My 2022 model X (non plaid) was bought back but my 2024 model X plaid does not have any of the issues I had with the 2022. I also have 20 inch rims on the 2024 and had 22 inch rims on the 2022.
Sadly, both Long Range and Plaid had issues for us. Both refresh. I think the previous models seem to hold up better. But no car is perfect. Just our luck that both had issues.
@@sherwinm my new plaid has been amazing. My dad has previous gen and it has its own problems. They are like most vehicles and will need maintenance. When they are working good, they are great
I lie a little of noise interior on bumpy roads on the Y nothing crazy If u have no music when u have radio or music u don’t hear nothing but yeah that is all they all 2024
@ not a single Problem with none of my X and S both Long Range not Plaid. Y just make rattle noises when bumpy roads, so basically going on 6 month with them and so far all good. Hardware on the X one time i reset it because my update said 100% and it did not go away it was stock on 100% so restarted the car and gone. That is all.
Interesting... I've had Teslas for the past four years. My experience has been stellar! Any issues were quickly resolved, the staff was personable and professional and I was always offered a loaner. I've been buying cars for over 50 years and these cars have been the best supported I've ever owned.
My previous Model 3 was near perfect. Both Model Y we owned had some issues. All service center experience with those three cars have been fine. But for whatever reason, both our Model X not only has had more issues but issues with the service center. We've been going to the same service center location for all our Tesla cars. 🤷♂
2023 April Model X Plaid.....Tesla repurchased it due to several issues. Had the same 'creaking' noise, but this was not the reason it was repurchased. The car was great, looked great but with the rattles and constant issues I was glad to see the back of it.... Have a Rivian now, never looked back !! (You know LOL)
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the luggage clips! When I got my Mercedes GLE 53 AMG home I was disappointed to find out suitcases turn on their side would not fit in the trunk! Nice to see that clearance between the bag wheels and the trunk door in your normal travel config.
I got my 23 X after watching yours. FW doors were perfect. Have this rattle from the panel behind the 2nd row, steering wheel buttons started to vibrate and rattle, and this random clicking from the front axle, but they were all fixed by the technician and even got the updated steering wheel. I had great experience from the Fort Worth SC. It seems the X requires average 2 SC visits from what I read online.
The service experience has been hit or miss for me. Although a miss on Model X visits. But 3/Y, they seem to be able to fix things without additional issues. 🤷🏻♂️ Glad all is well with yours
I watched your Model X issues video and still bought one. I got a used one and don't have any issues, even got the free yoke replacement from Tesla. I'm just waiting for an issue to come up or something to break. It's a 2022 Model X with 30k miles as well.
I know, I just wanted to show the space in that orientation. You can only fit a regular luggage lying down without the cover... maybe check in luggage stacked on top while the third row seats are up. Maybe 🙂
Thank you for the feedback. I will do more angles as I'm driving. Most of my mounts are on the Model Y. I rarely drive the Model X. Mostly on road trips
Great break down of the plaid. The X is a beautiful car when it works nicely but that’s the big question. The 6 seat set up is the best in all of Tesla’s lineup.
Tesla buying my 2023 X back after numerous issues. Really contemplating whether I want another one after this experience with service. Test driving a R1S in a couple weeks
I don't know how I feel about the Gen2 R1S except the camera improvements. They got rid of many standard equipment and made them optional/add-ons. I guess it's a good way to lower cost if you don't need them. I think it's still tight in the back with the 3rd row up. I think EverydayChris has a video comparing the two with luggage space. I had a quick look between gen 1 & 2. A sales guy was showing me the differences. I was going to demo drive but I didn't have enough time. I was at service for something... video soon. I had the clicking noise on my 2024 Model X. I took it in for service. They replaced a part in the control arms and did a wheel re alignment. Clicking noise is gone. I am sorry you have not had good experience with your service center. I have been a Tesla owner for over 7 years and have not yet had a bad experience.
Glad you got the issue repaired. I don't know why I've had bad Tesla service experience solely with the Model X but with the Model Y, no issues with the service center. Do they hate these cars when they come in? 😅 I've been going to Rivian service recently and have been experiencing similar service issues... some have come from Tesla service 🤔
To correct the clicking Tesla replace the CAM-SEMS and the FRONT AFT LINK ASSEMBLY (parts are listed that way on the invoice) and that cured the clicking. It was done under warranty.
@@2011bn Thanks. I will screenshot this and bring it up to them. Problem is I'm hesitant to bring it in because it always comes back worse as I left it. Happens with Rivian too. I'll see how long I can live with it but wife is irritated by it.
Great video, we have a 2023 Model Y and test drove a 2025 Model X, night and day difference in ride and comfort, but is it worth the price? We have had our Y to many places from Indy to AZ, FL, Maine, ND and many other road trips and have not had to wait on charging except once in New Mexico. We really like the Y but would like 6 seats. I'm thinking our next Tesla will be the X since we use it as a long range trips.
We are surrendering the Model X soon because of the buyback. I have a video planned to go over my final impressions of it hopefully next week. If performance and comfort is your main reason to upgrade from the Model Y, then you won't be disappointed. As a "people mover" it's great. If you have to bring luggages and other things, you have to be creative or buy a cargo box for the hitch. Stay tuned for the video. Thanks for watching.
Loving my Mustang Mach-E but still have my eye on a Model X or the R1S for my next EV purchase. I had an X on order and cancelled and intimately ended up with the Mach-E.
Curious why you decided to get another X after so many problems with the previous one. We had a terrible time with our last Y that was close to a lemon law buyback, and Tesla was dismissive and really hard to deal with.
We came from minivans and love them. We're not going back to gas so the closest EV in size was the Model X (at the time we got our first one). Then Rivian released the R1S. At the time we got our Plaid, there were no Rivian locations nearby. I wanted to be ready just in case I had issues with Rivian and driving 1.5 - 2 hours one way to the closest Rivian service center was not an option. So we got another Model X. Also the Plaid was cheaper than the R1S I configured. They recently opened a Rivian location nearby that's why I got a R1T. This should have been the truck instead of my Model Y Performance. But I love my MYP and the value tanked on it plus it's paid off, I might as well keep it and continue to use it as a daily driver and use my truck on the weekends and when we need to do truck things so I leased one. Unless Tesla improves quality and service, I doubt we'll get a third Model X. Rivian R1S or even the Lucid Gravity may be an option in the future.
When we went to PI for a month, I just charge both MYP and MXP to around 80%. Vented the windows, unlocked, and sentry mode off (at home inside the garage). I looked on the app a few times. I think it drained like 10-15% in a month. I can't remember. I may have done a post about it but haven't released the video the day I came back. This is before the recent update that the car will go in a deep sleep when not used for a couple of hours www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/comments/1e5z313/tesla_updates_app_to_v435_no_longer_wakes_up_the/ If you want to plug it in, you can plug it in either to your wall connector or the 110W plug. It'll just charge if it drops below you charge limit. The biggest drain to battery when parked is sentry mode and cabin overheat protection. It's about 7% loss daily with our MXP when we're in Vegas - every 24 hours it's just parked. I don't have mine plugged in when we leave it for vacation
@sherwinm Thanks . We will be going to PI next year. I also too charge it to 80% as my daily driver tho. Will keep in my mind about don't need to plug when we go on vacation . I just thought i read somewhere it's healthy for the battery if you leave it plugged in when not in used.

I'm interested in the Tesla X long range due too the ability too fold in the seats.
Make sure you don't get the 6-seater, 2nd row do not fold down all the way
Do the self opening front doors swing open during windy days or have some resistance to them?
I think it will open as long as there's no obstruction. It won't detect wind. There is some resistance so it won't swing "too fast"
Is it possible you can turn
The camera around and talk so we can see the road?
