About the regular note 20 having a "better display", the reason why the note 20 ultra display looks dimmer is due to the higher refresh rate. if you lock it at 60hz, it should be brighter. higher refresh rates require more power to keep up with the extra processing. The higher the refresh rate, the dimmer the screen will be unless the screen is ultra powerful. It's the same for Gaming monitors. My 144hz LG gaming monitor is way brighter at 60hz compared to it's 144hz setting.

Not true. I have both phones in my hands and even after setting ultra to 60hz wqhd regular note 20 is still way brighter. The white colors on ultra give off yellowish tint

@@lavarockzz Great phone. Battery life is insane, great big screen, the camera is really good. Autofocus ain't as quick as my S9+ though. Overall good, but not sure if it was worth the price tag. I was surprised to see the Note 20 Ultra $100 cheaper. I would've waited for the Note if I knew about the price and new features and the matte finish on the bronze model.

An important thing to touch on would be the lack of the sd slot. That's the biggest issue for me. I'm considering jumping from the 20 to the 20 ultra for that reason alone

No freaking joke. The front glass broke this morning. And I wasn't following this release. So looking up glass repair for Samsung note. I land on the Note 20 Ultra 5G.
I think I might just be happy with an overpriced screen repair. There's nothing wrong with the Note 9 IMO. At least not to the extent of upgrading.

It looks like a straight, pointed table and gives the impression that swiping your finger in the corner will pierce it. I like it slightly rounded, like the S8, only less like a narrow remote.

So I've been a Note fan for a long time and I use it as a sketchbook just about every day and I actually noticed in the store that the regular note 20 screen looked better but what really sold it for .e was the flat screen without the rounded off edges. I hated the rounded off edges when drawing on the phone. The only con I have about my choice is the plastic back but I always have it in a case so it wasn't that big of a deal. Plus it does make it lighter in the pocket.

PARADOX 818 no it’s not. Have you seen the note 20 display? Or used it ? And the response time on spen is 100x better. Although not as good as note 20 ultra but still major improvement. And the main offset for the plastic was because of 5g as it’s still costly to put that in.

@@TommyMLe Just your average hard case. It's a spider crack that starts at the volume rocker switch and then branches out into 3 lines across the back. Doesn't affect functionality though.

I have both Note20 Ultra and Note8. The color of my Note8 is better. The Note8 has punchier color, compared to the Note20's washed out color.
Niiccee I got my note 8 for 80$ someone found it on the train and I brought it instantly I'm still learning on it and enjoy the size & color oh and its 64 GBs
It should be working well even longer. I’ve had a LG G7 ThinQ for over 3 years, and it works well. Ran out of storage though and had to get an SD card.

I had the S8+ Found it lackng the last few months. Especially battery life. Was barely getting a day on max setting medium power saving mode. Then I got burned by the charger cable, probably a short in the cable. And said yeah that probably did some battery damage and got the N20

I dont know why I've noticed it on my galaxy s10 plus too. For some reason even though I have adaptive brightness off, the phone still dims the screen even on the highest brightness! Its so annoying! When I get out in the sun the screen gets brighter basically like I have adaptive brightness on when I have it off. I wish they would fix this
@@Sevan_UP Yeah I noticed that too on my S10 and even my old Note 5. My theory is that they probably turn on light sensor as well while at max (red line) no matter if you've turned on or off the adaptive brightness. It's weird lol

He had adaptive brightness on base note 20 you could see the brightness dim down when he turned it. Note 20 ultra is definitely better display

If these borders pass through a jungle of a wildlife park, we can't tell animals to not cross, we can't distinguish between air of one country from another, just like this, so in that sense it's imaginary. Moreover, Uncle Lew emphasised the fact that the channel has a global audience not just Canadians, so the inability of the companies to send products is just because of these border issues. It's not just about US/Canada. It's about everywhere and every reviewer who expects to receive a review unit but didn't. Hope this suffice.

I just got the 20 note, and yes I was surprised at how cheap it felt in my hand. I couldn't believe I spent more than 1000 dollars on this. I recommend getting the ultra a few 300$ more won't hurt

2 reasons why the regular Note 20 display " *looked* " better: 1: higher refresh rate requires more power, thus giving a slightly less saturation in 120hz mode. 2: The display on the Note 20 Ultra is called dynamic amoled. However Note 20 has a super amoled display. Don't let the name fool you, dynamic is better. It gives an overall better looking image and less eye strain. On the other hand Note 20 with super amoled display falls behind in nearly every aspect. The only advantage is slightly better saturation, but the dynamic amoled gives less eyestrain by a feautre samsung called blue light filter. Those are probably the reasons why.

Its probably also due to the higher pixel density, more pixels means there is, overall, more space between pixels and that means less of the front of the phone is outputting light.

No it's the "Video Enhancer" on the Standard Note20 Is ON and Not on the Ultra. It's funny that Lew forgot it, as it's the same on the S20 Ultra.

If you look closely, the video is zoomed in on the Ultra and it's not zoomed in on the regular model.

Yes it's disappointing the display quality of note 20 ultra it lack the colour contrast even my 4 year old s9 plus looks better
9:04 Looks like the screen on the regular Note was extra bright like it was detecting sunshine, because you can see it starts to dim when you tilt it away from the lights in the ceiling. Maybe that sunshine compensation just didn't activate on the Ultra for some reason. Lastly, could be a production error. Simple as that.
Production error, Video Enhancer was off on the Ultra, On on the standard. It's a Samsung thing that brightens video's in Programs only. It was on TH-cam so video enhancer was in effect.

@@mercedesbenzs600bash Actually, spec-wise the standard Note 20 has an awful display. It's only FHD+ at 60 hz. THe Note 20 Ultra is a little better, with QHD+ at 120 hz, but you can't use the phone with both QHD+ and 120 hz. They're honestly both ripoffs for the price point, considering at that pricepoint you can get much better phones like the OnePlus 8 Pro or even an iPhone, which is still a better value at the $1000 pricepoint than the standard Note 20.
They BETTER update it letting you do full resolution and high fps
