Not every part of the body needs to be alkaline. There are some organs/parts of the body need to be acidic. Acid in stomach is needed (1-3.5 pH is required).
    1. pepsin for digesting proteins
    2. intrinsic factor - a glycoprotein which helps in B12 absorption - a very important vitamin - nerves, brain, memory, alzheimers, parkinsons
    3. sterilizes the food, germs, bacteria, bugs, cramps in stomach, gastric issues
    4. liver and gall bladder to produce bile to help breakdown fat in system.
    5. acid reflux - oesophagus membrane gets destroyed by reflux. oesophagal cancer etc.
    oesophagus spinchter, pyloric sphincter
    6. undigested acid protein pieces force themselves into SI and irritates the lining, leaky gut and proteins enter bloodstreams, autoimmune condition - immune system floods gut. pancreas is stressed out to clear out gut. Mal absorption due to inflamed gut. Leaky gut syndrome. Bad bacteria SBIG (small bacterial intestinal growth) kicks in, gassy, bloated feeling, flatulence, bad breath, body odor, belching, low immunity, more inflammation depletes oxidants.
    Remedies
    1. Lemon water/apple cider vinegar 30 min before meal
    2. Marinate meat with vinegar. Vinegar helps in protein digestion.
    3. Freshly chopped ginger, aniseed - bishop's weed
    4. coriander/cilantro - stimulates digestive acid
    5. do not drink water while eating - dilutes acid. Until 30 min before and after
    6. Yogurt, pickles (fermented foods) stimulate stomach acid
    7. eat largest meal when you are relaxed (parasympathetic state), never eat when you are stressed. Eat largest meal when you are relaxed. Do not overeat food.
    8. Avoid antacids. Bad lifestyle cannot be gotten away by antacids. Get off antacids.
    9. Keep a healthy enteric nervous system.
    10. More you chew the food the better. Chew food longer and longer.
    Have a great day!

  • @weil9525

WOW. This is the best video I have found so far that explains why our stomach needs proper amount of acid.
Thank you so much for the valuable information. I need to start marinating my meat with some sort of vinegar to further improve digestion. I also thank you for saying don't drink too much water while eating. The water will dilute stomach acid that is needed to break down food. I will drink drink 30 min after eating at the very least.
    Immediate action:
    - drink apple cider vinegar 30 min prior eating a big meal.
    - use vinegar in my meat marinate.
    - drink little water prior to eating a big meal.
    - eat while relaxed (not while working and stressed) -- I learned this lesson the hard way :(

I am in the middle of a horrible GORD flare after trying plant based for a few weeks. It's so bad, constant sour taste, painful chest, pain on swallowing, cough, Laryngitis and vomiting. I really don't want to go back on ppis as it took me months to get off them (they had me on them for years!) I've no idea if it's too much or too little acid and I'm fed up, no clue what to eat anymore!

    • @CT2507

Forget about your stomachs motility. Worry about its acid!
You look to be young. As you get older you will have less and less stomach acid, and then you will really feel the need to keep your level of acid up.

If the hot sips of water with your meals are really helping & you feel better, I sure would continue if It were me. I may even try this myself. I will try anything if it sounds logical & plausible- to feel better. There are exceptions to most rules. Our body & brain chemistry is unique. What works for me may not work for you. We all want the same thing, tho- TO FEEL BETTER. I wish you good health & ease 😊

Guilty of poping antacids for several years. Perhaps 10 years every summer. I always had pain believeing i had too much acid during the summer for some reason.
Now i suffer like a fool.
Now i know why i thought i was having too much acid during the summers. Cause i was taking allergy medicin every summer since i was a teenager. This created iritations and pains in the stomach.

Decreasing the acid definitely makes it FEEL better temporarily, because the acid is neutralized, so it stops burning your esophagus, BUT, that just perpetuates the problem. The goal is to INCREASE the acid, so that the valve closes tightly and the acid stays in your stomach instead of bubbling up into your esophagus.
In other words- increasing the acid in your stomach SOLVES the problem, instead of taking antacids that just perpetuate the problem.

Thank you as this fits with all the other research Im doing. I already have Barrett’s Ulcers in my oesophagus, and wonder if the Apple Cider vinegar or lemon water will aggravate that more. Mt enterologist put me on tabs to lower my acid but now my whole body is not getting proper broken down nutrients and it is showing. So I want to stop the tablets.

What is the theory or the evidence that ACV increases stomach acid production?

What if you have ulcers and or irritated gut. If I use apple cider and or lemon it exacerbates my symptoms.

1/4 teaspoon baking soda and glass of water. Mix. Drink. If you burp in less than 2 minutes good stomach acid. No burps after 2-3 min. Not much stomach acid. Do this in morning. Empty stomach.
