- Corn Pudding
1 pint (2 cups) corn (fresh, canned, or frozen)
1 egg, slightly beaten
3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 Tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup sugar
Preheat oven to 400°. Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with non-stick spray.
If using frozen corn, thaw completely.
Drain corn, then in a large bowl mix with all other ingredients.
Pour mixture into prepared baking dish.
Bake 15 minutes then stir mixture away from sides of pan. Return to oven.
Bake another 15 minutes then stir away from sides of pan again.
Bake an additional 15 minutes (don’t stir this time). DO NOT OVER BAKE.
Serve hot.
NOTE: This recipe works well doubled and baked in a 9x13 inch baking dish but DO NOT increase baking time.

Very similar to what my family makes. My dad's family was from the Amish area of PA and the difference is the fresh corn was grated off the cobs, the eggs were separated and the egg whites beaten then folded in and cornstarch instead of flour and no mixing while baking! Love it, brings fond memories back!
Tell Tom my hubby laughs at me because I use my spatula to scrape EVERYTHING out of every container when cooking!!😉😆 looks delish yall... just how Momma made hers only she added nutmeg, it was my Popa's favorite side dish... we took it to many church events too! 💕💕💕 I really appreciate yalls channel.... reminds me of home!♥️🎄🎁🎅🙏🏻😇

My husband is from Richmond Va. They eat a lot of corn pudding. It is one of his most favorite dishes. His grandmothers was so good. Unfortunately she passed away before we got her recipe. We had a bumper crop of corn this year and have plenty of frozen. I am going to surprise him and fix this for thanksgiving. Thank you Tom and Melissa! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I do 1can corn with liquid, 1can cream corn, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup sour cream, salt and pepper to taste and 1 box Jiffy cornbread mix all dumped in a square baking dish. Stir everything together and bake according to box of jiffy. So easy. Less work then yours but maybe yours tastes better. Try mine. It's really good and less work.
That’s the recipe we use too! I’m going to try Tom’s. His looks like fresh corn!😁😁. Yum!
That is a delicious corn casserole, not a corn pudding. Both are delicious, but they are different recipes.
Made your corn pudding for our church ladies dinner on Friday and it was a big hit! I made a double batch and just finished off what little was left of it. Delicious!!!

I’m from the UK. I love watching US cooks (and learning about culinary cultures in different countries ) but I can’t believe how many savoury American recipes contain large amounts of sugar. Here in the UK our savoury dishes very rarely contain any sugar. If they do it is usually just a teaspoon or two with very acidic dishes

I had a great recipe from my aunt who was the first and only one I our family to make it. Everyone loved it.
She used to also make for breakfast a cream corn, whole corn and bacon side dish for breakfast. She always made it a few times when we went hunting. My Aunt had made us a hand made and sewn 30 x 30 foot hunting kitchen. We had a area to wash dishes two very old cabinets that sat on each wide of our propane stove and oven. We had a lot of luxurious of home. Some days especially the weekends we had almost 30 people at our camp for breakfast. When were out in the wilderness about 40 - 60 miles from anyone up on a mountain. First hunting week we stayed fron about 2 days before hunting season and stayed for 2 weeks. I always planed my 2 week vacation off work for those days. We had an absolute blast. We had great hunts, with everyone working together. We were happy to get at least a couple of deer any more was just a bonus. It was about hunting, family, and good times you never forget.
When I saw your recipe it brought me back to those days so very long ago. The kids now days have no clue what they have missed out on, just no clue. They will never no matter how hard they try have that kind of fun on a computer. Thank you for the recipe and the memories. I just wanted to tell you I lost my aunts recipe about 20 years ago and just can't find one like it. Since you cook a lot like her I am sure this will be 100% like or close to hers. All the womens on my mom's side of the family were exceptional cooks, especially my grandma. My dad said he was always going to buy her a resturant. However they worked to hard on their farm and all their cotton fields. My grandparents worked right along with their workers. They were not afraid of hard work.
