Doug, I am so happy for your success. It's just amazing to see your growth. It's inspiring and wonderful to see. And your carsandbids etc. just brilliant. congratz.
I bought the gas model (760i) about a month ago and I just love it! At first, I wasn't sure about the grill, but it's grown on me. I got the crystal headlamps as well and if you're going to buy one of these, it's a must have (they're so pretty). The exterior is really nice but what sets this car apart is the interior. My previous car was a 2017 750i and this is just light years beyond that. I loved my 750i when I bought it, but BMW has really stepped up their game. I went to the dealership anticipating on purchasing the Mercedes S class, but once I compared both, there was no way I wasn't going to buy the BMW. It's just a beautiful car. The TV in the back is my only real criticism. It's very nice for the passengers in the back but I don't like how it blocks the rear-view mirror. I tend to use that a lot more than my side mirrors and when the TV is down, you can't see anything out of the back. I would like in a software update for the rear camera to enable when the TV is down so the driver can easily see out of the back while driving. One other thing is the vent system. I personally like the air blowing cold right at me during the summer but without the full vents, you really don't get that anymore. It still cools the car, but I really like feeling the air on my face and you don't get that sensation with this design. Still, I give it a solid 9.5/10. Best car I've ever owned!
Completely agree, the crystal headlights are a must have! I work at a BMW dealership, I have a remedy for you that might help. Down on the center console there’s a little “P” button with a camera on it as well, press that while driving & it’ll enable the rear-parking camera even if you’re driving forwards. Now you’ll be able to see out of the back with the TV down.
@@PrankingThat I didn't know. I'll have to try that next time. Still, they should make it automatically enable when the TV is down, but this is good to know. Thanks
If you'd enable the uneven road app while driving anywhere in Brazil, it would end up mapping the entire land transportation network 🤣🤣🤣 but seriously though, no matter what great suspension a car can have, you NEVER stop shaking and being jolted about while driving in Brazil. It's amazing. Uneven asphalt is the rule, you are surprised when any paved surface is actually smooth!
The sensors on the side of the car for the automatic doors made me shutter thinking about how much to replace it if it were to be hit. Truly crazy that people purchase/lease these cars even if it's for a short time.
As someone who does major repairs I can confirm even minor hits on this car will cost almost 10 grand.. need a new fender & headlight??? That’s $8950 total & that’s before labor and shop cost
The fold down TV screen was pretty sick. It's not the motion of the TV but the size of it that caught my attention. Far superior than a tablet screen for sure.
The problem with that screen is that it's centered. So the passengers will have to crane their necks and have their heads turned for however long they're watching.
Just a personal preference but I don't like the design of the interior at all. Mainly 2 things: 1) All those crystal buttons and bands around the driver and front passenger seat actually look cheap. 2) All the different function buttons splatter all around the band look cluttered/ distracting, if not overwhelming. I guess my personal preference is to have a clean, sleek, and minimalist look in the interior of a car instead of having sharp angles, crystal buttons, and function buttons displayed everywhere.
20 years ago we had the 2003 7 series with the revolutionary bangle butt design. BMW gets frisky from time to time and I think it’s needed to shake up the industry.
I had a 2017 750I and I loved it. I sold it to get the 2022 Tesla Model S Plaid, and every time I drive it, I am reminded of why I did it. I don't even let FSD take over because I am jealous. It drives that good.
I’m not a screen hater. With all the new features, you need a multipurpose screen to fit all the options. But climate control, seat adjustment and basic stereo controls should absolutely remain as physical buttons and knobs. I don’t want to have to scroll through 5 menus to turn down the volume because my Pandora went from Smoke On The Water to I Cum Blood.
100% should have been a 10 in features. Doug says he reserves a 10 for new groundbreaking tech and I think this car absolutely has that. The unique doors, the screens on the rear doors for controls, a 31 inch rear screen, and the interior security camera just to name a few. No one else is doing it like this.
The sensors on the bottom of the car I CANNOT agree with those will get scratched and scraped over time and would cost a guy in Louisiana’s whole salary to fix
I think that augmented reality thing is something that’s plausible in the future of cars. Imagine if something like that could project on your windshield like current day HUDs. It would be like a video game
how is it the best, is probably the worse car review ever, this guy does not know anything about cars even less about EVs he barely spoke about anything that matters.
as beautiful as this car is, just watching you detail all those “touch bar buttons” just makes me imagine the nightmare of a headache they will cause if one goes out. one thing i love about my 2011 5 series is the button layout and knob that is available. sad to see that manufacturers think the new way is touchscreens and touch bars. think about the mac book with the touch bar lol. after about a year they were basically useless and had a lot of issues not allowing people to use buttons
Doug, you overlooked demonstrating that from the rear passenger seat you can have the front passenger seat move all the way forward so the rear passenger seat car can reconfigure itself into being a recliner/lounge chair.
Its like a concept car come to real life, tech is totally cool. Love the crystals and triangles, not sure why, but I like them. The fold down screen is inspired and wonderful, and the touch screen rear door controls, fab idea. Totally dig this car
@@theboogeyman5736 Nah, I bought one and the crystals add so much sophistication to the car. While driving you get these little glisten effects, and it just feels so luxurious. I'm loving it.
I can't believe I'm saying this but the front look is kinda catching on for me. It looks decent on the X7, but on the i7 it seemed too big for the cars size, but now the i7 actually looks nice ngl
0:35 Big Doug finally got his hands on a Maserati MC12 to review! Can't wait for that one (meanwhile I'll polish up the nice MC12 1 to 18 scale model I have)
Another $140,000 car that will last around 65,000 miles before it “$h\ts” the bed like any other BMW. I’ll just wait 6 years and pick one of these up for $18,000k
One quirky feature that was missed: from the passenger-side back seat, you can use your screen to fold down the seat in front of you, which turns a little ledge on it into a footrest and raises it up a little, and recline your seat so you have the ultimate back seat theatre experience.
The fact that there's a camera inside of your car and it's taking pictures of you tells me exactly what the government wants to do with this technology.
Who else here has gotten pretty good at guessing Doug's score after he completes the review but just before he announces his score? Nailed it this time.
The problem with the styling is the proportions of the front. Those tiny narrow running lights next to that gigantic grille. They sould have merged the headlights and the running lights/blinkers together
I don’t get luxury cars. If I were to get this for free sure I would drive it and love it, I would use all the nice features for the first week then just forget about them. I use cars to get where I need to go but this thing would definitely impress the ladies buddies and make an old guy catch flies
I always found it incredible difficult to open and close doors. Really well thought invention. Will never fail and will always work until the end of the lifespan of the whole car. Really great.
My arms were too puny to use cars. Not any more. I just know that this feature will be 100% reliable and never cause a four-figure problem out of warranty.
As a BMW Client Advisor I’m using this video for some extra training lol. There’s a couple cool features Doug left out, but I also learned some new stuff so that’s okay!
Most likely they will handle it by... well, not handling it. Simply cease to function properly. That tends to happen with these types of sensors in colder climate if ice buildup covers them. Then again, if the weather is so cold that your door handle sensors are covered in frost/ice/snow/grime, you most likely wouldn't be trusting those sensors with the protection of your door opening in the first place. All this aside, I'd wager 95% of 7 series owners wouldn't park their cars outside for such things to become serious issues in the first place, covered or indoor parking even on trips is where you tend to see them.
That huge screen in the back will just give people kinks in their necks from having to look slightly to one side for an hour. It's actually not in an ideal position for either passenger. It's much better to have a smaller screen in front of you.

@@brianlee9233 what? No way, is that what Doug meant when he said 'this is the electric version of the 7 series'?
The oversized BMW grille kind of works on big cars like the 7 series and X5/7… I see it and it reminds me of how Rolls Royces and Bentleys have large grilles, which is most likely the intention.
Definitely. They sell them with 2 tone coach style paint jobs just like the rolls. Looks amazing too. Mercedes is doing the same.
Rolls royce is BMW btw, so Yeah I can see that.
One of those cars you can drive for years and still find options you didn’t know you had 😂
Provided that they still work.
And imagine the trolling you can do. You can teach the car to, as an example, open the window when you're at a certain location (entrance parking garage or something). The amount of trolling you can build in to it whenever someone else drives it, is endless.. 🙂

How are you so Ruch
@@PrankingThat I didn't know. I'll have to try that next time. Still, they should make it automatically enable when the TV is down, but this is good to know. Thanks
@@Dan_YerlllI wouldn't say I'm rich but I make enough to have a few nice things.

The cost to replace ANYTHING on this car is going to be astronomical 😂 can't even imagine

I love that hazard lights idea, flashing on the dash. That is ingenious
The fold down TV screen was pretty sick. It's not the motion of the TV but the size of it that caught my attention. Far superior than a tablet screen for sure.
That’s basically what my wife said

How does this not get a 10 for features? I love that lit up crystal looking trim, thats sick.
Imo it’s fair because of the ac and the responsiveness on the vent control
@@ianmccall2062 because most of them unpractical on screen
Features are evolving. You can't give it perfect score. Maybe next 7 series is better than this, would you give same 10 to that also?
I’m convinced 10 for features is reserved for a vehicle that automatically jacks you off
Has he ever given a car a 10 in that category?
the front end is a face only a mother could love
This is the kind of car you have to watch Doug review. Other journalists skim over all of the details that make this car interesting.
BMW really said “we’re taking Netflix and chill on the go”
20 years ago we had the 2003 7 series with the revolutionary bangle butt design. BMW gets frisky from time to time and I think it’s needed to shake up the industry.
I am sensitive to laggy displays, so those door-panels is better if they remove . other than that it looks like a really impressive car.
Strongly agree! Almost all modern cars stuff their interiors full of screens that end up looking like glued 12 year old android tablets.
This car makes the E65 look like a gorgeous car.
It is actually.
The E65 is gorgeous.
Nope that one is still worse
I had a 2017 750I and I loved it. I sold it to get the 2022 Tesla Model S Plaid, and every time I drive it, I am reminded of why I did it. I don't even let FSD take over because I am jealous. It drives that good.

@SYED RIPEJ stop spamming your viruses please.
What would it take to get a 10 in features??
The car has to double as a spaceship.
He's given Rolls Royces and a few other cars 10s for features. Maybe his standard is getting higher because cars in general are packing more features.
I hoped you score it 10 for features ... its almost a spaceship
His constant inconsistency with scoring is really annoying at this point.
100% should have been a 10 in features. Doug says he reserves a 10 for new groundbreaking tech and I think this car absolutely has that. The unique doors, the screens on the rear doors for controls, a 31 inch rear screen, and the interior security camera just to name a few. No one else is doing it like this.
@@kylek762 Yeah for real

I think that augmented reality thing is something that’s plausible in the future of cars. Imagine if something like that could project on your windshield like current day HUDs. It would be like a video game
Or you could just look out the windscreen at the real world.

as beautiful as this car is, just watching you detail all those “touch bar buttons” just makes me imagine the nightmare of a headache they will cause if one goes out. one thing i love about my 2011 5 series is the button layout and knob that is available. sad to see that manufacturers think the new way is touchscreens and touch bars. think about the mac book with the touch bar lol. after about a year they were basically useless and had a lot of issues not allowing people to use buttons

So you know what material those seats are?
I hate the touch screen on my air humidifier... I would go mad in this car.
Really curious how the rocker panel sensors will handle snowy climates considering ice does attach to them on slushy roads
I'll let you know, ordering mines now!
I hope well since thoes sensor technology has been on cars since like the late 90's it should be perfected by now.
