They need each other. It's pushing each other to the brink that will be remembered.
The best running always occurs between rivals that push each other. This is great for the sport and both women are fantastic.
This is Parker’s year to shine and show what she is capable of when healthy. As the 2 time SEC cross country champion, and 2022 NCAA runner-up, she has shown that she can consistently beat the tough Kenyans from Alabama.
Tuohy is her main competition, and I believe Valby beats her in the final. Hopefully they can push each other to bigger things in the future.
Parker is the real deal, and I've been waiting to see her become the dominant distance runner in the U.S. since her second place finish in the NCAA 5000m, 16 months ago. Injuries have prevented her emergence for 12 months, but I'm looking for her to claim some NCAA track records and unveil some shocking finishing speed this year. She's never shown her finishing speed potential on the track - yet. Sub 14:45 5000m is very possible, as well as similar results in the 1500m and 10000m.
Both are exceptional runners!
Brutal Weather Conditions.... these ladies are Valkyries... (& Record-Breakers).... Very inspirational
Excellent race.. I look forward to watching these 2 fine ladies dualling it out through cross county and through track season.
Parker was working off injuries, doing a lot of cross training not as many miles for the last couple of years. These two women will be fun to watch. This is going to be an ongoing story.
NCAA Title race will be fun to watch. Parker had a great day, Tuohy ok. Having run both OSU's course and Nuttycombe, Tuohy's 19:27 last year was somewhat more impressive than Parker's 19:17 given the brutal hills at OSU. Let alone 26 degrees and spotting Parker a football field. Women's American middle distance is in great hands going forward with these two. Health to both!!!!!!!!!
One of the great sporting duels between these two amazing athletes
Valby is a top notch runner and of course so is Tuohy, put them together and anything is possible. I wish the both the best and hope they stay injury free.
Parker Valby has been running very well and is impressive. Valby looks very strong and tough. She's likely to out run everyone and win more NCAA championships.
Valby was injured a lot last year she barely had any training compared to touhy Valby is taking the title this year fs
Valby was injured last year in cross country. She was still injured when she won the track championship in June.
Rooting for Parker here, certainly won't be easy as the Champs are always the toughest to dethrone.
Katelyn hasn't looked the same since she competed against International runners last summer.
One swallow doesn't make a summer. A brilliant run by Parker, but Katelyn was obviously not at peak form. It's looking as though this cross country will be one to remember thanks to these two phenomenal athletes. I'm still picking Katelyn Tuohy to come out on top.
What a great pair of runners.
Great rivalry for ladies XC
She peaked at just the right time. Nice job, Valby.
i would love to be my funny corky dorky self.... er? uh? i mean? be the authentic devil-james everyone loves.... but i am too busy to deal with mental-midget haters this morning i meant to say.... so i will keep it simple... & sound like all the mundane masses & simply say.... "oh wow... these ladies are manical-machines of the ravenous-runners" & leave it at that... because i sure as hell don't wanna jam up any simple minds.... HOWEVER... with that being said.... God-Bless not just My Parker & My Katelyn.... but god-bless all these ladies... they are the future of this great country & such a inspiration i mean
there both amazing runners and they feed of each other but at the end tuoy will have a better paste and body will have rested and she will show her power.
Babe alert, population Valbytown
Where can we hear the after race interviews?

Good racing.
As I have said in other forums, this is what we should expect from Parker when she is all in one piece. I have been saying Tuohy was not about to go full gas the first event of the fall season, but I didn't't realize it was Parker's first outing as well. I want to see what happens at ACCs and regionals. If KT wins both of those then I would give her even odds to beat Parker in the final, and perhaps more importantly, Hilda and Doris from Alabama. Doris Lemngole, the 21 year old Kenyan freshman who has been running in Europe is exceptionally fast, reportedly having logged a 14:40 on a road course in Lille, France in February. That is said to be a very fast course; still, if authenticated that time would presage an NCAA game changer.
Henes and Katelyn know exactly what they're doing. They have one goal: the national team championship, and if Nuttycombe means anything, it's that they have very stiff competition in NAU. If Tuohy picks up another individual, that's a cherry on top of the cake: repeating is not so easy and it's only been done three times since they went to 6k in 2000, and not by anybody in the last ten years. If State can line up a full-strength Tuohy, Kelsey, Tyynismaa (whom we haven't seen yet this year), Bush, recovered from whatever caused her to finish 30th at Joe Piane and DNF at Nuttycombe, and somebody like Leah Stephens as fifth guy in, they can beat NAU, narrowly. Unlike last year, 110 isn't going to win anything. I think the winner will go sub-60; maybe sub-50. They'll need a fifth guy who can score 30-ish, not 78 like Brooke did last year. In Brooke's defense, even though the Lobos' fifth guy in was Elise Thorner scoring 34 (40), Brooke's 78 (90) was the fastest fifth-in of the other 30 teams. In some respects, the 4th and 5th are more consequential than the low stick.
Valby looks exactly like last year, she was dominating and running all races at fast pace and leading from start to end. One race is nothing. It's Tuohy that looks off, and losing some of her superb. I wouldn't count her off for the finals. If she doesn't get Hurt, Tuohy will win again the NCAA CC finals.
😊
I hope it's Katelyn.
I expected it and predicted it.
PARADE!!! 🎉😮
😛😛😛😛😛😛
Do they drug-test these runners?
Yeah, at NCAA championships in Division I, II, and III, and year-round on campus in DI and DII programs
Check the steroids in Valby
Boo hiss. I love Katelyn 😢
