@Machina Completely agree about the G;s.. they are Silent but Felt and the plaid delivers them in spades...ive never felt that kind of acceleration, the only electric ive been in was a chevy volt with 300ftlbs and That was instant and very addictive.. cant even fathom 1200 or so ftlbs in the plaid

I have watched Doug drive cars & review cars for a long time..I have seen him smile and go nice with very fast exotic cars,I have never seen the sheer look of terror on his face like here,its like he experienced warp speed on Star Trek for the first time..and this is someone who has driven hundreds of exotic cars.
I´m a valet and we got a Plaid and after talking to the guest he let me floor it. You will never be thrown back so hard in a seat in your life. Like Doug said, it´s the craziest roller coaster you´ve ever been on. I´ve had the opportunity to floor Ferraris, Lamborghinis and the like and nothing comes close to the Plaid. It´s fucking scary quick.

Hey Doug, I stumbled across something today I had no idea existed, and would make a good video if you could find one. It's a real oddity. The Sterling Bullet. They were basically a Ram 3500+, but these were badged under Sterling, which is predominantly a medium to heavy duty truck manufacturer. They sort of had a cult following, and because they never had pickup truck beds from the factory, some people made it their mission to make it work, and the one I saw today looked factory. Really a nice looking truck that's aged well.

I cannot describe the suprise of an electric car being the fastest car you can buy now. Growing up in the 60's, and 70's. If you tried to convince me back then that this would be engineered in the future. I would have never believed it. Just insane. I still personally want to hear my engine though. Not a big fan of its styling, but would be more than happy to own one because of it's performance.
You can build a honda to run 9s if you know what you're doing. This car will get smoked by everything at Texas 2K dude. Levels to the game...road car guys are still on the bench.
Ofcoarse they'd be faster than gas vehicles. Its instant power, 1 speed. Just like when you pull the trigger on a drill, its just there. Doesnt have to build up power so to speak

At some point, a driver would need some kind of g-suit to drive this type of car if they get much faster. I've ridden in both a Model S and a Model X and have been massively impressed by the power and acceleration of both. This one would be insane!

Fact is , when someone is accelerating , their are expressionless , quiet , and focused. After they let off is when they react. So basically he's pretending , which means he's not being 100% authentic so everything he's done is now less credible.

My boss just got his a few weeks ago and he came out on the floor and grabbed me for a test run. He put it in "plaid" mode and did the launch. Not only is it crushing you into the seat, but there is hardly no sound. Just the sound of the tires on the pavement is all I could hear, maybe a little bit of motor whine when it got up to speed. But I am used to big 427 LS powered rumbling under my ass kind of feeling for those kinds of launches. And 0-60 in 2 seconds? I would have poo pooed that number until I rode in one. I would not doubt that figure at all now. What a ride

The button on the yoke for the horn seems to be a bit of safety hazard. When an emergency crops up instead of laying on the center of the wheel you have a tiny button you must find. I might be old school but everything on that big screen that you need to find that takes your vision off the road I always thought was also more hazardous, sort of like a texting while driving distraction.

Another review of this who’s video drops this week actually called it painful. Overall he was far less kind than Doug but he takes nothing away from the sheer sensation, which he called “painful, like astronaut testing painful” that the Plaid can do and hat tips to Tesla’s engineers. They get a lot of shit wrong but acceleration ability is not one of them. He said he felt his eyeballs squeezing back in their sockets and he’s driven Hellcats etc. To Doug’s point a lot of kids if millionaires borrowing Daddy’s car will be killing themselves, hope they don’t take out innocent people as well.

To be fair...It's to an extent, like seeing a granny knock someone out (even though you knew she could do it).
I thought I had driven fast cars until I drove a Plaid... accelerating feels like a full emergency stop, just backwards and for as long as you want. The entire car is so quirky, interesting and fun to drive, I was smiling ear to ear the entire 3h trip.

The “atomic bomb” AC button is not actually an nuclear symbol, it’s a biohazard one. And it doesn’t just blows a lot of air, he is actually creating a positive pressure inside the cabin, so that air can only go in by the (GIANT) air filter, that is actually a biohazard filter. This will protect the people inside from biohazard weapons.

I have a Model 3 performance and I already feel like this when going from a standing still... Can't even imagine the feeling of the Tesla Plaid ... holy shit kind of scary
Had a Y LR for a week, then Plaid for a week and now a 3 performance the last week on this business trip, and the Plaid is insane. It feels like it pulls twice as hard as this 3P. And where the 3P falls off at around 80, the Plaid when stabbed at 80, pulls almost just as hard. It's nuts I never went over 130 but it gets there FAST! Gotta remember the spectrum: I clocked 0-100 in 4.5 seconds, and these hit 150 in 9 so if you stab it at 100 you'll hit 150 in a hair under 5 seconds. It's unbelievable

@@jamespalmer9033 Exactly, the High Efficiency Particulate Air filter. This type of air filter can theoretically remove at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria, and any airborne particles with a size of 0.3 microns (µm).
That means a whole lot of biohazardous particles stay outside of the car. Practically it means you are better protected from the air pollution ICE vehicles produce in front of you!
This is apparently an underrated feature.

The Storage cover lid does actually cover the entire compartment. You tap once for halfway and twice to completely cover the compartment.
