Hi Gary, thank you for making the course! Got my S5ii two weeks ago so this is coming handy. I have a nerdy technical in depth question in advance: I like to use voice isolation function in Davinci Resolve Studio. However, with the footage of the Lumix S5ii the function is not available. The tab is just not there in DR. I believe this is due to the fact the camera is using audio codec Linear PCM when shooting video in MOV format. With MP4 format you get AAC audio codec with the LUMIX. I checked in Davinci Resolve. The files with AAC codec have the ability to use voice isolation. I don't want to shoot MP4 as the quality decreases (less bitrate, no 6k open gate...)
What would you suggest? As the camera comes with good pre amps already I want to avoid using external audio recorder to keep the setup slim.

I have the S5ii and it is hands down the best camera I have ever owned. All that was required with Panasonic was for them to fix the Auto-Focus and they did. I believe the AF on the S5ii is every bit as good as any Sony. It's reliable. 👌👌

I really wish they would add all intra to the s5ii. They don’t need to add pro res, just unacceptable to not have all intra. Even Fuji xt3 has al intra and it’s a phot cam first

I just bought my S5ii-X and this is *exactly* what I need! Do you happen to cover B-RAW recording with the Video Assist?

I don’t have an S5IIX yet, but I’m considering getting one to complement my other black magic cameras. in your opinion, is the colour science similar? In other words are easy to match up?

The internal footage feels more "compressed" when you are trying to match them up compared to BRAW and has a green "muddiness" in the shows sometimes. BUT. if you capture BRAW from the HMDI output, you pretty much have a full-frame Blackmagic camera with AF & IBIS, it matches flawlessly.

Forgive me father for i have sinned. My s5ii has been sitting in the dark, collecting dust for the past 6 months. I cannot wait to start filming again.
