My coil came in this week and I got around to hooking it up today. I noticed the purple awire to the Voes. Well the black wire that come out with it has been cut and MIA . I’m assuming it was part of the factory ignition. It’s OK if it’s gone?
Hi and thanks for the great video. Why is 5500 and not 6000 your favorite rev limit? How does it run with curve 1, doesn't it knock, ping or maybe running to hot? I use curve 2 in my 1988 Sportster 883 with rev limit set to 6000 rpm. Maybe I try out curve 1 now, but I've read in some forums it'll run to hot. Will be great to find a video, where all curves and their effects on power and velocity will be tested. If anybody has experiences using different curves I appreciate all information. Sincere thanks and sorry for my rusty English, it's not my mother language.
Hey man! Since the video I changed the limiter to 6000! And also the curve 1 seems to be great bikes runs good on it I didnt notice any hotter running temps than normal hope this helps
Hey dude, killer sporty, got an 03 1200 im building out as well in the same exact color. Dont mean to be annoying, but if im not mistaken, you coil plugs are inverted. Front cylinder goes to pink, and rear to blue on the right. I installed a Twin tec ignition on mine a last week, they gave me a plug and play kit to use the og harness. Dont know if that changes anything, but just a heads up so you can double check just in case and make sure everything's up to spec. Enjoy your sporty and cant wait to see what else you do on it. No problem. Thanks for the info! But the wires are right only reason j know is because I had it backwards and bike wouldn’t start would just spit flames then I went and looked back and realized it needs to be rear cylinder to pink and blue to front

Don’t use the green wire at all and also don’t use the purple one I did in this video and after my bike ran bad so don’t use the green wire or the purple wire leave the stock purple wire for the VOES switch the way it was and jjst use the pink blue and white wires only from the new ignition onto the coil that’s it all the others tuck back and tape up
@@coreyguns556 no I just took my stock one out and then didn’t rotate my motor at all and put the new one back in the cup has a tit on it and it all lined up how it needed to be
Anyone know if the install on this video will have any affect on the tach? Your bike didn’t have a tach from the factory but mine does. I’m just wondering if it will still work or what I need to do to make it work
@@brunojoutel go get in your car and floor the throttle in park and see what the motor does it’ll hit a rev limiter it’s the red section in your tachometer

Also I rode the bike and it rides perfect did some wheelies and stuff I think it literally won’t run if reversed

Goes thanks that helps, did you have to rotate your motor to top dead center.

The green wire is for your tach.
I’ve got an 03 883 sportster I’m installing this in, by bike doesn’t have a tachometer, do I just not use the green wire?

It is in the instructions about a factory tach. I had a factory tach on my Superglide and it worked just fine by following the instructions.
Maybe a dumb question , don’t all sportsters come with rev limiters? I have an 04 roadster and it hits limiter around 5-6k rpm’s
Nope only 2004 and up came with one!

They don't say weather I can run same coil or not nor dose it say if old cup will work
You need a new coil from ultima and the stock cup works still
