    I’ve had my MX 5 seater for 5 yrs and I’ve had 0 issues with the falcon wing doors and I have 0 regrets buying it. I think the 5 seater is the best for folding the back seat for so much more room. Don’t like in the 6 seater that they don’t fold flat. I do like your videos. Thanks for the videos.

    Looking at the Model X because of the falcon doors. My mother is wheelchair bound and I am her caregiver. The falcon doors make it easy to get her into using the lift. Don’t have to worry about hitting her head or bottom while putting her in. Did a 24hr test drive to try them out.

    We have owned our 2016 X 6 seater for 7+ years, had cold weather issues and other warranty fixes early on such as falcon doors refusing to open in the cold (with a toddler inside, had to climb through the trunk). The falcon doors were indeed great for getting kids in and out of car seats, but now that our kids are getting out of them we will be switching to a new Y. Expecting fewer issues on a simpler car with years of issues already worked out. Will miss the air suspension though.

    The Model X Falcon wing doors have a interior mode so they only open up partially (low mode) after going indoors (garage) and you have to drive over 7mph or go around 100 feet away from your home for the doors to open all the way again, also check your door setting from low to Auto, there use to be a function I was told that would remember location you allowed to have the doors fully open but was taken away in the newer model. There are some exceptions to make the car open up at home. Hope this helps

    I've had my 2018 used model X P100D for about 6 months now. Many of the issues you stated like auto presenting doors not working aren't a problem on older models. There are trade offs to be sure, but I love this thing.

    The Model X is my DREAM CAR. But I was stumped on whether to get either a 5 seater or 6 seater and had more questions. Here’s my takes after watching this video
    - Getting the standard 5 seater is simply better than the expensive six seater (if I want a 6 seater, I can get the Plaid)
    - No autofrunk is total bullshit. Props to Hannshow for giving us the Auto Frunk arm
    - No USS is also bullshit. It’s one of the most vital components of any car.
    - The doors on the model X are fine.
    - In previous years, the spoiler on the model X was retractable. Why it’s not retractable now is beyond my comprehension. Looking at it through a rear view mirror, you can see it does block your view from the back which can be dangerous even though Tesla already has a rear view camera
    - The refreshed steering wheel/yoke is nice but there is no center horn (absolute bullshit). Its a good thing the Cybertruck and Model 3 Highland have a center frunk. Hopefully in 2024-2025, Tesla adds this feature alongside the autofrunk

    I have had my '23 white with white interior 6 seater since August. Had a '20 Model Y and the upgrade to the X is worth the money. Tinted the front windows to match the rears and had the vehicle ceramic coated. Paid for enhanced Autopilot but still not able to autopark or summon because of absence of ultrasonic sensors. Apparently the software will be released soon, but that doesn't soothe the $6000.00 cost upfront. Otherwise I am happy with the air suspension ride versus the Y , and the immense upgrade in power.

    I’m ordering an X at the end of this month - red, black interior, round wheel (yokes are great in planes, not in cars turning on corners or round-about), non-plaid - insane acceleration in an SUV seems a tad extreme, and a standard five seat configuration. Your channel has been a help, along with Tesla’s extreme price drop.

    I have a '21 MY LR and I've had no issues. I needed to replace the tires at about 15K, which was way too early in my opinion considering regular car tires last 60K. The brakes are still brand new, no problems. The cabin air filters need replacement constantly due to a vinegar smell. The repair tech stated that this is a design flaw in the Y? Not sure about that. But, after watching this video, I'm on the fence as to upgrading to a MX now. Falcon wings not opening or may have parts that break that cause them not to open? Huh? For the price, wow, thought this would not be an issue.

    • @forbannitus
      @forbannitus 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@khanmali68 I bought it now because I currently drive a 2019 MX-5 (that I absolutely love) but will garage for the winter. Also, my new job location will not allow me to use my wife's car (as I had before). Although the the Model Y might decrease further in price, I decided to purchase at the current reduced price and to take delivery in calendar year 2023 to take advantage of the $7,500 tax incentives (who knows what will happen in 2024 to Model Y pricing and tax incentives). Ultimately, my situation was unique to me. I could have bought a beater car to get me through the winter, but I did that one year and hated the experience and the associated costs. Truth be told, I would have waited for the new Model Y if I could have, but I simply could not. Regardless, the test drive sealed the deal for me, so I'm happy to buy the current Model Y. I suspect you have also been performing your due diligence. My advice to you is to determine whether you are willing to take the risk of uncertainty (i.e., tax incentives changing, revised pricing of new Model Y, specific changes to styling, and possible changes to features (steering wheel stalks being removed?) or if your okay with the certainly the current model provides with the take breaks offered regardless of the new bells and whistles that will undoubtedly come with the new Model Y. Good Luck to you.

  • @JohnEFly
    @JohnEFly 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Got a model X a few weeks ago as well. Unfortunately, I have not had the same luck as you with the Falcon Wing Doors. My sensors fail quite a bit, and the doors will ignore all obstacles when this happens. Worse, this did actually result in my daughter getting hit in the head by the doors. It's also super frustrating because when the sensors aren't working it's hard to notice until the doors open or close faster and just ignore all obstacles. The motor won't push through something, but it still hit her in the head with enough force to leave a bump. The door sensors work properly 90% of the time, but you never quite know when you're in that 10% state. Hopefully Tesla gets that fixed...
    Regarding the front door self presenting, I actually think they will get this figured out. Perhaps you haven't noticed the same thing, but when I open the front door after popping it out, if there is an obstacles that the door would hit while I'm opening it, the motor actually fights me to stop me from opening the door. It stops just before it would have hit the obstacle, but then if I keep pushing I can push through it. I have not felt this same resistance on the passenger door, just the driver door. I notice this primarily because where I park in my garage there is usually an obstacle that my door would hit if I tried to open it all the way. To me, if they can make that work, they can make the full self presenting feature work again.
    Bottom line, the car is absolutely amazing. I love driving it, but the falcon wing door issues are super frustrating.

There is no other electric car on the market that even comes close to the performance and reliability of these Tesla's. I have S X and Ys. S/X is more premium and more spacious, air suspension. However Y is the best Tesla overall-value, safety, right sized, utility, modern design/manufacturing. Y Performance is awesome. With tax credits Y is a great value. If you are larger or transport 4-7 people regularly then X makes sense. If you are mid/smaller size (height weight) and carry 4 or less total passengers Y should do fine fire way less. I’d rather have Y with FSD than X without.
    My old X has full self presenting doors the original chrome pedestal 3 seat split mid row with easy entry into rear seating-great features now gone.

I think I'll have fewer issues with the Y so I went that direction. Spending $25K more for a vehicle I'd potentially have more problems with didn't add up to me. If I lived closer to a service center I probably would have stayed with the X. The auto presenting doors not working was a bummer as well.
