    The plastic back is a huge bonus personally. I'd much rather have a back that is unlikely to crack/shatter/scratch. Plus no fingerprint smudges.

      @@anferneehernandez1343 yup, got one. But if you are going to put a case on it, what purpose does the glass black serve anyway? You just proved my point as to why the glass back is inferior to the plastic one. Also my S10 had the rear glass crack even with a cover. Was a nice surprise when I took the cover off to trade in the phone. Other than the Crack behind the case there was no visible damage to the phone

      @Holdin Worley the case is to keep the phone protected from cracking,shattering or scratching. I mean u bought a $1400 phone. You atleast wanna keep something like that in pristine condition and although it may ruin the phone for looking bulky. You can atleast say yeah its safe in the case.

      The Note 20 is the most useless phone of 2020 as a $1000 phone with no 120Hz refresh rate, worse camera than the Ultra and plastic back is nothing but a waste of money.

    Note20 all the way! Why?
    - No need 108mp camera
    - No need 120hz refresh rate
    - Don't like the curved screen
    That's it, is it worth it to pay extra 300$ for that? For me, no.

      @Ericko I agree. I had the 20 Ultra and 20 and kept the 20. Ultra was too big and bulky and the display quality is not very good for a Note series. Even though the 20 is 1080p and no 120hz the color reproduction and display calibration is so much better! Also the curves on the Ultra distorted the display much worse than previous notes. I also have the S20+ and its display is far superior to the Note 20 Ultra.

    Companies nowadays have incredible marketing strategies.. we _actually believe_ that we need a phone that costs *one thousand, three hundred dollars*
    I love all things tech, but c'mon people this is getting ridiculous!
    You can buy a refurbished Galaxy Note 9 for _under_ $300.00....
    What can you do on the Note 20 Ultra that you can't do on the GN 8? There might be a few gimmicky things, but 90% of people will not be able to tell the difference.
    Don't be fooled by the 120Hz screens! Seriously.. Don't be fooled.. It's a gimmick, I've had one, it's smooth yes, but it only makes the phone _feel_ faster.. it does not give any performance benefits.
    Those that say they are a must-have and that they are the best thing since sliced bread have generally bought one, and are subconsciously attempting to justify to themselves why they spent a months salary on a phone.
    Imagine a household with 4 people buying these new phones, you're taking about a 5K spend...
    Grabbing one on a monthly plan with your carrier just spreads out the exorbitant price over 2 years..
    I bought a _used_ Galaxy Note 10+ 5g for £290.00 of eBay. It has a slightly cracked screen that doesent affect use in any way at all - that was a good deal, but paying full whack?? No way.
    The more we buy these hugely expensive phones the more the manufacturers will make and the higher prices they will charge.

    I've been a diehard Note-only user since the Note 3. I've always loved these devices, and never would have imagined switching off of them.
    But Samsung is shooting themselves in the foot by only giving major updates to their flagship devices for 2 years (recently updated to 3 years for some devices). My Note 9 is already outside that window. It still works flawlessly and has great hardware which is still futureproof two years later. But the lack of future updates means that my Note 9 will gradually fall behind and not have modern software features anymore, despite absolutely having the hardware capability for it. What's the point of buying a futureproof flagship phone that should be viable for 4-5 years if support gets dropped for it after 2?
    Meanwhile, Apple has been supporting iPhones for 4-5+ years, which is a huge selling point, refreshing phones even as far back as the original SE with iOS 14 to keep them as modern as possible. So while I like Note devices and Android better than iPhones and iOS, I'll likely be converting after 7+ years of happily using Notes.

    • @1kitts
      @1kitts 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a huge point. I looooove the Samsung Note series too. When I buy a phone, I keep it for 3 to 5 years! Why buy such an expensive top of the line phone to change it every year?

      @AkashYadav-kp6hi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What your Note 9 can do with Android 10, OneUI 2.5, Apple cannot even imagine with iOS 16 too.
      Please don't fall for the "Major OS Update" by Apple. It took them 14 iterations to get Widgets which Android had after 4.0.
      Note 9 is a 2018 flagship and you will still get 1 year more of security update plus may be more.
      Android 11 is not a massive change actually so you won't even miss it. Imagine this, my LG's last update came in May 2019. It is off LG support for the past 1.5 years and still works well. Instead of that, you can run through the security update cycle of Note 9 and then make a good switch to a real 5G phone when the infra supports it.

    • @MichaelCorleone8192-h2i
      @MichaelCorleone8192-h2i 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course, the reason for this is that Apple makes money from it's software, so it's worthwhile for them to support old phones. Samsung, not so much--their money comes from selling hardware.
      Samsung should really cut a deal with Google to get a piece of that pie so it will have incentive to support older phones.

    Well Ho Ho Ho Samsung. I got a Note 20 Ultra for Xmas. That's $1400 phone. I purchased this from Best Buy and got a few cases to try out. THE VERY FIRST TIME I put phone in the case, the little bit of stress that the phone underwent cracked the front class from center right to center bottom!
    The phone works fine, you can't really see the crack unless you hold the phone at a certain angle but you can feel it. It's a 1400 dollar phone and you can't put a case on it? God forbid it should every be dropped.
    Called Samsung customer support and of course they couldn't care less. "so sorry but we don't cover physical damage". Well, I came back to Samsung after 4 years with an LG that cost about half of what this phone costs. My LG never had a single issue, I came back to Samsung specifically for the "pen". This is obviously a quality control issue. There are hundreds of thousands of these out there and I've not read any other complaints about this issue. Yes people have broken screens but they dropped the phone or ran over it with a semi-tractor trailer. I simply put a case on my phone in front of a room full of people who all witnessed the incident.
    I'll be writing Samsung about this and I'll be posting this comment in EVERY SINGLE YOU TUBE reviewers video. This is completely unwarranted baloney that should NEVER be able to go unaddressed. This is an abusive mistreatment of a customer on the part of a company that is simply unwilling to acknowledge that it might actually have screwed up.
    BUYER BEWARE: If you're thinking of buying a NOTE 20 ULTRA don't even think about putting a standard case on it.

    i am a long time Galaxy S series fan and i last owned the S9 +. that being said i just upgraded to the Note 20 Ultra and i think ill go with the Note series from now on. theyre very similar to the Galaxy series but they seem a little more practical and business-like in their approach. also, although i know i have it, i very rarely use my S-Pen, but i still love the phone itself.

Spent all week fine tuning it and yesterday after nearly 2 days of use I had over 12 hours of screen on time, that was mainly you tube and Web surfing with a little camera work. That was at 1440p 60hz. In medium to heavy use I expect more like 7/9 hours. Some people reporting really terrible battery life, more so for people that own the unit with the exynos chipset.

    I don't understand why people say why pay $1000 for plastic back? How many people use a phone without a back cover is probably 10% so this isn't the good reason for not buying or considering. In my opinion
    1- some people love to buy the most expensive one.
    2- The choices of the people can be different. Some people love photography most for them to pay $300 extra doesn't matter because they need a good camera, but for some people the camera is just an extra feature so paying $ 300 for a camera and glass back is not reasonable.
    3- as for the 120 refresh rate if someone is a busy person who only uses the phone as a phone then it doesn't matter, however if someone loves gaming or watching movies or videos on their phone then that's another story.
    So you are getting a decent phone in $1000 not just plastic back however if you want to use it in other way then just pay extra $300 and get another one both are decent phones it doesn't matter what type of back they have what matters is what they have in front and inside.

      gg2log You can easily get another 3-4 years of usage from older Exynos phones by rooting them and flashing a custom ROM, whereas Snapdragon phones will stop receiving updates after 3 years, and you can't even take advantage of the hardware when Samsung stops supporting them.
      If you change phones every 3 to 4 years and want the best performance possible, get a Snapdragon Galaxy.
      If you plan to keep your phone for 7-8 years, get an Exynos.
