Viewers can learn so much more from you than woodturning. I once had a teacher when I was in college who told us that if we learned everything about one thing, we’d learn all there is to know. I can’t thank you enough.

It’s really interesting to be starting out watching your latest resin bowls, and now going back to your inlay “roots” to see where you came from. Love this burned edge! I’ve never even heard of doing that before, and the effect is fabulous! Very cool!

What a Brilliant combination! You Put the shavings on paper, you can roll it into a funnel for quickly filling spots and a second one on your Matt will catch the loose shavings, you can again bend it to a funnel to place back into the jar to be used again later, it’s great with glitter or any of those fine mediums that you have to buy, “waste not want not”

Wow, that looks amazing! I actually thought you painted or laminated the edge of the bowl! I was shocked when you said, "Okay, lets get the torch and burn it!" 🤣
Definitely the last thing I thought I'd hear after all that work on a wood project!
I love the natural edge of the bowl. It's really cool! I like that you don't cut them down to make it even. It makes for a much more interesting piece! It does have less holding capacity tho, so it's good you do both.

Excellent piece Jim. I’m loving your videos. With the exception of Captain Eddy Castelin I find that most videos really are “watch how I do this” without providing sufficient details. With your videos you provide excellent info and instructions on how you go about with your craft as well as providing the pitfalls based on your experience. I’ve watched three of your videos since discovering your channel earlier today. I’ve learned something from each one. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos in the following days. For now, I’m wishing you continued success.

I was a little shocked by this and I think she’s right. Stay safe, Jim.

Glad I found this video! Not just for getting to see the amazing results you got on that bowl, but also because I'm working on a walking stick handle which is going to have a similar look to the inlay: small branches and twigs showing the end grain. I'd thought of filling the gaps with just sawdust, but the brass really makes it better.
