  • Hitting a baseball is about more than just making contact with the ball! You need proper footwork to build the powerful foundation to make a good hit. Breaking down a basic swing can be a challenge, so we share our steps for teaching proper stance and swing for a baseball bat.
    These concepts are great for beginners of all ages 4, 5, 6, 7 and even 8 year-olds! This can also be useful for players who are more advanced, but forget the fundamentals. Bring these drills in at any level to encourage a solid foundation in baseball skills!

    I played baseball majority of my life and have retired from my playing days and it’s my turn to teach my kids the sport I enjoyed playing. I was professionally trained for 4 years in HS and went to play ball in college and I can say after watching this video I believe it’s a good starting video and good tips for anyone learning and wanting to be a tball coach or just wanna help your kid get better. The bat on the shoulders is a great tip and not trying to ask a 4-5 year old to keep your elbow up and focusing on the hips turning rather then the arms doing the moving is also a great tip well done sir

      That is a fun age. Be patient, the drills you start at 3 and 4 really pay off at 5 and 6. Have fun

    Thanks so much for these videos. Im trying to teach my son hitting, and everything i find online goes into more complex hitting drills, but this video is exactly what i needed! The most basic hitting instructions for somebody just starting out. Thank you so much!

      @@coachscornerWells Helpful is an understatement. My son was constantly dropping his hands and swinging underneath pitches. He's only in coach pitch and in first grade, but after teaching him with your videos, he went 4/4 tonight hitting. He was so happy and so was I! So thanks again, you've earned a subscription here.

    Thanks for this. I'm a parent with two boys who recently got interested in baseball. Now it's the offseason and I want to teach them the basics before they sign up for little league. Can you recommend a good tee to get for 7 and 10 year old beginners?

      Tanner Tee the Original adjustable batting tee is the best, but also expensive. You will be using for a long time, so not a terrible investment. Check Facebook marketplace for a used one!
      We have found the collapsible legs to be convenient for transportation, maneuverability and storage.

    **Bats out HELMETS OUT** Was showing my 3 1/2 yr old daughter video and she's asking why doesn't he have a helmet on mom

    • @coachscornerWells
      @coachscornerWells  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very good rule and observation. Off the tee I don't always get the helmet, but I should.

    Why teach 5 yr olds to swing at balls above the waist? Looks like you placed the tee with the balls at nipple level.

    • @coachscornerWells

      Well, the t only goes so short.....and a higher t position is used to train them to control the bat. And we vary t level when the kid is tall enough or t goes short enough. My tballer was barely 4 at this point.

      @@coachscornerWells Thanks for response. FYI, I managed to find a cheap Franklin all rubber T that positions the ball about 19" above ground. I could even cut the bottom off to lower it more if desired. Hitting went up dramatically in first use. Batters can actually swing downward to ball. It's at belt level for our 4-1/2 year olds.
