nb3io7g we decided to keep the Y
Same here
Excellent, informative video, thanks! Swapped our Model Y for an Ultra Red X. Got a $1000 referral discount, $7500 Federal, $5000 Colorado, bringing price down (before destination fee and taxes) to $66,490! Another difference I noted from our Model Y is the seat is 3/4" wider between the bolsters - just enough to make them much more comfortable for me.
Very nice, congrats!
How are trade in prices for Model Y?
You mean royalty bonus. What year/miles is your Model Y? Do you find X's speakers much better?
@@DigantGoyal Tesla offered 1K more than Carvana, but final amount is "Pending" after sending in photos.
@@Trust_but_Verify Actually, I meant referral discount as I posted, not a loyalty bonus. I didn't realize the referral discount fine print says for first time buyers. The manager at my local dealership helped me complete the purchase in the app. I gave him the referral link I got from a friend, and he plugged it in, and it took $1000 off my purchase price. He never said anything about first time buyer only. Perhaps Tesla will audit this and remove the credit - hope not.
Traded in 2023 Y with 9k. Didn't play with speakers much, so not able to provide a good comparison between the Y and X. My Y sounded fantastic, and I expect the X to be even better.
Incredibly informative, super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Extremely helpful! thanks so much for the detailed graphics and explanations. Great resource.
welcome!
Dang BTG, the video was good and straight forward about the X, hoping that the Model X in Ultra Red that I ordered doesn’t give me too many issues. On our Model 3 Performance I have had to schedule multiple B Pillar trim appointments, and they exchanged the Rear taillights on a few occasions as well. Ordered the 5 seat version since I don’t need anything other than that, basically it was a choice to buy the X or go back to Petrol with a BMW X5. Need to come visit you and do the PPF with you on the Ultra Red. 😊
Ultra red is 🔥
Excellent and thoughtful video! I always appreciate your objective analysis. We did an overnight demo with a Model X this weekend. Wow! The ride is SO smooth and quiet! Very seriously considering pulling the trigger. I can’t imagine it getting much cheaper.
Yea, it’s crazy good price
How do you get an overnight demo? I would like to try that as well!
Nice info thanks. I just ordered the model X plaid black on black like yours. I know it had these issues didn’t know about a couple of things you mentioned. Was very helpful. Im still getting it cause im a tech guy and I like how it looks and that its fast like a sports car. Wanna try it see how it goes. Thanks for your awesome video.
Fastest SUV in the world, how could you possibly go wrong?
I am scheduled to receive my Rivian R1S on Sept. 11th. Now that the Model X is cheaper than my Rivian, I am thinking of selling the Rivian and purchasing the Model X. Doing so will earn me $3,750 and $7,500 in EV tax credits, plus the profit earned from the Rivian sale. I could use the six-seat config, but I can work with a 5-seat config. Definitely choosing Ultra Red!
Rivian should make you a few bucks
Thank you for this valuable info, Mr Bearded Tesla Guy!
My pleasure!
I have loved my '21 Model Y and so with this price change we put an order for my wife to get the Model X. Like most I wish I could do options (specifically 6 seats to make life with kids easier). I was tempted to wait for point of sale tax credit but as you noted the demand is skyrocketing and I wonder if they will keep the price point here - with Tesla you never know. I usually watch your videos on apple TV so there is no buttons (subscribe/like/etc.) but I logged in to my computer just to subscribe here. Love you videos, like others noted you offer a great perspective and point of view not seen from most other content providers here. Thanks!
Appreciate it, and thanks for joining the channel! Glad to have you! NOW GO ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF THAT THING!
Damn…
Awesome video. Just a brought a model X long rang August 23, 2023 and I would’ve definitely waited two weeks for the price cut. - I love my model X but- given the opportunity I would’ve loved to have the plaid version of this vehicle.
Awesome video once again… New subscriber gained ✊🏽.
Much love from New York City
Cheers!
Everything I needed to know. Thank you for this video!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video. Thanks! Saved me from an unnecessary upgrade from M3 to MX. :)
Always appreciate the honest and thoughtful insight ... You're 🔥🔥as always..... Have a question about the perforated seats and applying a ceramic coat - Is it safe to apply like in your Model Y ?? Did you apply it in your X? Will it interfere with the air filtration ? Thank you SO much!
Yes and yes
Very timely topic. Thanks!
My pleasure!
The sound of the Secadas in the background ❤. I'm in line for the CT but love the X.
its hard to time filming outside when its not too hot but the bugs are also still quiet.
I just ordered one yesterday after the price cut! Did the test drive and fell in love
Very nice!
Any suggestions if I choose Model X for Uber black ? And I’m a student please help me by gov if a good suggestion…. On will I be able to pay monthly installment doing only Uber Black every day 6-8 hours working ?
Great video I've been on the fence about the upgrade got a Model Y a few years back close to that price it might be worth the upgrade at this point. But didn't think about the insurance piece. Great coverage
cheers
Does yours have the upgraded rims?
Can you installed the yolk steering wheel aftermarket?
Very well explained
Thank you

I never considered purchasing the Model X until I did an overnight test drive with it. Definitely getting one.
Got my X one month before the price reduction, but it was an inventory car plus the FSD transfer so I paid a little more than I could have. Still not upset.
Thank you for candid and honest review. It is very informative analysis.
Glad it was helpful!
Love how detailed the video was! I am considering a model X base in Ultra red but also want to wait and see regarding the cybertruck so I’m on the fence 😢
Yea, once the Cybertruck starts shipping we should get a much better feel for how long it’ll take to get one
You may have known that Tesla has had 1.9M preorders on the cyber truck.
@BTG - what do you think of a used Model X right now? I'm thinking the first owner would absorb fixing all the "bugs" and with the depreciation you're talking about, is that a good option?
(I am not eligible for the tax credit because of income so it's that's not a factor)
Used is fine, just keep an eye on values as they are sure to drop
Great review. Opened up my eyes 🎉 thanks a bunch
Has there been any recent update on the parking assist or early collision warning system? I test drove on and was not good… thanks for the video
nope, still about the same...
Pulled the trigger Friday on a model S. Trading in my 2021 model Y. The ride, feel, upgraded interior and additional range coupled with the new discount made it too good to pass up.
It’s a lot of car for the money!
What was the trade-in value of your 2021 Model Y?
I haven’t received a trade in yet but I’m expecting somewhere around 34k. @@adebiyiadesanya482
I ordered one! You almost talked me out of it with the initial quality issues, but I’m hoping they have a few of those bugs worked out. It’s just too much car for the money to pass up. S/X have never been a $90-100 K vehicle, but people were willing to pay it. I always thought they were more in the $75-85 but I didn’t think they would get the X under the $80 k tax cap. Now that they have I’m in. Ordered Red / 5 seater so I get the credit! I tried the Ford MME and it’s not a bad first swing from Ford, but it’s not a Tesla. Can’t wait! Great takes on this video! You nailed it IMO. Thanks
Its a lot of EV SUV for the money no doubt
I own a 2022 MX with FSD.
They average 2.6 miles per KW even though there is 100kw capacity, you can ONLY get 265 miles.
The FSD is suicide. It wants to take a Left U Turn lane at 77mph and once it's in that lane, there is no runway to slow down.
Auto Steer is all I use
Hi just wanted to say thanks. I bought my x in March and have been struggling with all the price cuts. Your video gave me some piece of mind. I am an avid fan of your videos and watch almost all of the! By the way I owned an early MYlr that had a lot of issues hence the move to the model x . Interesting last week I had the same issue as you with the falcon wing doors not opening. It was scary having people trapped inside. Not a good selling point for the friends I was introducing to tesla. They were not happy and after the dinging and the doors not opening their comments were call us when you get a car that is not a death trap. Lol I still love the x even though I had it in the SC for non moving middle seats falcon doors squeaking and minor issues. Keep up the good work .
Cheers
Wow great video ! On my 3rd Y I love it. This is what discouraged me buying a X. These stories are all true from talking with X owners and Tesla service representatives it’s a pain owning a X. You hit the nail on the head with this video. Great 👍🏼 editing. I was wondering are you going drop the X soon ?
Also, you seem very happy 😃 with your Y and 3. I been following you from day 1. Thank you!!
I bet the X goes when his cyber truck comes in
I don’t think I’ll drop the X yet. Such a fun car. If I had do chose between this and the Y, I’d get rid of this first
Went with the Tesla model x plaid and got the red color. It’s estimated for a nov-dec delivery! I can’t wait. Thanks for the video, it was eye opening and super informative!
Hope you enjoy it!
Can you fold down the rear seats? I've used my Model Y for camping but it's a little tight. I'm considering a Model X and want to know if it would be more practical for sleeping in the back.
If I get one it'll be blue. I like the red, but I'm just not a red car person. My Y is blue.
if you get the 5 passenger or 7 passenger, you can fold everything flat. The 6 passenger does not allow you to fold down the second row unfortunately
Great vid, deposit down today on a red Tesla model X plaid. The price point is just perfect and the little extra is not a big deal. Can’t wait to get my red plaid with white interior in around a month. 🎉
Fastest SUV in the world!
Great video. You helped me overthink my situation. Have a 2018 MX 100D running out of 5 year lease soon and it still works perfectly fine. Knock on wood. But I have to pay 40% on the new base price to buy it out of the lease. That’s why I was thinking about if a new MX will be the better option, as there is 5 years of improvements in it and a fresh warranty. Should I keep my 2018 or buy a new one? Hmmmm
To me it would be a no brainer, but I also dont know your entire situation. From what I can assume, you wont have an issue with the cost, so why not just go new rather than buying out a hugely depreciated 2018?
Thank you very much for the thorough run through!! I will be waiting for the Y refresh. I really think they will bring the grey and the crimson colors with that and with the changes that we have seen on the 3, it will be a no brainer and savings of $25-30K. I will say, if you need a bigger SUV, the X qualifying for the $7500 (awesome news on that POS discount on 1/1/2024) and the Section 179 Deduction makes that model a no brainer!! Either way you choose, this video gave me all the info I needed to decide!
Yea, if the Y works, its the best all around Tesla in my opinion
Great info.
Limited to Black interior.
Can't do in FL.
Is the seat ventilation effective??
Does it really cool the seats?
The old ventilation was worthless.
Help.
I have 2023 S with black interior. Cooled seat works . Got ceramic tint all round too
Yes vented seats work great
I own a Model X 2022 and love it to pieces. I have had zero issues with it.
It’s a hard car not to love. It has quirks but it’s so great in many ways
Love the video. We pulled the trigger after the price drop and can’t wait for our Ultra Red Plaid-insane deal on a super car!!!
Insane deal for this kind of performance
Your video convinced me to hold off buying. I had a 2022 model X plaid that I sold to a friend earlier this year. I forgot about all the little issues. The software being outdated. The service issues. I’m glad you called everything out.
You know you can get a discounted model ordered directly from tesla with less than 4k down payment and a total no more than 20 grand with a ref code.

Excellent video. Thx

Great content on MX, I own a 2017. Model Y is to firm. If possible purchase an X .
Great review. I wish you had spent some time talking about the difference between the sound system in the Model Y and Model X.
Y vs X videos are coming, I promise!
Have you been able to identify the scenario that causes the falcon door opening issue? I want to order one but this has me concerned as my wife has little patience when it comes to things like this (she freaks out when tpms sensor goes off) We have M3P and MYLR the M3P has had a ton of issues that have been frustrating to deal with but they have always been taken care of so my confidence is high with Tesla getting repair work done.
No, it was while the car was parked in the driveway so there were no obstructions at all.
Awesome Video. Thanks 👍🏽
Thanks for watching!
2024 model x or 2024 model 3 performance. Family of 4. Kids 7 and 2 years. Road trips would be 1.5-3 hrs from home so nothing crazy. On test drive I did take 2 large bags and a cabin bag that fit in trunk of model 3 highland. Had tried and reserved model x 7-seater but I was fence and changed it to newly announced model 3 performance. Do I need the cabin space and spend more or just get a smaller vehicle….I am on the fence and have both reservations but need to pick one….looking for comfort and value
WOOWWW, thanks man, did not think about insurance, they are double a Y.... I did not think that much. I will wait for Model Y refresh!! However, this is soooo tempting!
It’s such a good price
Brilliant financial analysis! Thank you!!
Glad you liked it!
Great video. We are considering upgrading to the model X. a couple of questions: how well does noise cancellation work and might tesla be considering a model X refresh in the next year or so? cheers!
Noise cancellation works really well. It does have a bug though where it will randomly start up when you aren’t moving and it’s loud
Why is it I've not had none of issues you have experienced. The market for accessories is growing as more people buy the X, particularly with these new offers. You mentioned insurance is twice as much, well that's incorrect, my insurance actually is less than my 2019 model X performance. Go figure..my 2023 loaded X (if you will) has been flawless. Are your statistics based on hundreds of miles driven by other Tesla X's?
deal may be off… Because Tesla will not transfer FSD from my model Y to the model X I want to buy. They avoided telling me for over a day, and I got a major run around. They seem to be insisting that you take DELIVERY before October… But Tesla determines the delivery date and now says they won’t deliver before then… Despite what the website said. This is a major conflict of interest, as Tesla has a $12K incentive to delay everybody’s order. LAME!
Thank you so much for this video. Seems like the cons don't outweigh the positives if i wanted to buy any model of the X. I'm gonna pass here. Probably look at the Y since it's the best overall model. Weeks to months is ridiculous for service issues. No thank you. X is too limited. If I'm paying that much i want convenience. Thanks so much for a great video.
Justin, Once Again you Nail It!!! I Enjoy watching Your videos However is Very Sad that People Disregard All available Information and Common Sense regarding Important Staff....!😮😢😊Enjoy jour Tesla! I can't afford 1 yet.
lol, well Jeebs is Ben, I am Justin 🤣
@beardedteslaguy, excellent video with data to back up your conclusion. I own model y and 2018 model x. I also never had any issues with falcon doors or anything other issues that most people have faced. However, one common issue that has lost its momentum is early rear tire wear due to in adjustable camber arms. I think you should also link the video from N2itive where early rear tire wear model x is still a fundamental design flow in the newest model. This is an ownership issue which does have a $1600 fix by installing adjustable camber arms but would make your video really complete on model x disadvantage list you made.
Does tire rotation help? So X tires only last 30k miles?
Hmm. Haven’t heard of this
Or search for model x shudder/vibration issue on Google
@@Trust_but_Verifywith tire sizes for front and back are different, rotation is not an option.

nope, you are no longer eligible. That $2,000 actually cost you $2,000 + loss of $7,500 credit = $9,500. Sure you want cream interior for $9,500?
My first Tesla was a 2017 model X "exciting" ownership experience, wonderful on road trips or every day driver. I' recently ordered a new "Ultra red" model X I did not have any plans to upgrade however, the new pricing, tax credit and Business tax deduction, makes a refresh a no-brainer!
Its a hell of a car
Another excellent, timely, presentation. How is the Clermont facility coming along? I live in the Villages and that will be the best location for me.
It's coming along nicely. The front facade is not done yet but the red strip along the top of the building is there now.

(Not mentioned however was that the $7500 is (reportedly?) not guaranteed after the end of this year (just when the point of sale tax credit would be coming into play 😮💨)...)
The only cars that are at risk at losing some of the credit are the LFP cars, the model 3 RWD and LR. Model X will still be qualified
So why does site say, “Model X Dual Motor vehicles qualify for a federal tax credit for eligible buyers. Reductions likely after Dec 31” on the X page?
@@jamesbuchanan3439 unfortunately its not consistent across the site. On the landing page this is what it says: Customers who take delivery of a qualified new Tesla and meet all federal requirements are eligible for a tax credit up to $7,500. Reductions to current federal tax credit likely after Dec 31.
On the Model Y page this is what it says: All new Model 3 and Model Y purchases qualify for a $7,500 federal tax credit for eligible buyers. Additional state incentives may be available.
Previously, when there was first mention of the "reduction likely" it said plainly it was the Model 3. Now it doesn't seem to be specific to any one model, at least consistently.
The batteries for the Model X are made in Nevada, as are the Model Y batteries (except 4680 which are made in Texas and California). LFP are shipped over from China.
@@BeardedTeslaGuy Last I heard, the batteries for X and S are made in Japan

I ordered the model X in gray, but after this video im considering waiting until next year to get the credit at the point of sale. As long as the price doesn't increase.
How likely is Tesla to keep the same pricing next year to leverage the additional 7500 rebate at the point of sale? It almost makes any current orders of model X to be cancelled and wait it out until next year. @BeardedTeslaGuy What do you see on the pricing for Model X and trying to keep the EV rebates.
Just ordered my new model X . Watching all modelx videos on reviews. Some get me 😊 some make worry 😟 .
Thank you for this !!! Definitely tempted to get the X due to the price.
Glad I could help!
Qq, is the credit applied before or after tax? If we are going to, but it this year, to what i understand, the tax credit we will claim next year will be after tax. However, if we decide to purchase next year, the price will be deducted before tax. Am i understanding correctly?
Yes, at time of filing your taxes for this year, at time of purchase starting next year
Last week’s MX price cut got me to upgrade from our MY w/ FSD. HOWEVER, my Telsa rep, (Pablo), confirmed, no FSD transfer! THEY WONT DELIVER ANY MXs ORDERED NOW BEFORE OCTOBER!!! it’s worth $12K, and Tesla doesn’t want to tell you! I got the runaround to several people/departments. Even the website said I could maybe get it in September, thus qualifying for the FSD transfer under Tesla’s rules. This just seems unethical and deceitful, no? The price cuts have been in effect less than 3 business days. I love Tesla, but this is just wrong, they should honor the date the order is placed NOT THE DELIVERY DATE DETERMINED BY TESLA FOR $12K
Saw your comment on another video, they sold out all of the quarters production and since there is a deadline, I guess it is what it is.
About to placing an order for Model X, stopped watching this video. I need a 7 seater Model X and that doesn't qualify for Tax credit. Does anyone know if there is way for getting Tax credit buying 7 Seater Model X (new/used) ?
Thanks, you helped me decide. Model Y it is. It caught my attention that there are still issues to resolve and don’t have time to be dealing with “ little surprises and dysfunctions”
cheers
Nice video agree also old battery tech. I will wait for CT.
18650 was refreshed in 2020 so not terribly old
Great video with solid and comprehensive considerations. I demo drove on and it was great, but 30k is almost another car worth of money I’m not at that level of comfortable.
yea, even with these awesome new prices, its still a significant chunk of change.
***** for sure. great information, analysis and feedback. Glad that I saw this which completely changes my decision for Model X. Thank you!!!
glad this was helpful!
Awesome review. The X is now in my consideration set (in red of course) , as well as a loaded Cadillac Sport 3 Lyric ( know, smaller car, but I fell in love with it on a test drive). Although the X is a nice-looking car, it looks a lot like the Y which you see everywhere in California. so that is a negative to me. Also, the design (back especially) needs a refresh. But overall, it is a great value since the price drop.
A lot of car for that money.
Currently own a 2021 Model Y with over 40k trouble free miles.
Yes, I was very tempted to move up to an X with the new price cut. I just can’t get past those ultra complex falcon doors. If it had normal doors I would probably order an X in Ultra Red. I predict another price cut on the S Nd X around the slow sales months, December and January.
Not unreasonable decision
I'm holding out for the upcoming drive by wire version before getting my next X.
Can’t wait to see that roll out to other vehicles
Wow... Great video
Thank you! Cheers!
After nearly a year with my Oct 2022 Model X that I ordered at 2021 prices ( $89K base) my biggest complaints are mainly with the general build quality such as miscellaneous squeaks and rattles as well as the ever present glitchiness with the falcon wing doors. Unlike yours mine still has HW3 along with the precious parking sensors, but it sure would be nice to have an update to the UI. Do I love the car? Mostly yes. Would I buy it again knowing what I do now? Probably not.
First time EV here got Lucid Air and R1S, 1.5 years and 7 months ownership, not a rattle; however, info tech isn’t as great as Tesla, but slowly improving. Falcon wing door is always my desire when I was shopping around but didn’t pull the trigger, but now the price is very seductive.
Not a bad assessment.
很喜欢,视频做的很专业。
This I just took delivery of MYP in July this year I do not regret it but man if this was available at the same time, I might have taken the X….in hindsight I still pretty happy with MYP…Thanks for the video!
Model Y is bulletproof and the best all around option
How many mpg s 🤔
I rarely comment but thanks for providing an honest assessment. I took delivery of a MYP a week ago coming from an MDX. Yes, I miss the extra space, electronic suspension and ventilated seats but it's forced me to downsize and only have the essential items I need for a vehicle. I really was ogling the X but I can say I'm satisfied with my choice, even with the recent price cuts.
You know you can get a discounted model ordered directly from tesla with less than 4k down payment and a total no more than 20 grand with a ref code.
Model Y is the best all around Tesla today
Great video! I’m so underwater with my model 3 and Y I bought at the peak in 2022 that I won’t be able to take advantage of any of these great prices.😢
I am right there with you :(
Sucks
I own a model Y and go back and forth about upgrading to the model X almost daily I originally wanted the model X but didn't want to spend $100K it for $80K I think it's a great deal...
I am interested for a video of evert pros and cons on the x from your experience
Coming
The residual value comparison alone is about 6800 USD in favor of the Rav4.
I ordered but going 7 seater. What do you think of white interior with 3 kids under 4. We love the white but scared they will be damaged
Oh they will make a mess alright, but the seats clean easily.
I did! Ordered a Model X LR in Ultra Red! 5+ year Model 3 owner here, a 2018 LR RWD and 2019 Stealth Performance (still own for now). Was never a huge X fan, but also had never driven one either....After my test drive I was in love! Awesome air suspension, loved all the recently refreshed features, tilt screen, round wheel, no stalks, HW4, 22 speakers, etc. :P
Don't forget about the Tesla Loyalty discounts.... $500 OFF 3/Y + 3-Months FSD or $1000 OFF S/X + 3-Months FSD included is icing on the cake.
NOTE: IRS site updated today 9/5/23 - Model X LR listed :)
DO NOT TEST DRIVE A MODEL X UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO BUY A MODEL X!!!!
Very good review, analysis, and price comparison, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
spacious, safe and I dont have to detour to the gas station or make accommodations when I go for oil changes!
Great video, thank you. I understand your reasoning behind model y but Model X looks so much better and the falcon doors are a great feature to own if you have children. And its extra roomy. A few years ago we got Model S instead of Model 3. Did not regret it for a second, still own and love the car. Waiting to see if they will offer the 6 seater configuration at this price point and then I will jump on the Model X next. And if not that, maybe get a Rivian r1s @ this price point.
You know you can get a discounted model ordered directly from tesla with less than 4k down payment and a total no more than 20 grand with a ref code.
for sure, the more expensive one looks and feels better, as it should lol
