Hi Joelle, I discovered you a few weeks ago when I was looking for some exercises for my hip pain. Since then, I've been trying your exercises (everyday!). I must tell you I'm feeling much better! you have a perfect way of explaining everything. I'm 61 yesrs old and some pains I've been trying to control without pills, Thanks to you, I'm achieving that. Thank you for your work!!
That's so kind of you, thank you!! So glad you're finding these videos helpful and most importantly I hope you're proud of yourself for finding what your body needs!
I love that you’re bringing us studies on pain relief science. Thank you for that! The mindset piece is huge for me. Whenever I’m rushed or stressed I shortly thereafter realize my back is killing me. I’m still trying to figure out how to stop that before it starts! This video was very helpful!
I just found you a few days ago. You’re such a pleasure to watch. I’m dealing w SI joint pain, then the groin/inner thigh. I used to be a flexible and now it hurts to walk. So I looked up yoga for SI pain and there you were. Slow and steady and it’s peaceful. I did PT for a bit but I’m so tight and tense I would be there for months. I decided to take another direction. You’re such a breath of fresh air!!! I’ve been really enjoying your yoga over the last few days!! Thanks!!!
Thank you for this video. I really appreciate the visuals. My thoracic is my worst area, and where my scoliosis has the biggest S curve. I've done your scoliosis stretch, but I'm if you have one focusing on the thoracic?
I'm glad this was helpful! If you search "yoga with Joelle thoracic" on TH-cam you'll find the ones I've got out there - there might be other words in the title like "chest stretch" or "upper back," but the stretches will target the same areas. I'd suggest trying 2 or 3 different ones to see which practice seems to help you the most, and I really hope you find a good one!
I really loved this video and I learned a lot from it! I love your energy and excitement, plus all your knowledge and I'm super happy you did this video! Thanks so much! Your videos and positive encouragement have motivated me to keep doing yoga and help with my chronic pain and anxiety! 💖🙏🤗
Hiii joelle, can you please advice me to sleeping posture for lower back pain. I am using your video to get rid of my lower back pain and it is improving. Thank you very much
I'm happy to hear it's helping! One sleeping position that is often recommended for lower back pain is to lie on your side with your knees slightly bent in front of you, possibly with a small cushion between the legs. If you prefer to sleep on your back, try placing a cushion underneath the knees. I hope that helps
Hi Joelle. Lately I have been putting up with quite a sore back and especially the lower back near my hips. The weather is quite cold in Australia. Can be quite hard to do a lot of things and stand up and sit down for too long. 3 months time will be 2 years of doing yoga
Joelle, I absolutely love what you do. Your videos are so helpful, but not only in helping to strengthen our bodies, you help us understand our bodies. I love your 3rd strategy. The mind body connection. Dr John Sarno was a pioneer in that field, and science is showing how our brains can create pain when there is really nothing wrong in our bodies. Not an easy process that's for sure❤
The false alarm is what is experienced also in tinnitus, so the brain will hyperfocus on it and keep it going. So interesting what we can do with knowing what the mind is doing: innocently protecting us ❤ Us with pain also often have too much interoception.. so I'm trying to turn my observation more outwards now. However the big question is: who is the one protecting vs the one observing it.. 😅
Nice exercises! Been dealing with back pain for a while and I'm hoping these work! Question, shouldn't number 3 go first? You said we should do it before we stretch, but we already stretched with the first two...
Hi joelle, thankyou. I have started doing 3min heart mind coherence (heartmath institute) before my exercises (your instruction) and noticed I feel much stronger and more stable. Does this experience make sense from your perspective ? i replaced the last 30sec breath with heart mind coherence breath as its simple.

Yes it's fascinating the impact our brain can have!

This isn't a follow along practice, so it's not about the order - these are tips to keep in mind to help manage back pain :-)
@@YogawithJoelle Yup! I just like to follow along anyway 😆
Excellent and well made video. Thank you. Watch out for that pesky word "actually". Also creeps up on us like back pain.
Not sure what you mean by that but glad you liked the video!

That's great! I'm not familiar with heart mind coherence but if it helps you feel strong and stable that sounds wonderful!
0:09 made me horse laugh😂
I know back pain is a serious topic but I really wasn't expecting that. Thank you for your humor❤
