Wow, the comparison with the Endor Han is incredible. I think I am the category of being happy with this, but I agree an all new Han is needed for ANH. Cheers
Cutting costs is awful when it comes to figures like this. It was an opportunity to give us a definitive han solo from like what, 10 year sculpt?
Great video Bossk! I 100% agree with you, kit bashes are fine but "hero characters" should get the best of the best new. Can't wait to get this Han in hand.
For all the effort they’ve put on Vader, it IS disappointing that the same can’t be done for other core/hero characters… hopefully this one serves as a lesson.
Don’t you guys think that his left hand should be more relax or fist hand? I think that every single-handed-weapon character should’ve done this, since it’s awkward to pose with that C hand gesture on the opposite side. Anyway, great review BB!
Not paying $17 USD for bad kit bashes. Hasbro needs to be investing in new tooling and creating definitive figures.
Totally agree that the main characters should be screen accurate and brand new sculpts.
I don't mind not having rocker ankles for me a lot of characters because of how the rocker ankles is cut makes it look like they're wearing slippers with slip on boots that start at the ankle. once you see it you can't unsee it, then all your action figures are wearing slippers. it's really noticeable and really bad on certain characters depending on the color and or Texture

Oof. Not a fan of the split in the torso but that is just preference. The deal breaker for me is the lack of rocker ankles. As an opener who is not in a rush, I will just wait for the eventual ANH Han… especially at $17 USD a pop.
Agree 100% with everything you said here. Alden Ehrenreich is a good deal shorter than Harrison Ford so they had to make up the extra height by extending the torso, resulting in some pretty weird proportions. Using parts modelled from another actor altogether is inexcusable for a main character in a premium collector line. The day Hasbro can't sell action figures of an icon like Han Solo is the day they should get out of the business altogether, so no expense should have been spared in nailing the sculpt. But oh wait, gotta maximise those profits for the shareholders
Hasbro is being cheap with a premium line like TVC. They're spending more focus and money on the 6 inch scale and I don't get it. Most people want 3.75 inch scale.

@@lamarravery4094 It's because of Marvel Legends being a six-inch line. The suits want all their action figures to be in scale with each other, because they think that multi-franchise collecting will be more profitable for them. The only problem is that nobody who actually buys action figures collects like that

I’m still going to hold my judgement until I have this in hand, but here’s my initial thoughts after seeing your review. The torso is too long. Others say the legs are too short, but I think the proportionality is thrown off by the long torso. I can’t tell if it’s long because of the torso split or the vest is too short, or both maybe. Also the face sculpt looks off to me because it seems too soft. It’s the eyebrows to me…there’s maybe just a slight lack of face print/paint app shadowing needed on the face to better define it and make it more like Harrison Ford. The bones seem to be there, but could have been more defined by heavier paint application possibly. To me though, still a good iteration to make a better Han than what we already have.
I always liked the Endor Solo the most out of my collection in the 80s. That was his best version back in the days. This is also decent.

Mint on card collectors are going to love this - looks awesome. But you’re 💯 right to call for all new sculpts on the core heroes - if there’s any hope of them listening to this, then you are it mate👍

It’s frustrating that they didn’t give us a new and 100% correct sculpt, but this is just so much better than what we have and I am excited to get one!!!

Great vid Tim! I’m keen to see how the figure looks without the vest and if the holster comes off easy enough to enable an upgraded carbonite Han for the Skiff.
I hope someone actually mentions this to Hasbro at the next event. Would definitely like to hear their reasoning for pumping out a "half ass" figure to it populace.
I wonder if this is a reaction to the last Lando they made from the ground up but sat on shelves (because they made so many)?
That Lando was perfect though. They just made too many and I bought a lot of those from clearance. Hasbro did a half ass job on this one, they definitely could've made a definitive Endor Han.
I don't like Torso splits either.
I don't get hot the torso cut is so massive when the figure they took the lower half from had a fairly seamless torso cut. It's like they were going to do a new lower half and then couldn't be bothered and just used existing parts.

Han doesn't need that mid torso articulation. That was an unnecessary expense.

I hope this new Han Solo has a non-loose holster because that is technically a nightmare and the current one that I own I never got to have a vintage collection Han Solo until this year and I ordered one from the Hasbro Pulse app but what I did not expect is a loose ulster and hopefully they fix that one with that handsaw
I bought this figure no box but a euro each was cool
I fall more into the type that doesn't get too deep into the details and I'm more of a MOC collector so I love this. The card is beautiful and the face looks really good. I can definitely see the criticisms though.
I think this is a great figure. The only side really was the outdated hip articulation.
The card back is my issue. If its not in the movie then it shouldn't be in the main line. Maybe come with a sticker like luke. Leia, and lando. You are right, core characters shouldn't be ground up new. Keep it up.
I wonder whether Chris at Bantha skull managed to make it through watching this video and/or how many times he had to compose himself to do so!! 😀😂😂😂. Personally, I think I can just about accept it, given how I might pose the figure - definite upgrade on the old one 😀
An improvement but still not great.
I like swivel half torso for the poseability, although i feel they didnt sculpt the two in a way that aligns well and yea i think its added an extra mm to the torso that throws the proportion as well does the narrowness of the waist and legs, which presumably they are doing because they think they need to allow for the gun holster but as there kitbashing that is ultimately going to throw the overall proportions.
At least they got the head better
Happy enough to just pick this up at Target for $4.49, no way I'm paying full price anymore with all of the reuse and mediocrity.

Not a hardcore collector but fresh out of the package I'm so dissapointed with the last of any real poseability. Especially compared to the Mandalorian Luke Skywalker (which is basically just a ROTJ figure). I'm still finding new ways to display him. I could barely get this one to stand up at all.
I'm not really one who criticises minor details but I'm not keen on this figure. I REALLY don't like the torso split (at least with Tibidon Station Ben Kenobi the soft goods hide it) and I don't see Harrison Ford's likeness at all. Despite its faults, the split was better placed on the Endor Han and I even think it looks more like Ford. Thanks for the review!

I'm with you Tim in that I think this figure is more than good enough and definitely a huge improvement over previous versions. I'd prefer they spend the money for new tooling on other characters. I'd much rather have an all new Dooku, Padme, Farmboy Luke or Mon Mothma or any other number of characters from throughout the saga that need updated or have never been in TVC. I know this may not be the most accurate but it does what it needs to do and will look great with my Endor bunker.
So Tim, in the apparently never ending quest/journey for the "perfect versions" of these characters - do you think that the quest for Endor Han should stop with this one? Are there any parts that you would be happy with taking from this figure to the future next-version of this particular version of Han? Would we as a fandom be better served if we call this one "good enough" and ask Hasbro to move on with other figures?

The Hasbro Star Wars team is so cheap it's pretty astounding and insulting.
Disappointed with this figure for all the reasons you pointed out. I had high hopes but receiving it today…..what a let down. He also can’t sit in the BMF because his holster is glued to his leg and won’t bend. The wait continues for decent core characters.

Ill be honest, i opened this today, pretty disappointed, the head gets a 6 or 7 out of 10 ( theres better out there, but in all fairness Ford's face is a difficult one to get perfect) the lack of rocker ankles and particularly no ball on the wrist, i really struggle find many good points outside of the head and decent shirt/ waistcoat. Very disappointed
Its better for in box collectors, bit disappointing and yes why are we getting new molds of backgroudn charcters, then Han who is everyones favourite is kinda shoddy

TVC release, I do like the cardback, but, that's about it, while it's better than the Endor Han I still don't think it looks anything like Solo/Ford, just seeing that Endor Han figure again in this video it looks like poor old Han has got some kind of terrible illness with that shocking headsculpt😱
Easily the figure I want the most out of this wave is the re-issue Weequay as I don't have that one and always enjoy the ROTJ Jabba/alien characters, apart from that only the Vader is a possibilty but even with the Vader I feel the best thing is the cardback, not totally sold on the headsculpt myself, not the worst but not that good either🤔

This figure is absolute garbage. I am nothing short of disgusted at Hasbro for this monstrosity. We deserved a new Han figure with 100% All-New Tooling and all of the latest details and articulation. Instead we got another lazy and cheap retool for an iconic OT franchise character while forgettable new media characters get all-new tooling. This is Unacceptable. ANH Han NEEDS to be 100% ALL-NEW!
Absolutely crap sculpt. There are no redeeming qualities to this one.
