Great video, saved me money and a ton of time. This morning had a washer full of water and clothes and it wouldn’t start. Watched this video and literally 10 minutes later the washer was running. The lid switch was exactly where you showed it and the fix worked like a charm.
The best part is I never have to worry about a bad lid switch again. Thanks for posting this video.
Have 3 wires purple yellow and another color ßo can u explain do I need to by pass one of them and cut them and wire them or qhich wires back together have a ge and u unplugged the door switch as well but mine is different

Thank you so so much!!!! I knew about the little lever underneath but I think I've exhausted that hack. It stopped working. I used this hack and it worked! the comments were really helpful too! I didn't cut the wires either, I was skeptical about that part. Literally just twisted all the wires together tightly as they were and to our surprise it worked. Saved my grandma the stress of purchasing a new machine (she doesn't like change). THANK YOU!

Thank you Dan! Same symptoms, and I found that someone in the past had done this in a BAD way, by making a jumper with a tiny 1/2 inch U- shape of stranded wire, merely inserted into the white and gray terminals of the plug itself.
It worked! Had a washer full of water and figured it was time for a new one. Saved us $$$! Thank you.
Hello Dan, first off I like to say I’m a newbie to your channel. Like to say thank you for all the good pointers and advise you pass on. We started following you this summer when my 11th grade son and I started cutting lawns so he could learn the value of hard work. I have a Roper. To get the front piece off there are two screws at the back that have to be removed. But this worked like a charm!! Thank you😊

Oh my!! So grateful for your video!!! I too had a washer full of laundry and water..filled but did not engage further.
After watching your video twice.
I decided to start conservatively...unplugged, sprayedWD40 in the machine mechanism that engages with the lid... also.. for good measure.. wrapped the little pin on the lid with a small strip of duct tape to ensure plenty of contact with the lid and machine... plugged it back in and the washer immediately engaged! Whoo hoo!

Was EXACTLY my problem! I didn't cut the wires, but I unplugged the switch and made a jumper out of bare wire between the two sockets of the gray and white wires. Worked like a charm and pinpointed the faulty part! Hero! Thanks!

So very glad I found this video. I haven't fixed the issue yet but have had pre-existing problems with having to push the door hard to the left in order to work. I've also noticed the agitator doesn't seem to be tight. It barely moves until I put pressure down on it. Hopefully another easy fix.😉

My washer did the same thing about a year ago but had the humming noise and it was a baby sock stuck in the pump-fixed. This time tore it apart but noticed no humming and was like where is the door sensor lol started to give up and found you had the same type and location of sensor and did it and works now.
