Well I have bipolar 2 and adhd. Doctors should get info from patients not books.

Books are usually written based on years of direct experience working with and treating patients

It took me 17 years to get the diagnosis of Bipolar 2. Now, its noted that I exhibit symptoms of adhd inattentive, but I cannot take stimulants as it triggers a manic state. x.x
Problem is i also have sleep apnea so it is hard to deduce what is really wrong when i cannot correct the other ongoing issues. But i had the same psychiatrist for 6 years and he was able to see the fluctuations and cyclical behaviors associated with Bipolar 2.

I discovered that i stopped waking up from snoring after i changed my diet. i stopped eating grains because of stomach cramps and way to much gas, then i quit eating dairy - I became more and more sick of drinking milk over time, but figured i could eat cheese and such. so i did. i had huge migraine episodes, skin rashes, pimples, puffy face and much miore subtle things, but lots of them. well, i also quit eating dairy, and for good measure, i stopped using seed oils like canola and rapeseed oil. its been 3 months since i became ultra strict about it, and, like I said, I quit snoring. also, without having any training at all, I began to breath effortless through the nose when using the staircase, or when i am jogging. I went by bike everywhere for two years, but what really boosts my breathing is nutrition! imagine, its crazy. try quitting grains (rice included), its the most common irritant, nutrition wise. a 3 week test phase is enough, the effects will show themselves pretty quick.

That was useful to hear. I’m seeing a psychiatrist at the moment and he’s diagnosed me with bipolar however I feel I may have adhd too. I’m seeing him tomorrow so I’m hoping he will hear me out and come up with a plan to help me

Oh, No! I’ve definitely experienced hypomanic speech. That’s been noted a # of times with/from a church member. She’s very aware of this in me. I thought this was over with! I feel so strongly like I’d just wanna get out of here. OH CRAP!

I have known I have had ADHD since I heard of it but certainly things haver changed dramatically. In the last 7 years my moods have become so disregulated, it doesn't just feel like ADHD anymore. My other symptoms are pretty much the same as they have always been but the deregulation is off the scale. I'm starting to wonder if I have late onset bipolar. It's so hard to separate the ADHD, autism and how I feel in myself. This is so helpful

I am a pharmacist who was misdiagnosed with anxiety and depression and prescribed cipralex with no effect on my concentration issues then the psychiatrist changed it to Effexor and I become more agitated, confident and sleep less, then she prescribed antipsychotic. A few years later, I came to a professional psychiatrist and diagnosed with ADHD and he prescribed me stimulant. And I am afraid to experience what happened with Effexor. Please I need a second advice.

Effexor is absolutely horrible. Getting off of it is the worst. I was studying to be a pharmacist and I don't even know what to say except I'm sorry. It can take years and years. I've tried 21 different medications. It's a lot, but understanding yourself and your journey is the best part. It's giving reason to the chaos and the reason is not because you are damaged or broken. You are never alone. I was just about to make a video about executive dysfunction in general for my own channel. I hope you can get to the bottom of your diagnosis. Possible career change or career setting change like if you're in retail maybe going to a compounding facility or something like that. Slow of pace and less dealing with people directly. Sending love and well wishes. ❤

Hi there, I’ve been a long time ago, told that I had probably bipolar? Not sure what type it was. But know that I’ve got ADHD. I’m in my 60’s now & still suffer from emotional dysregulation. A church member stated that she believes that I’m using my problem(s) as an excuse for not doing this or that. I couldn’t believe my ears that she’d be that ignorant!!! That deeply hurt 😞 down. She has yet to apologize to me for how she hurt me with her uncalled for words. I said that she just spoke the same words that my brother has that spells out ‘invalidation!’ Ouch 😞😭Feel like crap. Help Me please!

Adhd is not laziness. Ignorance yes.

We may procrastinate on tasks but that's the adhd telling us " No its too hard!!!" Ask church friend to help you get over obstacle.

I have been diagnosed worth inattentive adhd only finding out after both my sons got diagnosed I’ve just struggled on. I was on citalopram ssri before I was diagnosed they I feel were a mistake even tho they took the mental pain away they made me wreckless if that makes sense? Now I’m on just stimulants for over a month but woke up feels so down after been on a high for a month. Now I’m thinking is it possible to have bipolar at the same time? I been in bed feeling lethargic for about 4 days. Total nightmare trying to figure it all out.
    Cheers.
    Jon

Does one usually suffer from both of these disorders? How can that be clarified? So, am I to realize that I’ve got an overlap here? A degree of each? Which one stands out worse? I can’t handle this all alone! Help me please!

Have you seen a psychiatrist? They would be able to assess your condition and put you on the right course of treatment.
