I love sweet corn pudding! My family makes it all the time for almost every occasion. We love it and people who've never had it fall in love too. We use creamed corn, but I'm sure it's just as delicious with whole kernel.

You brought back such fond memories of Thanksgiving at my dear Aunt’s house. She made the best corn pudding and she also used canned cream of corn. The men watched football in the den and her sisters and all of us girl cousins would gather in the kitchen with our wine in fancy goblets. Thanks for reminding me. Growing up in the south, we had corn pudding a lot. It was my favorite! It was never made with corn meal. I will have to try this...looks yummy!!!

This is one of my family's favorite side dishes too. My mom makes it basically the same way only she does a shortcut with Jiffy corn muffin mix and sour cream. Incredibly delicious!

Sandy... Though I use a different recipe, I believe this is the same sidedish that I make. And I tell people about the first time I ever had it. Have you ever seen the movie West Side Story? There is a scene when Tony and Maria Force each other across the floor of the gymnasium. Suddenly, everybody fades away.. and it's obviously love at first sight. I first had this dish at a restaurant, and as soon as it hit my tongue, everyone and the entire conversation at the table just faded away. I was in heaven and just consumed by this dish. Still to this day it's one of my favorite side dishes. It will be a big hit at the Thanksgiving table.

My mom makes this with three wet, three dry. Sour cream, butter and eggs are what I call the wet and canned corn, canned sweet corn and Jiffy corn bread mix are what I call the dry. Doesn’t really make sense but that’s how I remember it! It’s to die for!

In Haiti we have a dish called “Soufflé de maïs”, its a little similar to this. Except we cook everything and then we pop it in the oven.

Yummy! I make this also but I have never used corn meal before🤔 I'm definitely thinking about giving it a try this year! I agree, the turkey is my least favorite! It's ALL ABOUT THE SIDES! green bean casserole is my JAMMMMM!!

I have also added some vanilla essence , and cinnamon and nutmeg and cardamon powder to mine and I use evaporated milk instead of heavy cream the it just takes it to a higher level of taste . The spices gives it that earthy taste .

I have never heard of this! I’m definitely going to try it!! Thank for sharing. I’m also a side dish over turkey growing up we ever bought a turkey it was given to us and we would give it away. Then my mom started making turkey enchiladas they were good.

I made that before, but I give it a stir about every half hour when it is the oven, crunchy peaks in the middle too.
I'm just seeing this today and I love it but I need to know about those mixing bowls and big giant mixing cups you got. Where can I get those from? I live in Evansville Indiana. Also what was that thing that you pulsed with? I need a food processor I have never decided on one because I don't know which id need. What is the brand of the 1 you have, is that a good 1 to start with? I do realize this video is a couple years old but this information would be so helpful to me thank you

I make my corn casserole similar EXCEPT ... after I pour the corn mixture in the casserole dish, I top it with a mixture of sauted onion, celery and pepperoncini mixed with sour cream. I dollop that on top and spread as best as I can and then top that with grated cheese .... MMMMMMMM ...sooooo good :)
This looks so good! I have been making a version of this for years using canned sweet corn, creamed corn, Jiffy corn mix, and sour cream. I agree that it is so difficult to describe the texture. But it is ALWAYS a hit! I’m excited to try this recipe soon. 😄
It's only hard to describe because there's so much textural diversity in this one dish.

@@kcurtin1 make sure to use the method she uses in the video, I tried the written recipe and the corn bread came out mushy. Too much cream corn in her written recipe.

I made this recipe yesterday and added half a teaspoon of baking powder and it was demolished at our family dinner. It was fluffy and creamy and delish!
We have this every year at Thanksgiving. I'm like you, the turkey is my least favorite thing. Our corn pudding has saltines and condensed milk in it and no cornmeal so it is perhaps less bready than yours, but it looks about the same. It's amazing and I only make it once a year.
Can I use all frozen corn? If so how much? And can I blend the corn with all the ingredients till its smooth than bake? Thank you and love your recipes.

Aww I thought this was the recipe for the corn cake I had in Costa Rica, which had the texture and the look of a pudding... I've never seen it anywhere else..it was soooo good it's one of the best desserts I've had!
