  • This Drill works on hitting, running bases, tagging, and fielding. Its a fun drill for conditioning a player. 3 and 4 year olds just want to run. This drill is good for that. Hope you like it. Please Like, Share, Comment, and Subscribe.

    Your techniques have worked out very well for me. Especially when the kids are practicing catch and stay on their spots. Do you have have any ideas to keep all the kids from chasing after the ball once it is in play? Currently during tee-ball games, once a batter hits the ball, all the kids race to get the ball.

      Glad they are working for you. At 3 and 4 they all want the ball. That’s why with this drill I recommend tossing more baseballs so they can all get a chance. In the Game They remind me of the seagulls in Finding Nemo..mine, mine,mine.. when they chase the ball ..it’s going to take some time and patience to get them to stay in their spots. I started to practice a team drill where I would hit it to a person and started to yell cover, cover, cover. I taught each one where and what I wanted them to cover. Then whoever got the ball would start throwing, overhand rolling, or under hand rolling the ball. Since at that level many can’t throw and many can catch I told them to throw the ball on the ground to the next person. Then I would have them continue to throw around to each base until it got home. I am going to try to make a video on it soon. I recommend doing this drill toward the end of practice. But believe me they will forget when next practice or game comes and will all chase the ball again. But keep practicing consistently and they will eventually get it. Repetition, repetition is the key. Thanks fir the question I hope this helps.

    Absolutely love your videos. I have a question. Do you use a "spot" for every kid. Example, do you put 9 spots out there or just when you are working with a few kids?

    • @mr.sportscoach6965
      @mr.sportscoach6965  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I do. I use it for all kids. If the league is not competitive I would put them out on the field as well. At that age it’s tough to get in a spot especially if mom and dad are telling them to move up. Each child will have a spot and when we are practicing drills I get them and place them where I want them. It works great for me. I use the spots all the time.
