Before consuming HCL try adding a little more salt to your diet. I eat a low salt whole plant based diet. My doc asked me did the colour of beetroot go through to my poo. I said yes, and he said I had low stomach acid. You can’t produce HCL if you don’t consume enough chloride. The RDI for chloride is 3000 mg. The main source of chloride is NaCl (salt). I increased my NaCl to the RDI of 5000 mg. The poo colour went away and my gut settled down. Now I make sure I get the RDI of salt. My blood pressure is still very good because I eat a lot of veggies and they are high potassium foods.

I tried HCL then but it hurt my stomach so bad I couldn't take it and didn't for many many years. Recently I'd heard to take the HCL after the 1st bite of food. That has helped tremendously. Good video and informative. One word that was stated several times, "speculative", pretty much sums everything up regarding nearly all traditional medicine and natural alternatives. I don't think any of these professionals and experts absolutely know anything for sure as everyone's case is unique. Most treatments utilize trial and error methods until something is found that works, i.e. the symptoms clear up. The thing is that these symptoms may have cleared up on their own without any treatment at all and just happened to coincide with the last form of treatment tried. How would you know?

Last year I got diagnosed with H. Pylori. I was prescribed two treatments of antibiotics. The symptoms didn't change very much. I wake up with an acidic mouth taste every morning, bitter taste after meals.
I really don't want to try more antibiotics.
I tried probiotics for 3 months. Aloe vera with coconut water, and ginger.
    Now I'm trying celery juice.
I've tried HCI, but I feel well after meals, but at night, I continue having my mouth
    acidic.
A doctor said that it's possible that I developed SIBO.
Also, I had my gallbladder removed 4 years ago, and I got my hiatal hernia repaired 7 years ago.
I'm trying. Bile flow, bitter herbs, and oxy salts.
The only thing that I noticed differently is that I don't have diarrea, but the stool is a little loose/undigested. I belch a lot after meals, but I don't feel indigestion or a sensation of something in my throat. That's gone!
I will try HCI the way you recommended.

Low stomach acid produces obvious symptoms like tightness in the chest, reflux, feeling full easily, tired after meals. You don't need drastic HCL supplementtion to give your digestion a boost. For me a few strawberries after meals did the trick. The acid from the strawberries was gentle and just enough. HCL can also mess up your stomach lining if taken without precaution.

So I think there should be two 'scenarios'; 1) when you are using acid-lowering medication (for more than x weeks (for instance or especially) to fight side effects in other medication), 2) when you are not.

Heartburn and acid reflux are caused by low digestive enzymes; your body compensates by secreting HCl, which is what causes indigestion and eventually acid reflux. So you need to supplement digestive enzymes, not HCl.

Anti parietal are not too specific, they are found in patients with other autoimmune conditions. You have to check your B12 level I if they are low you should do gastroskopy. They are sign of autoimmunity (antibodies) so be sure to change your diet, lifestyle, managing stress, gut health firstly.

I've been so afraid to try HCI, but have had silent reflux for just over three years and have tried so many things. Currently, I'm using your Saccharomyces Boulardii (just started) to see if that might give me some relief if SIBO is playing a part. I'm also using Reflux Gourmet and it's helping to keep my throat swelling down. Honestly, I'm just not sure if anything will ultimately help because the underlying problem is that I have primary hyperparathyroidism the hyperplasia form and it's just wreaking havoc on my body. I've had two surgeries that have removed two glands, but I have an ectopic gland that they haven't been able to find, and I feel pretty confident that if they were able to find it, much, if not all of my issues would resolve. Hyperparathyroidism does a lot of terrible things to your body, but the two that are most important with regards to LPR and gastro problems is it weakens your muscles (sphincters) and can make your stomach produce more acid. I'm so glad you did this video because I keep reading that I might actually have low acid and trying a course of HCI Betaine might be the cure...I've already been to UC for my throat swelling so bad and just can't bring myself to do it. But if I did find the courage to try it, this sounds more reasonable than the other way so many speak of. Thank you for this video, Dr. Ruscio!

If low acid is reason for reflux, why oranges/coffee caused my reflux? And why do we need to avoid them later too since reflux seems wont cure that quickly?

You got it twisted, your acid is low because it’s not acidic enough. You have a muscle called sphincter to close that you need below level of 3 above 4 your acid goes up because that muscle is now thinking that it’s not enough acidic to close the muscles. That’s why it’s called “HEART BURN or you might call it acid reflux” you need your acid to be really acidic to kill off bad bugs or viruses bacteria’s etc. I’m taking Apple cider vinegar in the morning one table spoon in a full cup. If it hurts your stomach you might have gerd which you need to coat your stomach take slippery elms or celery juice or eat banana to heal your stomach walls. Then take Apple cider after a week of slippery elms

Thanks for details. Yes, I started using betaine HCl, and it is miracle. Slippery elm also for few weeks. coffee is culprit, it loosens LES, and oranges just happened to have caused more acid in quantity in my cause.

i can't find a doc that will take sibo or candida into consideration , so i'm still dealing with acid reflux ,hypothyriod , getting tired after supper where i end up sleeping for 3-5 hours and now that has messed up my circadian rhythm , my mental state is not very good this is also due to the fact that i feel hopless because no doc has helped me at all they all just say it's IBS and i will never be 100% better , any little thing can set me off and i have constipation and lose stool i seem to alternate between the 2 . i have been taking a probiotic for years it was working great but now it dose nothing . ive tried B hcl when these issues first started because i was getting a nausea's feeling after eating any kind of protein but i got up to 24 pills and nothing happened . ive also tried a super low carb low sugar, fruit and veggies , lean protein , no prepackaged food diet for a month and i felt like i was always hungery and never got full i ended up losing alot of weight fast in that month . so any help or advice would be great thanks

I have the same issues as you, i started using a red light and my sleep improved dramatically, my energy skyrocket. Candida thrives in humidity and darkness, ofcourse candida feeds of sugar and complex carbs so avoid those foods-fodmap diet. Reduce fiber to a minumum. Start loading on probiotics non dairy ofcourse

@@dmx1721 search red light or red light therapy. Is much more cost effective to buy a red light for your home is about 350-500, it will last a decade and works wonders. Trust me. Covid vaccines and antibiotics messed me up so much, so red light was the only thing that helper alot with eating a keto diet and getting rid of parasites like candida

Taking 500 mg of Ox Bile and a glass of water like 60 minutes after eating should tell you something about your stomach acid levels. If you burp the whole thing up then you probably have low stomach acids.

I have autoimmune pernicious anaemia/gastritis. Pesky antibodies attacking the stomach. I take Thompson’s betaine HCL with pepsin supplements and Digestive Executive enzyme supplements. They work great.

@@Faceclose I just need one per meal. I don’t know how low exactly but I felt a lot better after starting as I am finally absorbing nutrients properly and my low acid symptoms like bloating after eating, rectal itching etc went away.
I tried out the bicarb of soda (baking soda) test and I didn’t burp for 15 minutes. My mum tried this test and never burped. She has severe GERD/LPR which goes away with these supplements. Same dosage as I take interestingly. You can try this test out. Search here on TH-cam: Abundant Health - How To Test For Proper Stomach Acid.

@@vijayamara817 I don’t have any burning but my mum has has that happen with the higher dosages which is why she likes Thompson’s brand as it’s a lower dosage (324 mg betaine and 39 mg pepsin).
