Blue is my favourite colour, in almost every shade, and this one us no exception! Absolutely gorgeous! The wood makes the piece, but the difference between the two pours was really cool. It hit me like the swirling was the sea and the second pour made me think cloudy sky. I'm obsessed with this bowl!!! 😍
Thanks 😊
Hooray for Hercules! It seems to glide along so effortlessly. That Designer Epoxy is awesome; it’s such a beautiful, pearlescent blue color. All of the colors seem to be above average! Amazingly gorgeous piece! Great job! Bravo!
I totally agree! Thanks
I think Blue Laguna is my favorite too
Thank you very much!
Absolutely loved this video. Fantastic seeing you do custom work. The wood was just so beautiful and they picked beautiful colors for the resin and the wall thickness looked really good
Thank you very much!
Stunning as always, the burl is gorgeous and I love the blue laguna
Thank you very much!
Every time I start one of your videos I think to myself, I can't possibly like this one as much as the last stunner he turned out. I've never been so glad to be proven consistently wrong. Gorgeous as always Jim!
Thanks 😊
Both beautiful pieces I love the Smurf blue colour on the bowl
Me too!! Thanks
Absolutely fantastic looking piece Jim beautiful 👍
Thanks!
That blue laguna is such a nice colour. Really enjoyed this video, thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching!
The resin keeps a lot of wood out of the wood stove. But the twice turned bowls are great too, but I like the pieces of burls or finished wood, pine cones and the like. The blue laguna if a fantastic color, goes well with the maple. A fine work of art sir, outstanding.🌿 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks so much
Awesome wood and work great video's
Thank you! Cheers!
I do think it's neat to have those horizon lines sometimes.
It has to have something to do with the convection flow of the cure, and since they were at different stages, the upper portion had more circulation with itself?
Kind what I'm seeing.
Awesome stuff. Thanks Jim
Thanks!
I received my bowl today. And it is even prettier in person. The colors are amazing. Thank you so much 😊
Your very welcome! Thanks 😊
Congratulations
The color of the blue looks like sky, the pearl looks like water. Spectacular.
Thanks again!
The maple burl and blue laguna compliment each other so well. Absolutely love the colour combination!
Thanks 😊
Cool Shit As Usual Man;)) Designer Epoxy Rocks;))
Thanks so much!
Jim, after the day I had, I was really looking forward to the mold struggle.... only so I could sympathize with you and share our pain together. You took that away from me today... That bowl looks amazing and I really like the vase. I think I mentioned last week that I liked the translucent purple alot. That blue in the bowl is really nice too, I think that separation in pours was actually a nice feature. It blended together better than some second pours that leave a very obvious witness line. Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it!
Jim, I love, love, love that blue laguna with that burl. You amaze me.
It’s one of my favorites! Thanks
Damn mosquitos! Still a beautiful piece, that hollow form. The blue lagoona makes the bowl look like you chopped a globe up, very old world map style 🥰
Thanks 😊
I really like the colours. The wood is spectacular… cool shape finished product. As usual a stunning piece! Stay safe.
Thanks 😊
Stunning pieces from last week and this week, I'm loving the vase, my favourite colour.
Thanks 😊
You had me at laguna blue and burl! Love this bowl! The vase turned out so neat - the ghostees in the purple add depth.
Thanks!
Every time you use the blue laguna, the more I fall in love with it. It's such a great color. I especially love it when paired with the lighter colored woods. Gives it more of a tropical 🍹 vibe. I love how you have the turbulence in the bottom half of the resin versus the calm of the top layer. Superb quality.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful bowl - I like the Blue Laguna color too. Great follow up on the vase!
Thanks!
I needed the simplicity and movement of this piece!!!! Thank you!
Thanks 😊
Earth, sea, and sky. The pour is perfect.
Agreed, thanks!
Jim, I really love the blue laguna bowl! I like the ripples in the lower part, then the smoother blue above that!
Thanks 😊
What If the second resin was sunset colors?!?
Jim, I’ve been binge watching your videos… I thoroughly enjoy seeing your finished product. I would love to see some copper shavings incorporated into one of your pieces during the initial resin pore.
Very tough to work with, don’t even think I’ve seen copper shavings for sale come to think of it. Thanks
i like how your mold making skills have gotten better and more creative over time. it’s a delicate balance of trying to save resin, keeping the wood from floating, and getting it out painlessly. it’s practically an art form in itself 😄
I can’t argue with that, lol. Thanks!
Good to see your percussive mold release tool back in use, the bowl looks fantastic.
Thanks!
I love the Maple and Blue. Great looking bowl. The Vase is looking great too.
Thanks James!
I do like this bowl. The layers of resin remind me of fog over the sea. Peaceful, and beautiful !
Thanks 😊
The bowl is nice! The burl is gorgeous! The vase is spectacular!
Thanks 😊
Great looking bowl Jim! Love the blue/burl combination. The vase looks fantastic also, despite all the frustration it gave you. Cheers
Thanks!
Congratulations on reaching 50K! I really love the laguna blue and maple combo. I believe I'm "Team Laguna", too. Thanks as always for the video. Congratulations to your daughter on her graduation.
Go team! Lol. Thanks 😊
The maple burl looks like undersea mountains rising in an aqua sea, lovely. But I prefer the translucence of the purple vase!
Got it, thanks!
Another Awesome Project. Love the Blue Lagona . Beautiful
Thanks 😊
HEY THERE JIM .THAT BOWL IS BEAUTIFUL.YEP THAT BLUE IS AWESOME.BUT THAT PURPLE LAST WEEK WAS BREATH TAKING.THANKS ALOT FOR SHARING..ALWAYS LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING
😁
Thanks 😊
That bowl is a thing of beauty, love the blue laguna.
Thanks!
The Blue Laguna really sets off the beauty of that Maple burl!😘 Amazing job again Jim.
You are a true artist!
I don’t know if you noticed that there is an upside down heart in the Blue Laguna 💙 where one of the edges of burl makes kinda an island.
Thank you very much!
Not a turner. Just a lurker. I find it very calming to watch. The final product is always lovely. Thanks.
Thank you very much!
I really love the colour combination, two of my favorites blue and burl!!!!
Thanks!
The blue.Laguna looks like the sky meeting the ocean. I really like some of the other resin colors also, the reds and oranges are great. Thanks for sharing your work.
Thanks for watching!
Absolutely beautiful burl and resin color bowl. All your pieces are high quality ♥️
Thanks 😊
Beautiful bowl, Jim, that maple burl is awesome!!
I think so too! Thanks
Beautiful bowl and vase. I love your work. Jim you are master at your craft.
Thanks 😊
Some folks don't like shiny, but I do ... and in my experience shiny SELLS! Beautiful piece!
100%! Thanks
Love the Violet Vase! Just gorgeous! Thank you do much for the work you do and the videos to enjoy.
Thanks for watching!
Really pretty bowl. You never disappoint. I always look forward to your videos! Thanks
Thanks for watching!
I have to say that while the blue with that burl is utterly fantastic, I love that purple vase. I just think it has a presence and character the other does not have. I really like the translucency and the swirls with the dark tones thru out the wood. But both Burls are awesome and in both the resin helps accent their beauty.
Agreed, thanks!
Your video's are definitely getting more polished and your explanations are great. The colour combination is also nice; however all wood projects are also nice, but the epoxy gives each project a unique effect.
Totally, thanks!
2 more beautiful projects Jim, great work, love mosquitoes landing on wet finishes, like not
Yup, it a 🤯🤯🤯 moment, lol. Thanks
wow that burl is amazing and goes so well with the blue lagoona. The swirls in the resin remind me of Van Gogh's Starry Night painting
It’s a beauty! Thanks for watching!
Lucky you to get all these beautiful burls.
I certainly am. Thanks
I love how the resin and the uneven edges of the burl look like water churning along a shoreline. This is a beautiful bowl.
It does totally look like that. Thanks
The bowl is lovely and the blue laguna is a delightful color which goes well with the burl. The vase is nice but obviously still a learning project.
Thanks!
Thanks for being a pro, and not just another whack job wood turner. I don’t have a lathe or even a shop to put it in yet, but you are so inspiring that I absolutely am going to. Thanks, you rock!
Wow, thank you very much!
👍👍another great bowl. Love that blue laguna
Thanks 😊
Another beautiful piece. Great work Jim.
Thanks!
That ambrosia burl is awesome.
Thanks!
Another beautiful hybrid bowl! Thanks for the video.
Thanks!
this would be a dream to own. you've been getting better and better at this, keep up the good work.
Thanks again!
Always in awe of the beauty that emerges with your work!
Thanks!
Love the blue Laguna!😍🥰💕
It’s my favorite! Thanks 😊
Boy, every move you make, shows real smarts, like when you used a bag of shavings so as to confine the epoxy to the area to be covered ONLY…very smart, and the art is all of our bonus…very gorgeous
Thank you very much!
Another great video and bowl. Mike Hunter attended our turning club last night. He expressed high regards towards you.
Awesome, thanks for letting me know.
Gorgeous, as usual. I love the way the two pours of the resin make it look like increasing depth.
Me too, thanks 😊
Awesome bowl, looks great. Great color of resin. Have a great day
Same to you and thanks!
Not sure how you manage to do this but everything you do turns out beautifully
Thanks!
Love that blue!! So beautiful ❤
Thank you so much!
I think the blue is absolutely gorgeous. It is my favorite resin color, too.
Thanks 😊
The grain inside the bowl at the bottom is absolutely stunning!
Sure is, thanks!
I absolutely love this bowl! The colors of the burl are awesome and the blue is gorgeous! Thank you Jim for sharing this video. 🙏 always, Dotty
Thanks for watching!
Believe it or not Jim, that witness line actually adds to that piece imo. Aka from ocean to sky. Gorgeous.
Can’t argue that. Thanks!
Wonderful to watch, as always! I love the effect that the second pour gave the first - looks like sea and sky!
Agreed, thanks 😊
I’m on your side, that Blue Laguna is hard to beat!
Yup, thanks!
The burl is outstanding and the light blue is beautiful! I told my mom that I wish I could have you make me something.
Thanks 😊
What a beauty! You really do a great job. Keep killin' it! Take care & God Bless!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful bowl Jim. This purple vase is really nice too, but the bowl make me say “ooooh!”
Lol, thanks!
The vase is stunning! Thanks for taking the time to sharing the process and your talents. Amazing as always thanks again for what you do. I have learned many techniques from you and I believe I’m becoming a better turner ! Thank you
Great! Thanks for watching!
I absolutely love this piece BUT my heart is still thumping from last weeks project. I've literally had dreams about that beauty! 💖
Lol, thanks 😊
I love the blue laguna. It’s definitely my favorite as well.
Thanks 😊
Really like the bowl and the vase. Seems a bit frustrating…
Look forward to easier results.
The maple burl is amazing 👍
It really is! Lol. thanks!
Love the unintended effect of the double pour - to me it ends up looking like a lowering sky over stormy tossed water!
Totally, thanks 😊
Beautiful bowl. I love the blue too.
Thanks!
Another great video Jim. I like that color with the wood.
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the blue. Beautiful bowl
Thanks 😊
Beautiful bowl, great wood grain character!! That is a fantastic blue! So much, compliments the wood!! Great finish!!
Thanks!
💙B E A U T I F U L!!!💙
Thanks again!
My husband is a tree topper has been for 45 years he has some really beautiful burls that hes acquired he has done some work with them but hes never used resin with them and those pieces that you have done with resin that I've seen are absolutely fabulous.
He should send them to me, haha. Working with the resin is awesome! Thanks
Another gorgeous outcome that make me think of the sea,
Agreed, thanks!
Beautiful bowl. Love the blue
Me too. Thanks for watching!
Jim, blue is also my favorite color. That light blue looks really nice with that burl. I wonder how a deep blue with pear or silver highlights would look with a darker burl ... if you have a darker burl maybe you can try it.
I’ll give it some thought, thanks!
Very nice bowl, but I love the vase!
Thanks!
Reminds me of a lake or the sea, super refreshing!
Thanks 😊
Jim, I too am a huge fan of the shiny finishes. This bowl reminds me of the water and waves, sort of glad you didn’t swirl this one with the stick. Jim, that vase is beautiful. You are way too hard on yourself. The average joe would probably not even noticed. Thank you for all you do for us.
I’m at times a perfectionist, lol. Thanks
Bloody awesome Jim! Such a treat to share your resin journey - I just hope some of the lessons and tricks you’ve demonstrated stick with me in my journey! Probably not applicable to this vase, but one trick I picked up from someone on YT was to use coloured wax fill sticks on those stubborn fish eyes in the resin finish - pick the closest match to the wood, heat the wax with a lighter, fill the hole, and buff off the excess. Next coat glides right over and no more fish eye. But your vase looked like that might not have been appropriate. Friggin awesome regardless! Thanks for bringing us along for the ride!!
Interesting, never heard that before! Thanks for coming on the journey!
Looks like the Ocean, Mountains and Sky!! Stunning!
Agreed, thanks 😊
Absolutely stunning that burl combined with the blue exquisite. 💙
Thanks 😊
i love that vase.....hope i win it...Great show by the way.....
Thanks!
