Crazy prices! Basically Hasbro sell mini movie sets and ships to collectors with plenty of cash. It’s not like the old days with affordable toys.

into these things - And excuse this by saying, "Oh, that's because it's not some kids toy - It's a quality model for serious collectors .." in other words "We'll give you less and charge you more".

In the few years after the sail barge was released the amount of stuff related to the first third of ROTJ a was immense. I’m hoping for the same here in terms of adjacent figures, dioramas etc.

If it comes with 6 or 8 figures, that’s a good price point. What could the tiers be?? I like the deluxe version being an extra set of carded figures!!!
I hope there will be better paint jobs and there is more not shown to be included - i was expecting more - it should have lights and sounds hopefully

Extremely excited about the Mos Eisley Cantina Haslab. Equally excited about the figures that will come with it as unlocks and also figures that will be released next year to support it. Pretty much means that we will definitely be getting a Hammerhead next year!

Theres a part of me that thinks this leak will help them refine the offer based on feedback in the community. When the Ghost details were leaked, there was pushback on the price and then the price was lower on release. There are bits of it I really like but it looks unfinished in terms of a ceiling, external building features and a floor. Perhaps these images were early mock ups and the product has been refined more.
When you look at the structure of this thing, it actually looks like it is supposed to be a model of the actual set.
The way that 'booth', nearest the entrance, just sits there on an angle. There is no architectural structure going on.
It does not link to the other booths, in any sensible way. It seems to be presented just as a facade, as it would have been set up on the actual sound stage.
Even those exterior 'boards' on the tops of the domed areas, only make sense as a structure made by carpenters. This is very odd. If they have really decided to create the cantina in that form, that is truly bizarre.
The pictures I've seen so far look like an unfinished version or prototype, probably used for testing the page layout and functionality. I'm guessing the test page accidentally got pushed up to the live site instead of the development site (it happens) and that's why it was taken down quickly.
As far as how the cantina looks, I'll wait until we see the final/official pictures before making a judgment about it.

IMO should open up into a playset and when you close it turn into the outside of the cantina. Much like the old Fischer Price Sesame Street playset.

The Boba Fett (Jabba’s) Throne Room was $249 with one carded figure. Stands to reason this would be a lot more.
Perhaps the deluxe has lights and sounds? I think Wuher and Chalmun will be included. I hope also the Tonnika sisters. I do hope this is modular enough and not too tall to sort of fix in a detolf or perhaps spread out over two shelves. It looks like it has no exterior. Would be nice if they at least gave it the outer wall and entrance.
Chalmun is an Expanded Universe creation. I could do without the inclusion. This has to remain ANH canon appearances

I hope it is lighted like the Gi joe classified haslabs. It also should include the flooring too especially if those are the prices. Hopefully it has an exterior as well so the landspeeder can be parked nearby on a shelf. I'm excited! Thank you BB!

The Cantina should be treated like Jabba’s Palace. Released in segments: the Trophy Wall, and the Throne Room, and hopefully one day a section for the band and a Rancor pit.
Same with the Cantina: release in affordable modular segments. Haslab’s should be reserved for impossibly big sets and ships like The Death Star (a mix of sections from DS1 and DS2) or the Star Destroyer, or for KOTOR fans to hype up Revan content, The Ebon Hawk which is similar to the Falcon and the Ghost in shape and design
I 100% agree with all your comments bar the idea of making the haslab vehicle from a computer game I’m not feeling that at all but the rest I am
They’ve tried releasing it modularly in the past, and all that came of it was a bar with no dispenser island in the middle.
$500 seems a bit ludicrous. That doesn't compare to the sail barge. That would be close to $800 Canadian. No way I'm paying that kind of price for something that's about the same as 2 tantive playsets. I hope this isn't the actual price.
The Barge had 1 figure. If rumours are true then this has 6 and apparently lots of new tooling. That’s the difference.
Your Tantive playsets must be far more impressive than the ones I found. Mine didn't come with furniture and didn't even light up.
@@BossksBounty But if Hasbro is true to form the figures will be released on card later, maybe slight tweak like they did with the Ghost crew, Razor Crest. The Haslab doesn't pay for new figure tooling but just a paint or card variant.
Due to soaring costs of production and shipping costs since then, the Barge would likely be around $800+ if it was a Haslab today. Let’s remember that funded six years ago now, back when regular carded figures were $12.99 USD, now they’re $16.99 😂

I’m happy it’s the Cantina (if true, but looks to be). Definitely glad to get anything from the first Star Wars movie. If you compare it to the Jabba Palace playset, it looks a good bit bigger and more intricate than that one so the price looks justifiable from the standpoint of how much these things cost in general. Hopefully enough people agree. Can’t wait for the details.
Also, since it was originally planned to go live by now, it may have just been on a timed release for production and someone forgot to kill it when the launch was postponed.
People saying $400 for this are right unless we get lots of exclusive figures. Bobba's (Jabba's) Throne Room was only around $230. The Cantina could have been done as a modular series of sets. A main Bar with Wuher, then separate Alcoves each with a different pack in figure .People could build their own Cantina at any size and with the parts they wanted. They could even release accessory sets to compliment it so you could create different Cantinas. Accessory sets could even bring back the old Mail-away promos which we all loved. Smaller, cheaper sets would mean that fans without huge wallets aren't excluded. Some people don't have the space or even the money for a one-shot large Cantina. Then they could have given us the Marauder or a Sandcrawler.
Little hesitant about leak since I've never known any haslab to have 2 price points or sell 2 verisons of a project. Whether it's been star wars, transformers, gijoe, ghostbusters, etc. Always had a flat price and unlockable tiers based on how many backers.
Always be hesitant until something is officially revealed.

I'm just glad TVC is getting another Haslab. I don't even have room for this but I will be backing it. I thinks its alright, with the rumored 8 figures($145) 500 isn't too bad. 500 - 145 = $355. With lights and sounds this thing is sure to be bad ass. Thanks for reporting on this BB!

While I'm disappointed the HasLab isn't the Marauder, I am glad that you Bossk and the rest of the OT collectors in the community get something you've obviously wanted for such a long time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys that the cantina is everything you've wanted!! Now to hope they do ANOTHER TVC HasLab next year so we can finally get the Batch
Yes, we need the Marauder and the Batch. There's no reason why Hasbro can't also give us the Marauder too.
Honestly? Screw the Bad Batch. Shitty show that most fans don't care for. With the fact we don't have all the major characters from the live action shows yet, that should be more of a priority than anything animated.
I’m not sure that the Marauder would fund. When it comes to Haslabs, they really need to go with as broad appeal as they can, I feel like the Marauder is just a bit too niche to fund. Something like the U-Wing I think would have a better shot.
Your post is nice and positive which is why I hesitate to say this, but I can't imagine them ever doing the Marauder in any form, it doesn't have nearly the support and popularity to justify it.
Sandcrawler is a good bet, too. A couple of newly molded Jawas on new cards, maybe even some droids, and a new carded Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru!
Even my cynical self thought it would be about 4, maybe 5 figures tops. But 8?! That’s about $150 worth in figures. Subtract that from the highest price and I think it’s pretty fair.
Here’s to hoping for Wuher, Tonnika, Greedo, Hammerhead, Boshek, maybe the Devarian and Ketwol!

I don’t think it’s 8 - but still a figure in a low production run costs a lot more than a mainline so this will be factored into the price
This would be a good opportunity to get the Tonnikas. They will probably be the last tiers too. We'll have to buy 30,000 of them, lol.

I can guarantee it will not come with 2x of any figure. The 2nd $100 upgrade option may just be 3 additional booth and figures in my opinion. Wurher for sure included with base option.

I'm guessing the price difference is between the partial cantina (as seen in the primary image) and a complete cantina (with the opposite wall and alcoves).
I wouldn't put it past Hasbro. I can see one of the stretch goals being a larger alcove with the model nodes included

I’m glad other fans are getting a piece they want! But I was really hoping the bad batch would have gotten a Haslab or whatever it would have been. It just would have been made sense and would have helped with the major Bad Batch demand! Can’t wait to see what figures they choose for this cantina tho!
I’m late to the party, so I’m sure this has been said- I speculate a part of the extra $100 for Deluxe may be lights/lighting. That stuff can be expensive, but really adds to the look and feel…

I’m actually totally good with half a playset. It looks like the base version might be the whole bar, but only one wall of alcoves. That would be perfect for me. I don’t need the other wall.
I feel that the price should be for the whole cantina, and the higher price be for previous made cantina patrons like Trinto, leesub and Kalfas. If you already have them then no need to force people for extra, but if you don’t then it would be a nice option. Then regardless of option chosen there will still be the new figure pack ins and stretch goals. The extra price should just be extra to the cantina.
Looks like the central bar and the seats at 1 and 2oclock are the base package and the stairs/entry is the deluxe package. You can see the seem at 12oclock.
I'm completely stoked! We've backed three amazing HasLab ships, it's definitely time to expand horizons. Hasbro has proven that they can do this type of world building diorama well. Boba Fett's throne room is proof of that. I am beside myself with anticipation.
Time for Tonnika! I hope like YakeFace was, and even with the Ghost, whatever figures they have exclusive are also made available for separate purchase, whether it be main line or whatever method. Because as you stated, I will buy one to keep and one to open like I do with all Haslabs, but I also need a set of carded figures and loose figures. If they don't account for that, they're going to leave a lot of money on the table that will go to the secondary market for collectors like me that wants a MOC cantina, and MOC carded figures from the cantina.
Hasbro are going to pull a "ghost" here and include a brand new Han and Luke pack in. I can feel it.
Calling it now. The deluxe set will included fully decored and weathered exterior panels and 10 carded figures including a newly tooled luke and han and other assorted aliens. The basic will have a single carded Wuher figure and one exterior panel. The unlocks will be tonika sisters at tier one, Uzbekian speeder and moisture vaporator for external world building and third unlock with be a newly tooled garindan or an extra alcove for the cantina band.
I can see the set having lights around the bar and mini lights for the tables and a cool blue light for the security system as luke and obi wan enter.
So this gets leaked a few days after May the 4th..wonder why this couldn't of been announced last week. Still excited!! Two Deluxe please
They need to just go ahead and acknowledge it now at minimum or just launch it and move on. Ignoring this won’t do any favors and will only make speculation worse.
And lol, they DO have a dev or test site. I remember how the Reva lightsaber was leaked because they had it up plain as day on the test site. Someone at Pulse really screwed up on this one.
I'm sure they did it on purpose to gauge fan reaction to the price levels.

The CMS is probably hooked up to a preview site but stuff gets accidentally published on websites by all the time. What's really annoying here is that this person took a picture of their computer with their phone instead of taking a screenshot.
I saw another screenshot that suggests the deluxe version contains the other side of alcoves including a stage for the band. It also mentions 3 included figures and three stretch goal figures. 8 other figures are mentioned, which I assume will be in the form of two 4-packs sold outside of the HasLab and demonstrating that commitment to world building for this playset. I would expect the ANH mains that everyone have been asking for will also be released individually. The idea of 14 Cantina patrons to go with this is jaw dropping and exciting. I’m very happy that the HasLab is the Cantina. The Tonnika Sisters have been my most wanted figures for nearly 30 years, so if I finally get them and 12 other Cantina characters, for me everything in TVC after this will be icing on the cake. If another 3.75” figure was never made after this, I’d still feel satisfied.

Knowing Hasbro, the deluxe probably includes the 8 Modal Nodes! The base is no figures.

This definitely wasn’t intentional. Someone would have got taken to task for this. Especially after they made such a point of holding it back. That said, I’m in!
The bad batch marauder ship and crew would be nice , bit like the ghost and crew
I just want them to finish what they started with making us TVC Hunter and all I need at this point is just put my hope in Hasbro for them to make us a full The Bad Batch crew we are still missing, including Omega from any season because I really don't even care at this point and I hope they make Imperial armor version of Crosshair also since his The Black Series version doesn't look screen accurate and I personally don't really like the idea about wasting my money for getting the big starship like The Marauder just so I can finally complete the rest of Bad Batch team to being completely honest.
I agreed with you BB, it could’ve been a marketing strategy. They might done this to monitor the hype among the community since this is the first Haslab playset.

Was so obvious it was going to be the cantina! Was hoping it would have more parts like the Lego version which looks awesome!! Having outter walls would have been nice. Tonnika sisters have to be a shoe in to be part of the tiers!
for 500 you can buy a 3d printer and print all the playsets
How much are the 3D files? How much is paint? How are your artistic and electrical skills? What's your time worth to you?

I'm not to happy it's the cantina but it is what it is, if the deluxe comes with lights and sounds maybe and uncarded versions of the carded figures I could definitely be on board with that!!
I think it looks freaking great. I also was hoping for the Cantina, and would have passed on an Ewok Village, or anything Bad Batch-related (like I passed on the Ghost). It does look modular, and it looks like there's a lot going on with the architecture and setup possibilities. I KNEW the price was gonna be $399, so no surprise there at all. Personally I think it's priced pretty well, especially since we haven't seen what props & accessories it comes with (like the throne room that had about 100 loose pieces to it), what the paint apps look like, and what figures it automatically comes with (I'd assume at least one). Plus we haven't seen any stretch goals or unlocks yet. Given all the possibilities, I would imagine there are a fair amount of figures that are going to be attached to this. I also am very curious to see what the difference is between "base" and "deluxe".
I very balanced view there mate. I dont understand how people can be negative without seeing what the deal is. I mean what if it comes with 6 figures. Those alone will count a lot towards the value due to the low production run. Thats the problem with leaks the full details arent there and we end up speculating. Hurry up Hasbro!

A guess - Hasbro prolly uses some content publication tool where it's easy to accidentally publish to the wrong target (dev/stage/qa/prod environments etc.). I don't know how common the leaks are, but if it's uncommon then they probably won't spend the time and/or money to prevent accidents like that from happening again (assuming the leak was an accident, and if it's an internal tool), or complain to their software vendor about it.
Yeah it's all over the internet! Unbelievable. I wonder who/what they are going to blame this debacle on?

I've got all the cantina aliens Hasbro produced, along with a lot of custom cantina patrons. On the fence whether I would want to buy this or 3D print the cantina. Regardless, I'm happy to see this set being produced. Whenever we get more information, I'll consider buying this. Possibly buying two of them because I also like to buy and make diorama sets.
It's going to look great in my trailer 😅 but given the history of Hasbro and their idea of "deluxe" is unsettling
My guess is the deluxe is with accent lighting and possibly a speaker over the bandstand that plays the cantina song.
How we wish. Hasbro are too cheap. They won't risk light and sounds due to the rate of returns from defective units. This is why Modern TVC don't have lights and sounds. You'll be lucky to get some more hollow plastic walls and some cups.
Certainly a nice first attempt or "prototype" - at least I hope it is. I don't see a spot for the band to perform & the whole thing needs weathering/paint. Space in general is tight - the walkway between the bar & the booths is crowded & it looks challenging to get figures into the booths. The ceiling above the bar seems to make it difficult to get figures in there as well. In general, it looks underscaled - like the Han Solo/Carbonite wall set. I look forward to seeing the final result though.

The deluxe may have some additional parts, the all Cantina like we know it. For me, the carted figures will be part of it. No loose.
QFNW: I know you’re suffering from Mandalorian fatigue but I’m a Mando only collector which makes it more manageable and a friend got me back into collecting with the Razer crest. Just re watching season 3 of Mando and wondered if you’d like to see a 4 pack of the Gorian Shand pirates. There are four different species: trandoshan, Quarren, Klatoonian and Nikto. They would suit the upcoming Haslab Cantina in terms of scum and villainy don’t you think? Thoughts…

Thrilled it's the Cantina and I'm definitely hoping that the included figures are some all-new never before released figures or serious upgrades to ones we've already got. Tonnika Sisters, Tzizvvt, Ellorrs Madak and Baniss Keeg, Arliel Schous, and what would be a Cantina without its bartender? It's time for an all-new Wuher too. The way I see it, if they're going to charge the price they're asking, it's GOTTA come with a bunch of figures we don't already have to entice us and to justify the price. I'd also hope that they'd do the "Cantina four" in some sort of extra pack through pulse. Greedo, Snags, Hammerhead, and Walrusman could all use updates and we'd (or most of us) would all buy 'em without hesitation - but I don't want to see THEM as the pack-in figures. If that were to happen, even as much as I absolutely love those characters, I'd be really disappointed that they missed such a huge and long awaited opportunity to give us some more characters from the Cantina. As far as never before released figures go and resculpts, there's easily 30+ figures they could do to support this thing. I think it looks excellent! Happy to see it and think it makes the most sense as an offering. Then a Death Star Playset, and then an Imperial Shuttle.. 😅

What a fiasco! after delaying it as well! Ridiculous!! Nevertheless great to see it at last, I'd love to have one, not sure I have the room though...
I'm confident this HasLab is the Cantina. But I can't see Hasbro making this mistake of putting it on their website and then taking it down. Why would they do that? They just delayed it. And the reason I think they delayed it is because they're annoyed (furious?) that everyone knows it's the Cantina. I can't see this being true. And $400 - $500? That's a lot.
I'd be happy with everything except the pricing, it would be the most expensive Haslab since the Sail Barge. I'm sure they will be tons of props, etc. in the set, but $399 for what amounts to maybe x5 $50 Navaro Cantinas worth of plastic?! Yikes. It would have to come with 10 figures minimum to make up the $150 difference, and that's just the base offering. If we are lucky, those were just place holder prices, pending final decisions, and the whole thing will be no more then $250-300.
For that price it should come with all the cantina figures in the vintage collection form plus them two twin chicks that hasbro didn't want too make 💯plus i got all the original cantina figures but opened ,an i all ways wanted that cantina updated for my vintage collection 💯

I like the layout and openness for dio and play.
The exposed tops of the booths and entrance look unfinished though. I feel it needs something to cover that and the entrance structure. I also don’t like the structure above the actual bar. This will be displayed by most where you will look down upon it and that structure obscures quite a bit of the view.
On top of that $400-$500 does not feel like a good value from what I see. It’s hard to tell from the low res photos but there doesn’t appear to be much paint. Add 6-8 very unique figure sculpts would make me feel more comfortable at these prices. But they would have to blow me away. Lak Sivrak being one.

I ended up piecing out a 3D printed cantina for well under what this thing is going to cost after taxes and shipping. (As of right now, not knowing everything we get) Hasbro is nuts for a $400 -$500 price tag. I guess I'll wait and see what all it comes with but my 3D printed version will be just fine I'm guessing.
I actually don't think this looks that bad! I'll definitely back one up for sure. I do hope that Hasbro will reissue some of the Legacy Collection Cantina Aliens. I'm still looking for Leesub Sirln and boy, the prices for that figure will be skyrocketing after this...
I have zero experience with website development or anything related to it, so this is potentially really dumb, but I wonder if yesterday was the scheduled launch date where the page went live automatically and they just didn't think to change it beforehand? Either that or maybe Hasbro's throwing us a bone after the major backlash last week

Being I couldn’t afford Jabba’s there’s no way I’ll be able to afford this. But, it looks sick, just wish they had like a discounted playset that could stand alone while adding onto the haslab. That way collectors like myself could get a standalone “mini” playset while at the same time all you who can afford them have an add on/more options how to display. KEY THING is a cheaper price on a playset that can stand on its own 2feet alone AND a more premium set for all the what I think must be a ton of oil tycoons buying these yr after yr 😅

For an extra $100, the deluxe set is going to come with a floor.

IF its real, I doubt it will fund. With vehicles you can get the action figure collectors as well as the general star wars collectors. I don't collect figures but the vehicles still fit as scale models in my collection. This has no place in my (and I assume most, non figure collectors) collection. Really cuts the customer pool by a large amount. Just make the Shuttle that everyone wants.
I like that it is the Cantina, but I hope that no figures are exclusive to the set.
Bobas throne was only 250 so I imagine it must be bigger with 3 or 4 characters max
Oh well... Saved me a few hundred quid.
Base no figures, Deluxe figures are my guess.
