  • The 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championship showed one of the greatest rivalries ever seen in women's collegiate running in recent years. The best part about it is seeing all the races that lead up to it, and knowing about all the moments still to come! If you like the video you will enjoy your day x2 more! be kind in comments if digging into who's 'better' than who

Parker Valby is the better distance runner of the two. Valby dominated the 2023 Nuttycombe Invitational and the 2023 NCAA Cross Country championships. Valby easily beat Tuohy in both races. Valby holds the NCAA record for the indoor 5000 meters. Also, Valby trains harder than any other runner in the NCAA.

at the end of the 2023 season you would be right . but you could have said the same thing at the end of 2023 about tuohy . 2024 could go back and forth between the two . i'm sure we'll have many years to cheer them both on .

Does Valby have a good change of pace sprint? I don't know that answer....haven't seen one online yet. Touhy seems to have good ending speed. In top flight running....you need finishing speed.

I can't wait to see what happen during outdoor season, particularly after KT has logged some training at altitude. Also, in a recent, enigmatic Instagram post she mentions 'getting healthy'. I didn't know she was unhealthy. My gut feeling is that Tuohy will improve on her 5000 time and get below 15:00 while Parker will be right around there too. Keep in mind, that Boston NB track is considered to be the fastest in the world and I doubt she will get down to her indoor time. Also, it's no secret Katelyn is focused on the Olympic Trials, which, by the way, I think is out of reach for both, in the 5000 at least. Tuohy entered college as the greatest girl cross runner of all time and the best track runner of her generation behind Mary Cain. Parker has been there all along but was never at Tuohy's level. If she can stay healthy for a full season we may see what her real potential is. Note that in college neither Monson, Cranny, Andrews, Henes nor St. Pierre really got close to what they are achieving as pros.

Touhy is better in 2022. Valby is better in 2023. We will see what happens in 2024

Valby is 5K and 10K NCAA record holder. And will break KT's 3K record time outdoors. Valby is the better runner.
