awesome look on the Jeep JL or Jeep JT! My wife turned the wrench for some of this mod and I finished it up. This is all in preparation for the new Rubicon bumper that we'll be installing on her Jeep Wrangler JL. What do you think of this look?

If you are keeping the factory bumper, buy a set of Rubicon back plates for the bumper - lacks the filler and protects the fog lights wiring. Cheap too.

With the 35s and the 2.5 lift, I decided to remove the air dams as well. I trimmed off the bottom, sides and top and put them back in place to provide a cover and protection for the fog lights. Looks perfect and is till functional!

@@robmotiveplus nope....in fact, I could probably put 37s on but I'm happy with the 35s.
Some reasons to leave those air dams on is improved mpg and helps keep mud flinging on the front bumper which can accumulate mud.
One tool that would be of great help in future projects would me a Milwaukee 3/8" battery ratchet, also, nice video. Looking forward to seeing the new bumper install. Thanks for sharing.
I need to get one of those. I wonder if they have enough strength to remove really tight bolts?🤔
@@robmotiveplus Probably not, if you have several bolts/nuts to remove you can break them loose with a normal ratchet and quickly remove them with the Milwaukee ratchet.

On a hot day this is a 2 minute job. The plastic is really soft. You just need a strong steady hand. No need to take it off.
My dealer had to trim them for my tires to fit. But it's pretty much still intact. I might remove them someday. Right now im looking for mud flaps. My wide tires are flinging mud and stones onto the paint!

That pc between the bumper and fender is to stop mud and crap from splashing onto bumper.
My JK does NOT have them, and gets crappy splatter after EVERY single rain and puddle splash.

Those filler things only come on base JL and JT for some reason. They aren’t there on all other trims. Odd that they put more pieces in trims that are less to buy haha.

The air dam on my jk came off im the snow and i can tell while highway driving. The air under the hood makes tje front lighter and my hood flutters. Makes HW driving on windy days a little uncomfortable
@@nickyperezz do you have rubber factory hood latch...if so that's why your hood flutters...quick fix ..take some plastic ties around the latches...or replace with metal latches..
The front hood on Jk is made of tissue paper. Even if you put heavy duty latches it won’t stop the flexing in the center of hood which over time isn’t good.
Your wife is nice, you did good Rob.👍 She should do a video and show off her jeep, which I like the color. You'll probably figure out those panels help keep the front a little cleaner..🤏

Whatever you do, please do not go off-roading with that tire and rim setup. The rims are way too big for the amount of sidewall you have...very unstable, could cause an accident or break something.
They are the same as stock🤔
@@robmotiveplus the rims on your wife's JL look like 20's and the sidewall doesn't appear very substantial...unless it's the camera, but everything else looks normal.

You will want to put that back on once you feel the handling difference on highway speeds. The Air currents also lift up on the hood. This mod makes the handling terrible.
Not true. Drove over 2400 miles at speeds up to 95mph with no issue. Not sure where you got your info??
@@robmotiveplus Aerodynamics is based on provable facts. Cavitation is introduced when you remove the Air dam. The environmental situation dictates the handling outcomes of the jeep , not your personal experience of 2400 miles.
Again, I disagree. There is no better proof than real life experience (mine or others). Theories are proven and disproven by real life experience. Your theory is incorrect.
