I’ve been using some of your hitting drills as well as yougoprobaseball hitting drills and i feel like my son has done some improvement within a month on his hitting this year for little league he went 5 games with out getting a hit and if he did hit the ball he would pull them foul or just hit grounders the past 3 games he has gotten a solid hit every game thank you for these videos really appreciated

Great video - thanks for the rundown on the proper positioning (which I find is almost always overlooked). Do you have any advise for drills that can be done on a tee to work on players who are casting their bat? I know of the "two tee drill" and the fence drill, but would welcome any other suggestions. Thanks!
Great video. Far too many people treat the tee as a chore instead of a tool, and they certainly don't make sure it's being used the right way mechanically.
Hey Matt, great video. I’m going to be coaching my son’s tee ball time this fall. How do I figure out the best height to place the tee for 4 to 6 year olds?
Another way to make sure young players start their stance in the right place: first when they come to the plate take their bat from them and put two marks in the ground, each mark will be where you want them to put their feet, then adjust the tee from there. Also tell them to keep the same swing everytime. This allows the young kids to stand in the same place every time while you manipulate the tee to dictate where you want to ball to go.

I won’t do anything for another few years probably. He’s so young and swinging a really heavy bat, so I’ll just let him hit for a while

Love the response from dad. Too many parents want their kids to have polished mlb ready swings and fill their heads with way too much mechanical nonsense. Even top high school level kids are often still growing into their swing. As he learns to control his body during the swing it will most likely correct itself.
What bat do you have your son swinging with? And how old was he when you had him start using wood?
Noticed the wood bat. Do you think I should encourage my son to use the heaviest bat he can handle? His technique is definitely better with the lighter aluminum.

He is hitting the ball farther than my 9 year old.
I am (27 years) tossing to my little brother (13 years). I’m a lefty, he’s a righty and he hits everything over the shortstops head. How can I help him hit against righty’s or progress his swing? Do I need to learn to toss righty?

Notice how the child rests the bat on the neck. This helps him get the correct swing angle in my opinion.

I noticed that your sons back elbow is down. My son does the same. At what age do we address it or is that fine?
I would like it up more. We have talked about it. Some of it has to do with strength. Some is due to him forgetting to emphasize it

@@MegA1_16 I don’t worry about results when first making swing changes. Eventually it should lead to better results, but could take some time

Hey Matt I notice you seem to let your son just swing freely for the most part. You don't address the back foot staying still or maybe the hands up & bat off shoulder? I was curious if you believe that at his age there 8s no need for it yet or is it ok to teach this at his age? I have an 11 & 7 I overemphasize this a lot am I wrong in your opinion? Thanks Shawn
I just let him hit as his age. I give a few tips here and there, but I just want him to be aggressive and hit the ball hard.
Is there a particular reason why your son is using a wood bat?
Just cause he likes it
