I’m 25 years old and for months I’ve been suffering from an atrocious pain in my right hip especially when I walk or do the stairs. Doctors couldn’t understand what it was and I tried many medications that obviously didn’t work. I’ve been doing your videos for 4 days, the pain is almost gone and I feel so relieved. I’m finally able to walk again
Joelle is the bomb!! I suffer with excruciating pain in my back, hips, and neck! Have had many surgeries. I also have SLE lupus. This is great for all the above!! I’ve tried all her yin yoga! Thank you!!❤
Thank you. I have Ehler's Danlos, Fibro and after a car accident I have had multiple lumbar & cervical spine surgeries. I now have the lumbar spine remote control operated implanted stimulator for pain relief. My muscles are in a constant state of being knotted up and do not relax and it's excruciating. I decided to look for a video today and tried yours and I am so happy I landed on it! I really appreciate you. Then I saw the Piriformis title. I almost cried! I go to PT to help with it so I will be doing that too 🙂
Reading the comments and seeing that I'm not alone in experiencing this nagging and annoying pain is helpful. Thanks for your video! Day 1, I'm praying for relief.
Another amazing video for the lower back! Thank you so much Joelle these lower back short classes have been so good for me! Adding this one to my favorites as well!
@@YogawithJoelle I just finished my very first one hour yin yoga. I must say that it’s quite a different experience from the regular ones I’ve been doing. I would liken it to spending an hour in the spa😊 Thanks Joëlle! One question, is the wall option better than the regular one or just different?
@@larrysiy4457 I must say I am loving the idea of "spa yoga!" And good question about the wall - I'd definitely say it's "different" rather than "better" (we're all different, after all!) That said, it's a useful tool to help us progress certain poses, especially in longer holds like in Yin, so if you feel you'd like to explore going further, it's worth a shot to see how it works for you!
Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely keep this in mind :) In the meantime, if you search "yoga with joëlle sciatica" on TH-cam, you will find a couple that may be helpful! 🙏🙏
Thank you Joelle. I don’t have sciatica, but my entire hip area on my left side is very tight due to a leg length discrepancy, so I’m trying to gain flexibility there. However it seems that anytime I stretch on that side, my left leg falls asleep. I’m curious if there might be an explanation for that? Thank you again for all the love you put into your videos.❤
Interesting question, and I'm so glad to hear you enjoy practicing together! So legs falling asleep can certainly be due to a number of things, but it's not uncommon for many of us to experience that when holding a position for a longer period of time if our body hasn't quite yet "clued in" to what we're trying to achieve with a stretch or position. Sometimes pressure can briefly compress nerves (including the sciatic nerve, potentially), which is what leads to that "falling asleep" feeling. If it's a painful feeling then it's certainly something you can get checked out in more detail; if it's not, you can alsotry to wiggle around in the stretch a little bit to see if you can get a different/better sensation where you don't get that falling asleep feeling. Sometimes even just an inch or two can make a difference!
Hi, I'd recommend consulting your doctor or PT for specific questions like this, as I don't know you or your exact situation and can't responsibly advise on what is "possible" for you personally. There are some contraindications but everyone's situation will be different.
It's my experience, that deer pose and variations over it is very good, effective and gentle for the buttocks, hips and lower back. But for strange reasons it's most underrated compared to pigeon pose and swan pose, which is a pity.
