Great video John. This is what the game is all about. My son is 10U now (still young), but brings back a lot of memories. At three and four years old, its all about fostering love for the game and pointing out the knowledge you know at the same time. I would have loved to have this video when he first started out. Thanks for doing what you do!
I just signed up for head coach of my son's t-ball team, and I have no idea what I'm doing! Practice starts Friday thanks for your video, wish me luck!
I like how this video shows drops, misses, and all togetherness of teaching new mechanics. I am also a coach of a 4 year year old; and like your patience and encouraging behaviors. I look forward to more videos. Thanks. 🙏
kiddo is a good negotiator for his home run prize 😂 this is a great video! my best friend and i are signing our 3 year olds up for tee ball and are looking for ways to start practicing with the kids at home before the next season starts. also i wish i could like this video twice for not editing the video to only show the ups and not the downs. social media editing these days makes people have such high expectations for our children’s behaviors. his silly “that’s lava and this is space” made me smile because that’s definitely something my son would say. two thumbs up!! 👍👍
Thanks for making this video for us dads that don’t know the best drills to do. Also gave me inspiration to video my sons and I as I work with them. Memories is what it’s all about!
I'm a new TBall Dad and Coach. Thanks for this video. I would live to see more Tball Videos for my sons and their team. Great job and keep up the good work!
Hey coach I am very good at makeing contact with the ball but i hit basically all of them on the ground so can you make a video on drills and tips for not hitting groundballs
Great, fun work with your son. Takes me back to when my 7 year old started. Love his big swings. For catching, I’m not sure where I first saw it, but I put my youngest teams on upside down 5 gallon buckets and tossed them balls, first barehand and then with gloves. It isolates the hands and doesn’t allow them to move their feet or head around too much. Within a few practices we’d usually have a few that learned to catch. Have a great season, KJ and Marlins!
Great stuff....so true about this age level though. I've coached almost all levels as well...but talk about no pressure...just have fun. As I move up coaching I hope I can remember that mindset. Do that and the rest takes care of itself
my son just turn 4 and does the same with the lefty throwing and batting right handed. I was thinking of teaching him how to hit lefty or throw righty after this tee ball season but not sure. I was thinking to let him figure out on his own and just focus on the fun of the sport. Any thoughts on the lefty throwing and hitting right handed at this age?
I just signed my son up for tee ball for the Spring/Summer. He'll be almost 5. What size mitt do you recommend? A 9" or 10". I've read different things.
I want to help my little guy. He got very disappointed when he got tagged and he gets frustrated when throws. He goes to throw and he stops in motion with his arm back and takes forever to throw the ball. Its like he goes to throw it and then hesitates. What can I do? He doesn't do it at home when playing catch with me but he'll do it at practice. What can I do?
@@YouGoPro great number 1 rule and thanks for sharing. Lefty catcher is a great idea, my lefty caught all the way through his 12 all star team. He loved it, at the center of every pitch, cool gear etc, and now that he’s parked at 1st base at 15 all that catching made him really good at picking balls in the dirt. Love your channel, have fun!
As a mom who has no clue about sports, this has been incredibly helpful for getting my son ready for tball. Thank you so very much.
Same!!!
Same
I’m glad you showed his frustration and COACHED him through it.

This is awesome I love the coaching around the 6:45 mark, and keeping the hands up with the glove on.

Coach, have you read The inner game of tennis?
No. A good one?
Arguably THE best sports/performance psychology book ever written.
A lefty. I say make him a catcher.
🤣 I was thinking shortstop

Congrats! Good job locking down that 4th coaching spot. 😆 Seriously, great video.
It is so much easier to work with one kid
Batting right throwing left is the worst setup…
